1987 REGAL LIMITED V8 WITH FE3, Y56, & WO2 PACKAGE - FOR SALE -
This is the car we mentioned in last week's Inner Circle. We now have it ready to sell. The price is $7495. This is below our earlier projected price.
The new owner will get a copy of the CarFax®, which is clean. Also the past owner told me I can give his personal phone number to the new buyer.
Buick made quite an array of options available for a Limited Regal in 1987. Prior to this, the target market for most Limiteds was the older buyer. Since the standard Limited was a more luxurious model, most would not be equipped like this one. The FE3 is the Grand Touring Suspension option. The Y56 package is what gives the car the Turbo look with the T emblem on the front fenders, 15" by 7" aluminum wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, suspension upgrade, and fast ratio steering.
We did find a mistake in the Buick Dealer Album. It states the turbo aluminum wheels are 15" by 6". As we all know they are 15" by 7", the same size as the Grand National wheels.
The Y56 option was $508. The WO2 exterior sport package was only $30 additional since it eliminated a lot of the exterior stainless that normally would be on a Limited in 1987. On a regular Turbo Regal, the sport package would have cost $100 more.
In the Buick Dealer Album for 1987, it talks about "How to Buy a Hot Regal" and have the looks without the turbo engine. It's a shame that part of the Y56 package (for a few hundred dollars more) did not include the turbo hood, which would have basically completed the exterior look of a Turbo Regal. Since this was the first and only year for Buick to offer this unusual possible combination, I am sure not many would have been ordered like this Limited.
The code for the V8 engine four barrel was LV2, which was an additional $590. The 3.8 two barrel was standard.
We did install all 4 of the missing lower body bushings. The body bolts came right out with no problem. Interesting enough, both the rear and front sway bars still has the original paper GM parts sticker on them! Not readable, but still intact!
PHOTO 1 - Shows the 1987 Regal Limited V8 white exterior against a grey cloth interior. White with the WO2 exterior sport package is one of the most desirable combinations for the Regal. The lower photo is a close up of the back end. You can see the silver gas tank (not undercoated) and the bright chrome rear bumper, which is like new. The small plastic emblem on the driver's side trunk is the dealer emblem that sold the car when it was new.

PHOTO 2 - Shows a new reproduction Chevrolet truck grille from the 1950s. According to the label on the box, the grille was produced overseas, as are most of the parts for the older cars now.
PHOTO 3 - A wide array of wheels were available at this vendor's spot.
PHOTO 4 - Restoring old trucks is becoming quite popular. I'm glad I did not have to unload this truck load!

ANOTHER PRODUCT SOON TO DISAPPEAR -
Part #7245 - Custom-made center armrest cushion for the 1984-1987 Grand National and GNX.
The source that makes these beautiful armrest cushions is discontinuing them. The price for buying the original pallex black and grey material has skyrocketed, making it too costly to continue to make using original material.
At this point, no decision has been made to offer something similar at some future date.
We now have just 3 left that were made the original pallex material. Our price remains the same at $124.95 each plus shipping for the last 3 we have in inventory. If you need or want one, buy it now.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
ALWAYS IN A BUYING POSITION WORKS -
Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - [email protected]
Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.

2011 BUICK PERFORMANCE GROUP - JULY 29th - 31st, 2011 - HEBRON, OHIO -
The Buick Performance Group event will feature the Turbo Buick "step children" the T-Types and Pontiac's unclaimed child the Turbo Trans Am. The event is at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.
They have secured Scott Kelly to attend, as well as Denny Manner, Joe Guzek, Dave Roland, Ron Yuile. Denny has also contacted Tom Wallace in hopes that he will attend. The people mentioned have also contacted other retired Buick Engineers, including Mike Doble to have them attend. There will be displays and "tech" talks, so it should be very informative. I don't think there has ever been that many Turbo G-body Engineers in one place at one time. This is one event you do not want to miss this summer!
