REPORT FROM GM AT CARLISLE - PART 2 -
PHOTO 1 - This to me was a pretty good buy as it appears the seller was open to entertaining any serious offers. Sign reads, "25th Anniversary Trans Am - ONLY 1 of 12 - 6-SPEED / HARD TOP / CD PHS DOCUMENTED LOW MILES / ALL ORIGINAL GM PRESS VEHICLE FEATURED IN MUSCLE CAR MAGAZINE ASKING $18,500.00 OBO." I know from experience, late-model F-body cars Pontiac or Chevrolet are very hard to find with a solid roof and a manual 6-speed transmission. Making this more desirable is the history and the fact it is an Anniversary model.
As we stated in last week's Inner Circle. the new Camaro is one of the new car models that many companies are tinkering with, not only with performance but cosmetically as well.
PHOTO 2 - The photo on the left shows one unique example of a new hood that is similar to what GM did on the new ZR1 Corvette, only this is on a new 2010 Camaro SS. The photo on the right shows another example of a new hood available for the Camaro.
PHOTO 3 - Shows what a possible 2010 Pontiac Firebird or Trans Am would look like. As you can see, you have plenty of options for cosmetic upgrades on the new Camaros. It's just a matter of having enough money to spend!
A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE -
As we said in an earlier Inner Circle, the Yum Yum's donut shop we dealt with over the years has now been leveled along with at least 5 other buildings that sat on that corner in Warminster.
Back in the early 1970s, we used to live about a block from that location. One of the other buildings that got leveled the other week also held special memories for us. It used to be Keyburn's Body Shop. When I started our towing service, John Keyburn (the owner) would work on my truck. My first tow truck was a 1950 Chevy 1-┬Ż-ton with a Manley hand-winch setup.
John Keyburn, actually painted two of our personal vehicles, both of which I would show at car shows. One was our 1947 Studebaker pickup truck and the other was our 1949 Oldsmobile model 76 Club Coupe.
PHOTO 4 - The photo on the left shows our fully restored 1947 Studebaker ┬Ż-ton pickup truck. The original factory color was brown, but I elected to have the truck painted baby blue! The photo on the right shows our black 1949 Oldsmobile 76 Club Coupe. Coincidentially, the truck was the same age as myself and the Oldsmobile was the same age as my wife Eileen.
Back then I even had Hurst make a custom floor shifter for the Oldsmobile, which had a 1957 Olds 371 V8 backed up by a extremely modified 1953 4-speed hyro-matic transmission. The Olds shifted every bit as crisp and hard as any Buick Turbo Regal we have owned.
Even though I sold them both fairly local to us, in all these years, I have never seen either of these cars at any car show event!

BREAKING NEWS -
I'm attending the 38th Annual Pontiac Oakland Club International Convention, the POCI National Meet in Charleston, West Virginia from July 6th through the 10th. Actually, I'm one of the scheduled speakers on Wednesday, July 7th at 12 noon (TODAY) at the Civic Center in Charleston. I will be talking on ZDDPlus™, Hurst/Campbell, and of course Pontiac GTOs.
"Ronny and the Daytonas" that had the hit recording "GTO" back in 1964 will be in concert Saturday. Some of you may recall we actually had John "Bucky" Wilkin at one of our early 1990s GTO/Buick Reunion Events. He was the lead singer in the group and actually wrote the song while he was in high school. We also had Davy Jones of the "Monkees" at one of our Reunion Events.
So, if you reside in or around Charleston, West Virginia, and want to see several hundred nice Pontiacs, stop by and say hello. For more information, go to www.poci.org

URGENT REQUEST - WE NEED TURBO CORES! -
We need stock 1986-1987 Turbo Regal turbos for cores.
For each complete turbo you send us, you will received either a check for $75 for or a Letter of Credit for $100 for any parts listed on our website. Just specify which you want for your turbo.
By sending us complete cores, it enables us to supply other owners with rebuilt units and also our TA 49 versions. The TA 49 turbos we sell require the use of the stock exhaust housing. By using that section, no low-end torque is lost in regular street driving.
THANK YOU for helping to keep the parts available for other Turbo Regal owners.

GOOD NEWS ON ANOTHER NEW PART IN THE WORKS -
One of the parts in the works for summer is the factory-style HEADERS for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. We expect to also have the driver's side alone available as well. They will be made from 409 stainless. As delivery time draws closer, we will have a special introductory price to determine initial sales response.
We have recently been informed that the mounting flange will be changed to accept the various style cylinder heads.
Watch for updates on this project.
ALWAYS IN A BUYING POSITION WORKS -
Got any Turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - email@example.com -
Also we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.
GM PARTS UPDATE -
It appears that the GM supply of the factory 1986-1987 GM factory original molded boost line kits are dwindling and may already have disappeared from GM's warehouses inventory. We currently have a decent supply of them.
This is a very critical part, for any 1986-1987 Turbo Regal, since it is needed to control boost. They have 3 specially formed hoses with a special size diameter T in between two of the molded hoses. These also have the GM wording on them.
Over a period of time, heat can cause the hoses to swell and crack. While they last, we have them available for $44.95 plus shipping, Part #6644. Supplies are limited.

KIRBAN PERFORMANCE CLOSE-OUT PARTS -
We have the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal - GM Air Flow Duct (from turbo to MAF sensor), Part #6536 in stock for $61.95. Just a few left now.
We still have a few brand new GM right hand side marker lights with the blackout package. This is the marker light that attaches to the side of the headlight bezels. Price is $61.95 plus shipping.
If you are interested in any of these parts, you must call our office to purchase it. Some of these close out items are just about gone from the GM parts system.

INFORMATION ON A GOOD CAUSE - CANCER WALK -
NOTE - THANKS to those who have already contributed or plan to contribute to this great cause. We've heard from readers who have had Breast Cancer affect their immediate family. Thanks so much.
Our daughter-in-law Carrie has committed to a 60-mile, 3-day walk in October to raise money for Cancer research. Many of you have met her at our events. She needs to have $2300 raised by August 1st. If you would like to help with this fundraiser for a good cause, here is the information and a message from Carrie.
Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ Walk - Carrie Kirban
I have taken on an incredible challenge. On October 15-17, 2010, I'll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days, camping out at night with thousands of other women and men taking this journey with me. I have committed to raise $2300 to be able to participate in the walk. The money I need to raise goes to cancer research and I pay for my expenses separately.
It's for an event called the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™. Net proceeds from the Komen 3-Day for the Cure are invested in community-based breast health programs and breast cancer research.
You never know who this disease will strike next. My prayers go out to all of my friends and family that have been affected with this disease. Let's find a Cure! To make a donation, go to - The3Day.org - Click on Donate and search for my personal fundraising page under Carrie Kirban.
