Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 04-13-2011

MORE INFORMATION ON DATE CODES -

Another visible part that an identification label can be seen is on the side of the driver's side valve cover. This can probably be found on many of the low-mileage cars, rather than the high-mileage cars. This is because age and heat can cause this paper-like label to fall off or deteriorate. This label is no longer on my personal Turbo-T car. Unfortunately, I don't know what these numbers represent.

PHOTO 1 - Shows a close up of the label found on the driver's side valve cover. If you still have it on your car's valve cover, it will be on the inner side of the driver's valve cover towards the intake. The second photo shows the pair of valve covers that we had blasted and painted silver. (See parts listing below as this set and two others with NO label are for sale.)

REMEMBERING MOLLY -

It was this time last year that Molly passed away from cancer. Molly passed on April 19th, then my Dad passed on April 29th. It's hard to believe it's been a year.

If you met Molly at any of our Reunion events or at my 60th Birthday Bash, you know he was a terrific guy who was genuine. He often told us how impressed he was with the devotion Turbo Buick owners had with their cars.

Some owners (approximately 200) out of like 20,000 Turbo Regal cars were lucky enough to get his signature on their trunk ID label from the few times we offered that opportunity.

PHOTO 2 - The top photo shows the 1:18 GMP diecast red prototype Grand National originally done by Molly for Buick. You can see his autograph on the trunk lid. The lower photo shows a Grand National prototype photo we received from Molly.

PHOTO 3 - The photo on the left shows another signed Molly car. This one is from my 60th Birthday Bash banquet. Each attendee at that banquet received a unique collectible - a Hot Wheels HO scale Grand National. Molly signed EACH car, then we repackaged them and enclosed a special printed card. We also had Molly sign the outside package on a few others, shown in the photo of the right.

PHOTO 4 - Shows a brand new Grand National dash trim panel that I have kept in my personal collection. I had Molly sign it above the famous Grand National logo. The lower photo was taken in the early 1990s at our kitchen table at our old house. To his left is Darrell our son, Devyn our granddaughter (who is now 12 years old), Pete Serio (the window-rattle guy), Trey Crease (0-60 Performance), Pete Hoffman and John Spina (Caspers Electronics.) I think Molly was explaining if the bus tips over you, want to exit from the exposed side!

These are all fond memories for us and for many of you that knew Molly.

NOTE - If anyone is planning to attend the "RIDE ON MOLLY" MEMORIAL EVENT - APRIL 30th - MAY 1st, 2011 in Temecula Creek Inn, Temecula, California, please contact us. We would like to include information and photos from the event in our Inner Circle.

ON THE NEWS FRONT -

The May Issue of GM High-Tech Performance magazine has a 4-page spread on Scot Walkowiak's 1986 white T-Type. Scot owns GNS Performance. It's a great article about all the upgrades he has done in order to enter his car in autocross events.

The May issue of Muscle Machines has a 4-page spread on last year's GS Nationals. Plenty of photos representing the 30th anniversary of the GS Nationals held last fall in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It's always good to see our cars getting good ink in current automotive magazines.

UNUSUAL CHEVROLET PICK UP FOR SALE -

A local friend of mine, who has a small used car lot near me, is selling an unusual 1993 Chevy short bed truck. It is one of the rare Indy 500 trucks from May 1993. Not sure how many they produced. Truck is black with all the Indy decals intact and looks to be 100% stock and extremely clean. It does have 90,000 miles on it. Truck was just Pennsylvania inspected. They want $10,500 for it. Email me if you or someone you know may be interested in this limited production Indy 500 Chevrolet pick up truck - denniskirban@yahoo.com

You can't order this Special Deal from our website, you MUST call our office - 215-766-1611 x 0.

This is an excellent buy since the cars now 25 years and older. It's a key part to bring the car back to that new ride feeling.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - denniskirban@yahoo.com

ALWAYS IN A BUYING POSITION WORKS -

Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - denniskirban@yahoo.com
Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.

2011 BUICK PERFORMANCE GROUP - JULY 29th - 31st, 2011 - HEBRON, OHIO -

The Buick Performance Group event will feature the Turbo Buick "step children" the T-Types and Pontiac's unclaimed child the Turbo Trans Am. The event is at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.

They have secured Scott Kelly to attend, as well as Denny Manner, Joe Guzek, Dave Roland, Ron Yuile. Denny has also contacted Tom Wallace in hopes that he will attend. The people mentioned have also contacted other retired Buick Engineers, including Mike Doble to have them attend. There will be displays and "tech" talks, so it should be very informative. I don't think there has ever been that many Turbo G-body Engineers in one place at one time. This is one event you do not want to miss this summer!

Information for the Event can be found here -
