2009 DODGE RAM 3500 DUALLY TURBO DIESEL - FOR SALE –

This is a remarkable 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 truck with just 24,000 miles on it. That averages less than 2,000 miles a year! The truck is garage kept and just one owner (a non-smoker.) It comes with Window Sticker. It’s a four wheel drive, four door crew cab, with Laramie SLT package (top of the line), black exterior with grey leather interior. The interior still smells factory new inside and nothing shows any wear. The owner used it strictly for long trips pulling a trailer. They have a second one they use for work.

Here is a chance to own a late-model dually truck for a fraction of the cost for a new one. The Window Sticker shows this truck sold for almost $55,000 in 2009. The price is $35,000. For more info, contact me direct [email protected] The local dealership I work with is selling it.

1993 CAMARO PACE CAR - FOR SALE –

I recently discovered a real nice original 1993 Camaro Pace Car for sale local to me. Car has 22,000 miles on it. The price tag seems reasonable at $14,900. I was able to reach the person in charge of the repair shop that is selling the car for their customer. They do have the Window Sticker. It is quite nice. The interior is close to mint. You can tell the car has had great care since new. I did hear it run. Interior is mint as is the body. A few hours spent detailing this car would make it show worthy. The Pace car seems fairly priced to me. If this car perks your interest, email me [email protected]

AUTO EASEL CAR SHOW HOOD LATCH DISPLAY STAND FITMENT AND UPDATE –

We filled all our back orders this past Friday. The version that has the Hurst handle has been the most popular seller of the two versions. That’s proof that Hurst still remains a well-known company related to the American muscle car owners.

Since Devyn is home this week for Spring Break, we are shooting a YouTube video showing the installation of the Auto Easel on a typical Regal. You can expect me to inject a bit of humor during the process! We will post the link next week!

Here is an up-to-date list of cars and trucks we know our new Auto Easel Car Show Hood Latch Display Stands will fit. As we discover more applications, we will list them.

Remember, there is a Special Introductory Price that is in effect until midnight April 30, 2020.

STORIES THAT CAUGHT MY INTEREST THIS PAST WEEK –

Two major stories this past week caught my interest.

Mike Bloomberg spent $500-million-plus to prove, once and for all, money doesn’t buy an election. Looking back at that massive sum, I think he would have gotten far more positive publicity had he used that money to feed the homeless Americans or a similar gesture.

The other headline refers to the virus. As with any crisis, there always seems to be greedy Americans trying to cash in by selling Purell or face masks at rip-off prices. I feel sorry for the ones stuck all this time on the cruise ships. I think none of those stranded passengers will ever want to step foot again on a cruise ship!

REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM BRAKE DRUMS UPDATE –

The reproduction aluminum brake drums are now available and can be ordered directly from us. No matter where you buy them, they are stamped inside with the word Cardone. I provided the sample for this project and pushed them to make this reproduction several years ago. The quality is excellent.

Here is the link to the 10-bolt reproduction aluminum brake drums on our website.

MORE COLLECTIBLE PARTS FOR SALE –

See Photo 3 below. All 4 of the pictured items below can be found for sale under the Rare Parts section.

PHOTO 3 – The top left and top right displays are very similar. Both are the same size. One has scalloped edges and one has straight edges. The one with the flat edges has a black background and is etched on acrylic material. They both say, “GRAND NATIONAL - WE BRAKE FOR CORVETTES!” The bottom left and bottom right photos show the Fisher Body Carriage on a block. The bottom left one is carved in wood with a steel back and is very detailed. The one pictured in the bottom right appears to be something that was used in printing as it is backwards. It is mounted in a metal block and appears to have been attached to something.

G-BODY STEERING COLUMN UPGRADES –

One of the most popular items we sell for the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals (also fits a lot of other GM cars even back to the late-1970s) is the 4-piece bearing kit, #7572, for $37.95. Where the steering shafts come together under the hood, there is this 5-piece bearing kit that secures the upper shaft at the very base before it attaches to the lower steering shaft that goes to the steering box.

Originally from GM it was a 5-piece bearing kit. The upgraded replacement kit we sell is 4 parts because the main part in our kit is a single metal bearing instead of 2 rubber seals that GM used in most GM applications. This 4-piece kit replaces that design.

In recent years, the other nice upgrade for any G-body car is to replace the stock lower steering shaft in the G-body car. The stock lower steering shaft has a metal joint where the two shafts come together up by the firewall. It’s the bottom joint on the lower steering shaft that is the weak link. GM simply used a fiber-like coupler to attach the lower steering shaft to the steering box. Like the issue with the 2 rubber seals on the upper steering shaft, this fiber-like material coupler develops play due to age and oil can weaken it over a period of time. The only way you would notice the slow-wear process that is happening to your steering is, if you drove your car and then immediately took an original 2,000-mile Turbo Regal for the same test drive. The difference would be noticeable in how tight the 2,000-mile Turbo Regal drove compared to your car, assuming your car had 80,000 or more miles on it.

I am not an expert to determine what other GM cars had metal joints at both ends of the lower steering shafts and what year, if any, GM cars had the metal bearing kit over the 2 rubber seals for the upper shaft. But it’s an accepted fact today that both of these parts are a nice upgrade to make on your car.

The other week at a junkyard I came across this mid-1990s Camaro and laying inside the interior was the complete steering column. I noticed that the Camaro had the metal universal joints at both ends of the lower steering shaft. I never knew this before. Upon closer examination, I removed the lower steering shaft so I could get to the original 5-piece bearing kit and examine it.

It was the same style bearing kit you find in the Turbo Regals with the 2 rubber seals and not the metal bearing. It seems strange to me that the F-body Camaros got the better lower steering shafts with the metal joints at both ends, but still had the rubber seal kit instead of the metal bearing kit. This 5-piece kit is secured by a metal clip that snaps around the housing of the steering shaft. The lower steering shaft is quite short in the Camaro. The metal joints at both ends are longer than the in-between shaft is!

We sell good used Jeep lower steering shafts, which have the same better metal joints at both ends. This eliminates any play that is developed by a weakened rag joint that the stock GM lower steering shaft uses. The Jeep lower shaft also eliminates that plastic cover GM installed over the factor lower steering shaft. I have no idea what purpose that grey plastic shield serves.

See Rare Parts as we may have one Jeep lower steering shaft coming in the next shipment that is not yet sold. We offer a Special Deal with the Jeep lower steering shaft and #7572 bearing kit.

PHOTO 4 – The top left photo shows the lower steering shaft hanging over the open door of the Camaro. You can see the upper bearing is already loose and resting on the upper shaft. The top right photo shows a close-up of the 5-piece bearing kit just slightly pulled down from inside the upper steering shaft housing.

In the bottom left photo, you can see the two rubber seals at both ends of the plastic housing (which is part of the original bearing kit), almost at the end of the upper steering shaft. The bottom right photo shows both the original 5-piece sealing kit (2 rubbers seals) and below it in the sample photo is the upgraded replacement bearing kit we sell, part #7572, for $37.95. The upgraded kit uses a 1-piece metal bearing, which snaps into the plastic collar so the plastic collar is different than the original. The other parts, including the clip to secure it to the steering shaft, is identical to the original.

1985 REGAL LIMITED CHEVY V8 POWERED - STILL AVAILABLE - FOR SALE –

One of our relatives local to us is having us sell their custom-built 1985 Regal Limited that has been in the family since new. This 1985 Regal Limited has always been garaged, never hit, or smoked in. Our son Darrell repainted this car the factory color back in 2003 for $2,000. At 128,000 miles, the engine was converted with a brand GM 350/330 HP crate motor at a cost of $5,200. This was backed up with a rebuilt turbo 400 transmission. A local shop that we deal with redid the rear putting in a new eaton posi with, I believe, to be 3.08 gears. Gear ratio is perfect for high speed cruising.

Being a Limited, it is very well optioned and even the power antenna works. It has Bilstein shocks. Tires are fairly new. The tire size is 205/75 by 14s. Riding on the original 14 by 6 steel wheels with full Regal wheel covers.

With just a few Turbo Regal upgrades this would be an extremely nice solid handling Regal. I you install set of 16 by 8s on all four corners, a Turbo-T steering box, a rear sway bar, and a leather wheel, it will not only ride better, but look better too. The doors shut like they are brand new. The driver’s power pillow seat is the only interior part that shows very minor wear along the edge and around the power switch. A set of tasteful 3 gauges hang of the bottom edge of the dash under the radio. The power seat motor runs but does not function. Headliner will need to be replaced. The steering column has movement in the one section of the tilt.

The current mileage is 135,000, so that is less than 10,000 miles on a brand new GM crate motor. Electric fan with a V8 radiator handles the cooling. The AC has been completely rebuilt. Car has long-branch headers that dump into a new GNX exhaust system. Bigger front sway bar was installed. MSD ignition and an Edelbrock 4-barrell carburetor are fed with a cold air system. The adult owner has never once driven it hard to chirp the tires. Car still has its original half-padded roof. Body and paint are real nice with zero rust. All the stainless and emblems are in good condition. Nothing is missing. Bumpers also are close to new. All the critical labels are still intact, including the SPID label on the inside trunk lid. This car is a bargain and has had excellent care since new.

NEW LOWER PRICE $5,995 - OBO

The owner needs to sell the car. The body is exceptional with near perfect chrome, and all the stainless is nice. The car is at our house. For more photos, email me direct - [email protected]

When I sold it to the second owner the car had 29,000 miles on it. Now in 2020 it has 31,000 miles on it. If you do the math it has gone about 3,000 miles in a dozen years. Mot many Grand Nationals have as much documentation as this car has plus being one of my previous cars.

WELL-OPTIONED LOW-MILEAGE 1987 GRAND NATIONAL - FOR SALE –

This Grand National is still available. This extremely well-optioned, low-mileage 1987 Grand National that is for sale. The owner wants me to sell it for him. He has had it 6 years. The miles on this Grand National is a mere 48,200. Options include factory moon roof, power windows, power locks, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, concert sound, power trunk, digital dash, power seat, working power antenna, and posi rear. The Grand National is located in Maryland.

It has a beautiful repaint done prior to his owning it. He had paint correction done and ceramic coating this past Spring. The car really shines, probably 100%, better than original. Everything functions 100%, even the original AC.

Additional features include embroidered floor mats, few chrome goodies under the hood, Kirban adjustable fuel regulator, hot wire kit, 60lb injectors, adjustable wastegate, TT chip, new bumper fillers, new fuel tank, and has dual a-pillar gauges and console gauge package. According to the owner Mike, the Grand National has had 4 previous owners. The car shows no accidents or any indication that mileage is not accurate.

The price is $26,900. This Grand National is priced to sell. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of a well-optioned 1987 Grand National that would measure up to the quality of this one at this price. A factory moon roof with a power seat option is extremely rare. This car this Spring would easily bring several grand more than it is priced at this fall.

This car is show quality from any angle. For more information and photos, email me direct [email protected]

Pass the word along to your friends who may be looking for a great-looking well-optioned Grand National.

When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.

Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be use you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
