1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
OIL FILTER ADAPTER For Larger Oil Filter

This oil fill adapter has been manufactured by RJC RACING, who also developed the very successful Airflow Power Plate®, Part #6942, we market.

This new billet steel oil filter adapter allows, made from billet steel, allows you to run a larger oil filter. You simply remove the stock oil cooler retainer located in the center of the factory oil adapter and install this new one, which has a different thread pitch and diameter.

In this illustration on the right we have indicated the actual adapter you are replacing with an arrow.

Once installed, it will allow you to use an oil filter approximately 20% larger than any you are currently using on your 1986-1987 Turbo Regal.

According to Jason of RJC Racing, in some of the initial testing they determined better oil pressure was realized at idle by using larger diameter filters. Jason's personal test car has run a best of 9.96 at 134 mph while maintaining a stock block and still being a fully-optioned Grand National! He uses this larger oil filter and the RJC AIRFLOW DISTRIBUTION PLATE® he developed.

This photo shows the actual new oil filter adapter, which allows you to run a larger diameter oil filter.

By using this new adapter, it will now accept an oil filter that is 1/2" wider in diameter and will be as tall or taller than the one you are using. Each adapter comes with a complete list of suggested oil filters to use. This includes Fram®, STP®, Purolator®, and, our preference, Mobil 1®.

Remember, anything you can do to improve oil flow and filtering will be a major advantage for a turbo engine.
