12-9-09 Inner Circle

Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 12-09-2009

We have our winners for our Annual Kirban Christmas Contest! This year we had the most responses over previous Christmas Contests.

The actual count of M & Ms and 3 small bite-size candy bars was 1,808.

Coming in First with a guess of 1,788 was Greg Culver from Texas.

Taking Second Place with 1,786 was Monte Uhrig from South Carolina.

Third Place was 1,775 by Rod Ramsey from California.

As you can see from the answers, they all fall very close to the actual count.

By the way, I personally count all the M & Ms in the contests we run!

Winners will be sent their prizes in about 7 days.

Here is a chance to own an actual piece of Top Fuel Racing History from the man ranked #1 with 144 national wins under his belt - Don Garlits.

Last month I attended the "22nd Annual Mopars with Big Daddy" event at his home base location in Ocala, Florida. This is the largest Mopar car show and swap meet in the southeast with over 300 show cars in attendance.

I got there a day in advance and actually helped Don pull some of his parts out of his private workshop to put up for sale.

Part of our purpose for being there was to make a DVD for ZDDPlus™. Richard Clark arranged for Anthony Filippone, Jr, Telling Story, Inc. from New York to film the segments for the DVD. He is also making a film on the Turbo Regals.

In Top Fuel Dragster racing, Don Garlits is at the very top with 144 National title wins. His list of accomplishments with his Swamp Rat dragsters would fill this entire page.

We were fortunate enough to purchase a limited amount of the actual connecting rods and pistons that were used in his Top Fuel Dragsters between 2001-2003, when he retired from Top Fuel racing.

His dragsters make between 6,000 and 8,000 horsepower. These connecting rods and pistons get replaced after just two runs in the quarter mile!

The connecting rod is made by Brooks Rods in California and according to Don originally sold for around $100 each. The piston was made by Venolia and sold for around $65 each.

Our son, Darrell made this unique stand that showcases the connecting rod with the piston attached. Both have been autographed and dated as to which year the engine was used on the track.

You can also purchase just the autographed rod (#7254) or just the piston (#7255).

The Certificate of Authenticity also includes a photo of Don actually autographing these connecting rods and pistons for us.

Here is a rare chance to own a piece of Top Fuel history. Supplies are limited, since he retired from Top Fuel racing in 2003.

An excellent memorabilia collectible for any car enthusiast!

Used Hemi Piston with Connecting Rod, Custom-made Display and
Certificate of Authenticity $139.95*

Used Hemi Connecting Rod and Certificate of Authenticity $79.95*

Used Hemi Piston and Certificate of Authenticity $69.95*

*SPECIAL PRICES are for a limited time. We will offer special prices for our Turbo Buick customers before we market them to the Hemi market.

Photo 1 - Shows Don personally autographing the used Hemi pistons on the left. The photo on the right shows our Part #7253 - the autographed piston, rod and custom-made display.

Photo 2 - Shows Don personally autographing the used Brooks connecting rods for us of the left. The right photo shows an autographed connecting rod and an autographed piston in front of one of his Swam Rat Top Fuel Dragsters.

Photo 3 - Shows Don's #001 Challenger Drag Pack car. Chrysler has plans to build about 100 of these strictly for racing. These special cars will not get a VIN number. I was very fortunate to not only buy the suspension out of this car, but also the 4 original tires and wheels. Don autographed all of them for me. I also have photographs proving he autographed all the tires and wheels. I did sell one of the wheels already and may offer another for sale in the future. Don has already run a mid-10 second 1/4-mile time with the Drag Pack Challenger.

Photo 4 - Shows Don in his personal garage with one of his dragsters holding a bottle of ZDDPlus™. Don is the spokesperson for ZDDPlus™.

It was a great time. Paul Castle out of Chicago made the trip as well. I did buy a few other collectible items from Don that I plan to keep.

If you are ever in the Ocala, Florida area, be sure to visit his museum - Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing, I-75 Exit 341, 13700 SW 16th Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34473 - web site - www.garlits.com

Many of you will get a rare chance to meet Don Garlits personally (courtesy of ZDDPlus™) at the 30th Anniversary of the GS Nationals in May 2010.

Here's an excellent new rear motor brace to help firm up the bracing on your car.

1984-1987 Turbo Regal -

This rear motor brace is custom made by RJC Racing, home of the 2002-2003-2004 GS Nationals TSM Class Winner.

The brace was designed and manufactured by Jason in billet steel, and then powder coated black. The unique design allows the load of the motor to be on the rear of the engine, instead of the narrowest point by the engine mounts.

It is designed to support the block in high HP applications and to help the motor stay in place during hard acceleration and high-load situations. This simple device bolts into existing holes. It is very effective and does not transmit vibration into the driver's/passenger's side compartment.

In an extreme test, they used a Turbo Regal with bad motor mounts. With 2 lbs of boost, the motor shifted by about 4 inches. With no other changes (other than installing this adjustable rear motor brace) at 10 lbs of boost, the motor barely moved a 1/4 of an inch.

There is no vibration felt with this system, because of the rubber snubber at the one point. It is totally adjustable, so you can make it even stiffer for race conditions yet be totally streetable. This rear motor brace will also cut down on false knock sensor readings and puts less stress on the factory engine mounts. Since it is powder coated black, it will not rust.

This 1984-1987 Turbo Regal rear motor brace comes with all the necessary hardware and instructions.

An excellent upgrade to cure the problem of engine movement under acceleration.

Here's a neat Stock Replacement Rear End Cover that TA Performance has produced that we are now selling.

1984-1987 Turbo Regal -

This stock replacement machined cast aluminum rear end cover is made by TA Performance.
It will fit the stock 8.5 rear end found on all original 1984-1987 Turbo Regals.

It measures about 4" deep. This will clear the factory crossflow muffler.

The cover is made from machined 319 aluminum, and comes complete with a drain plug and O-ring, a cover gasket, and grade 8 bolts.

The turbo-six symbol and Buick wording appears across the bottom of the cover. This cover allows the rear end to hold more fluid and the fin design aids in cooling.

An excellent upgrade for the stock rear end.

It appears that the GM supply of the factory 1986-1987 GM factory original molded boost line kits are dwindling and may already have disappeared from GM's warehouses inventory. We currently have a decent supply of them.

This is a very critical part, for any 1986-1987 Turbo Regal, since it is needed to control boost. They have 3 specially formed hoses with a special size diameter T in between two of the molded hoses. These also have the GM wording on them. Over a period of time, heat can cause the hoses to swell and crack. While they last, we have them available for $44.95, Part #6644. Supplies are limited.

Here is a link to the Boost Line Kit on our web site:

We have the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal - GM Air Flow Duct (from turbo to MAF sensor), Part #6536 in stock for $61.95. Just a few left now.

We also have a very limited supply left of brand new 1984-1987 Turbo Regal cam sensors at $165 each.

We still have a few brand new GM right hand side marker lights with the blackout package. This is the market light that attaches to the side of your headlight bezels. Price is $61.95

If you are interested in any of these parts, you must call our office to purchase it. Some of these close out items are just about gone from the GM parts system.

We are happy to announce the GNX exhaust system is in the final stages of production. Richard Clark has made a jig to check each system prior to shipping. He has recently bought some equipment so he can expand the pipes, so each system is a slip fit when the end consumer gets it.

The system is all mandrel bent using 304 stainless, and will include the center-to-center mufflers and clamps. This system is all 2-1/2 inch and will outflow the factory GM system.

Each system will come with easy-to-follow directions and will be drop shipped directly from North Carolina.

Final costs and pricing is almost ready, and we will be offering a special introductory price if purchased prior to Christmas. We will be making it available to other wholesale suppliers as well.
