Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 06-05-2019 –

BREAKING NEWS - FOR SALE - 2007 MUSTANG COUPE SIX-CYLINDER MANUAL 5-SPEED -

What makes this 2007 Mustang unusual is one simple fact. The car has only been driven 3,000 miles since it was purchased new in Tennessee by a 75-year-old man. It is now up in my area being sold by one of the family members. Car is red with a black interior deluxe model with the Window Sticker. Car is 100% original. The car is a good color combo and an inexpensive Pony car that you can enjoy. It still has the new car smell without the new car cost!

You are basically buying a brand new 2007 Mustang in the year 2019! The price tag is $10,900. If you are interested, email me [email protected]  I do have photos of the exterior.

TURBO REGAL WRIST WATCH –

A while ago I found this cool looking Turbo Regal wrist watch on ebay. The dial depicts the analog style dash found in the Turbo Regals complete with the grey leather-wrapped steering wheel in front of the analog dash format. We actually had one that we auctioned off at our recent Open House. If you saw that wrist watch, this is the exact same wrist watch. If your eye sight is exceptionally good, you can actually read the mph numbers! See Rare Parts section as we have a limited number of them available.

PHOTO - 1 Shows this handsome unique brand new Turbo Regal wrist watch. The wrist watch comes in a nice gift box. The dial is approximately 1¼ diameter with a stainless-steel band with removable links. See the Rare Parts section for price.

DODGE DEMON LIGHT-UP DISPLAY SIGN –

By chance last week I stopped at the local Dodge Dealer. My son and I have an account with almost every car dealer in the Doylestown area. I remember a while ago seeing this cool light up Demon logo sign based on the Dodge Demon. The price tag was $260. I wondered since we had a wholesale account, would it apply to the Demon sign? If so I would be a possible buyer.

The parts guy said he would check with the manager as to what he could sell it to me for. He came back and said the manager would sell it for half their cost since they had it for over six months. My price was just $110! Naturally, I bought it with no hesitation.

So, next time you pass a Dodge dealer, stop in. You may get lucky. If they have a Demon sign that is gathering dust, they may want to sell at a reduced price.

If you check ebay, they run $250 or more.

PHOTO 2 – Shows this Demon logo sign lit and turned off. The Demon sign measures approximately 22 inches wide by 10 inches high at its highest point. The Demon is considered one of the quickest U.S. production cars when it was first introduced. A record the GNX held back in 1987. Any U.S. factory dealer logo sign associated with a fast production car will surely increase in value in years to come. This cool sign now hangs in my home office.

MORE AUTOGRAPHS FROM MY PRIVATE COLLECTION –

We recently showed the Maxine figure autographed by the artist that created Maxine for Hallmark Greeting cards. I have many different framed prints that I had Molly sign on several of his visits to our house for the events he attended. I also visited Don Garlits several years back and bought a number of items autographed by him. I also had Bill Campbell, the co-founder of Hurst, autograph several items for me as well over the years. I was at an event years ago and met Vic Edelbrock and was fortunate enough to get his autograph as well.

PHOTO 3 – The top left photos shows just one of the signed prints that Molly autographed years ago for me. The top middle shows the Hurst hat autographed by Bill Campbell. The top right photo shows the Edelbrock hat autographed by Vic Edelbrock. The lower photo shows virtually a one-of-a-kind item signed by Don Garlits, the tailgate off his Dodge truck that got dented. I am sure Don Garlits has signed many items over the years, but there can’t be many autographed tailgates signed by Don Garlits. This one sits against my desk at home.

SCHOOL IS OUT –

June, as many of you know marks the end of the school year, and graduation for others. My wife Eileen graduated in 1967. I graduated in 1965. I was in Vietnam, so I could not attend her graduation that June of 1967. The senior class was slightly over 100 students. The high school was set up with a courtyard that was only accessible by regular size doors. Two of Eileen’s fellow classmates, Norm and Duane, hit upon the idea of “why not put a car inside the courtyard”? This would be an engineering feat because the car would have to be disassembled in order to fit through the doors to get to the courtyard.

The idea was set in motion and donations were collected to buy a car for the project. It was discussed with the school principle, Mr. George Robinson, who thought they were completely out of their minds but agreed to give them permission and a key to have access to the courtyard with one provision. It would have to be removed prior to graduation.

Several guys helped with the project. They purchased a Hillman with a blown engine from Heller’s junkyard for a mere $25. (Heller’s junkyard actually ended up with several of my cars!). The cost was refundable upon the return of the vehicle intact!

Now the engineering part came into play. How to take a car through the door opening, which was 54 inches high by 36 inches wide. In another student’s garage, they unbolted the various parts that could be unbolted from the Hillman. The roof posts and door jambs were clean cut with a hack saw and round rods were inserted in the posts to align and hold the roof on when it was reassembled in the courtyard.

Wheels, tires, and gas tank was removed. Using an acetylene cutting torch, the car was cut from front to back down the center, frame, and cross members. They then welded 12 inch by ¾ pipe to each crossmember at the center line to accommodate a ½ inch round rod to slide inside to reconnect the two cut halves of the frame at the time of reassembly.

It was then loaded into a pick-up truck on a Sunday night and reassembled in the courtyard in time for the students to see it Monday morning. At the last minute, they painted “Class of 67” on the side of the car.

The two local newspapers came out and photographed the car and called it “A rather unique feat in the history of the school.” To our knowledge, this feat has never been topped to this day at Lower Moreland!

Heller’s junkyard took the Hillman back, but did not return their $25 investment because it was in parts. In looking back, it would have been nice if the school had agreed to keep it there as a remembrance of the class of 1967!

PHOTO 4 - Shows two different views of this remarkable feat accomplished for just $25 and the work of some ingenious 1967 Lower Moreland graduates. The photo on the right is a small article that appeared in the school paper.

UPDATE CATALYTIC CONVERTER TEST PIPE AND 4-BOLT FLANGE GASKET –

As I write this week’s Inner Circle we are either completely out of test pipes or, at best, only have 1 or 2 left. It’s best to call prior to placing your order 215-766-1611X0. If it is not on the website as part #7422, then they are sold out.

GNX #206 FOR SALE –

We are selling GNX #206 for one of our long-time customers. While several GNXs can be found for sale on the internet, what separates this one from the pack is not only does it have the GNX book and GNX jacket but the trunk is full of everything associated with a GNX and all the documents back to the original owner in 1988. It is a 2-owner car. This GNX has never been advertised since the current owner purchased it in 1998.

It has been garaged with the wheels off the ground. Even the steering wheel was covered. Most unusual is that the little rubber bumpers are on both doors that came on the car when it was shipped is still on the car! I did not count them but Molly’s signature appears on a dozen or more items, including the GNX jacket. Car has 100% original paint and 100% stock. Front and rear fillers have just been replaced in the last 30 days.

The car still smells factory new. Mileage is 23,839 and original. Car has the latest PA inspection. It’s close to 100% perfect in every regard. The factory paint is outstanding, a term you seldom see used on a black Regal of any version. The price tag is $99,900. To help ease the pain, since I hold a license, I am open to consider any car or cars in partial trade. Trade value cuts down the sales tax bite and out-of-pocket money. Remember, a partial trade car need not be a Turbo Regal. It can even be more than one car. Buying this example eliminates any surprises that some of the other GNXs seem to have that are for sale. This GNX is one that can only advance in value. You can email me for more photos. My email is [email protected]

NEW PRODUCT COMING DESIGNED FOR JEEP OFF-ROADING –

A local company has patented a clever new product and we are the marketing agent for this new product. Jeeps are well known for having over heating issues especially when used to pull a trailer or to go off-roading.

Until now the solution has been to install lovers or vents in the hood to let the heat escape. The problem with this is the vents are open all the time. So, when it rains water gets under the hood and can cause issues with the electronics under the hood.

This company has developed a vent system that is heat activated so the vents close automatically when the engine is cooled down. No wiring is involved. The vent system is flush mounted on the hood of any Jeep and can be painted. The vent system is made from 6061 T aluminum.

In the next several months we will be approaching various Jeep companies about this new product. This clever product will be on display at our Open House. The Jeep off road market is huge. This product can be adapted to virtually any flat hood to allow heat out of the engine compartment. Email me [email protected] for more details and photos.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be use you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
