MINI CONTEST WINNER -
Last week we ran a mini contest on a bracket that is found under the hood of the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals.
We only received 1 correct answer from Brett Johnson in Florida. He’s in the middle of a total restoration of his Grand National. Brett also was the lucky owner who bought the complete Pallex seat cover seat we had a few months back.
The answer is a reproduction of the plastic bracket that secures the grommet holding the speedometer cable to the firewall.
I do not know if cars with the digital dash had this bracket or not. Regular Regals did not use this bracket, from what I can determine. I am also not aware if the 1984 and 1985 Turbo Regals used it. It can be difficult to see because it’s somewhat hidden by the harness behind the engine, which is also held in place with a metal bracket.
I have no idea why Buick used a plastic bracket secured by two 7mm screws. Check your bracket. It’s probably a good chance yours is broken as well. This bracket on my car is broken, and my car has not been subjected to any modifications or disturbances under the hood that would cause it to break.
This new reproduction aluminum bracket is now in stock, part #7801. Since it’s aluminum, it will last. It is the only part that holds the grommet in place on the firewall.

ORIGINAL BUICK DISPLAYS -
Probably 5 or 6 years ago I sold one of the most unique displays I had regarding the new V6 Turbo engine introduced in 1978. I recently was contacted by Tony Remo in New Jersey who bought it. He decided to sell it and he was nice enough to give me the first option to buy it back.
I did make him a deal so I could add this to my personal collection. It is one of the few displays Buick did as far as I know regarding the new 1978 Turbo V6 engines.
Back in 1978 most of us were not paying any attention to the new V6 Turbo Buick powerplants. Back then I had just started my GTO business and was buying nice 1964-1970 GTOs to resell. Most of us did not start to pay attention to the Buick Turbo engine in the Regals until magazines started to write about the intercooled models in 1986 and 1987. Articles back then did many comparisons of the Turbo Regal, notably the Grand National to the Corvette, which was always promoted as GMs halo car.
Buick marched to their own beat by improving the turbo engine each year, while Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Chevrolet stuck with the V8 engine to put power to the road. Chevrolet did have a turbo V6 Monte Carlo version for 1981 and 1982 only. The Buick Regal powered Turbo V6 beginning with the 1984 models, with its great low-end torque on a cool day was something the muscle car buyer quickly embraced. Having a sinister look just added to the mystique. This intensified with the 1986 models which added the intercooler feature.
In some cases, it’s the early model years of a new car that fetch the big money. Examples in that category, include the GTO and the Thunderbird. In both cases, it’s the early years that bring the big dollars rather than the later years. I never even bought any 1971-1974 GTOs years ago and they still in most cases, don’t come close to the values of the 1964 and 1965 models. In 1974 Pontiac had a tent option for the 1974 GTO! Same holds true for the Thunderbirds. The early ones (1955-1957) will always be worth far more than the later larger Thunderbirds.
Even if you had a half dozen restored 1978 Regal Sport coupes with the turbo V6, you would still fall short of the value of equally nice WE4, 1987 Grand National, and at the top of the value chain a GNX all being in the same condition. In other words, your surviving spouse hopes you had a WE4, 1987 Grand National, or better yet a GNX tucked away to cash in!
To a lesser degree around the same time period the Pontiac Fiero came on the scene. While only produced a few years, it is the last two years that garner any real value versus the first year of production. Years ago I did buy a 1987 GT Fiero. They were a nice car. It’s a shame that Pontiac killed the car model and years later suffered the same fate.
PHOTO 2 - The photo in the top left shows the newly acquired original 1978 Buick Turbo lighted display that I bought from Tony Remo. The lower right photo shows it lit. It measures approximately 15 inches wide by 18 inches tall. The metal case is about 6 inches thick and it lights up. I have no idea how these were distributed to Buick dealers back then. In all the years I been involved in the business, I can only recall seeing maybe 1 or 2 for sale ever. The top right photo shows one side of a newer Buick display sign. The lower right photo shows the backside of this two-sided sign.
I bought this display sign at the recent Richard Clark, NC Turbo Nationals. John Follweiler had it for sale. It is basically just a little larger than a typical license plate. This two-sided display sign refers to the various Buick T-Type models and the optional Exterior Sport package, more commonly referred to as the “Blackout Package” option. Until I purchased this Buick display sign, I had never seen one before. Based on that fact, I would say it is quite rare now that it is also over 30 years old.
Any original display sign, especially related to any car U.S. or foreign car that is collectible, today is quite valuable as owners look for the unusual to compliment their pride and joy.
FORDS AT CARLISLE -
This past weekend I attended the Ford event at Carlisle. I try to attend all the Carlisle events during the show season to see what’s new and to see what new ideas I can come up with for our market.
The Ford market, notably the Mustang market, is a huge segment of our wholesale business.
I have never seen so many GT40s in one place as I did at this event. It also marked the 50th anniversary of the Mercury Cougar. There must have been at least 50 of the early Mercury Cougars on the show grounds.
Years ago we had a really nice 1970 Cougar. It was gold with a black top and Eileen drove it for a number of years.
Someday I will have to total up all the cars that we have had over our life span!
PHOTO 3 - The top photos show just some of the GT40s that were on display. The bottom left shows a 1964 Airstream trailer being pulled by a 1955 or 1956 Ford station wagon. Airstream trailers have always been a great investment. Like the VW beetle, they kept with the same format for many years. The bottom right photo shows a one-of-kind custom built miniature 1955 Ford. This scaled-down Ford showed some real workmanship.

SMART ADVERTISING MOVE BY DODGE -
I recently saw a print advertisement for the new Demon which features a red Demon. It shows the car accelerating and you can clearly see the front wheels are off the ground. Impressive ad that would not need any doctoring as this is the first U.S. production car that can lift the front wheels.
Whether you are a GM fan, which my readers are, we can all appreciate how impressive this Dodge entry is. I can’t wait to see one on the street. I am sure in a few weeks Chrysler will have some at the Chrysler Carlisle event where I am speaking. Word has it that Bob Riggle and the Hurst Hemi Under Glass will be there as well.
I have the actual model of the Hemi Under Glass miniature that sat on George Hurst’s desk.
I am really looking forward to that event. I have already heard from several customers that plan to attend Chryslers at Carlisle.
MORE MEMORIES TURBO REGAL RELATED -
Over the years when I was buying Turbo Regals, I did have a few mishaps.
I recall on one trip coming back from Virginia driving around the beltway, a driver to my right was motioning to me about my trailer. I pulled over and behold the trailer was only riding on three wheels! Yet, it still towed like nothing was wrong. I had no idea where that one wheel and tire went. Fortunately, I had a spare. After that incident, I became a creature of habit and checked all the lug nuts on the trailer wheels prior to each trip. A habit you may want to embrace, if you have a trailer.
The one accident I had happened early on. I had a fairly new 1998 Dodge Dakota extended cab truck, V8 powered that was a dream to drive. It was 3 or 4 days before Thanksgiving and I had just picked up a silver or grey Turbo-T in northern Indiana. Coming across northern Ohio I had a kid pass me and as he went around the bend, he stopped suddenly to make a left hand turn.
As anyone knows that has trailered a car, stopping quickly is something that is tough to do. I braced myself so the airbag would not hit me in the face and I plowed into the back of his Chrysler. My truck was totaled. Amazingly, the Turbo-T did not move on the trailer at all.
I got towed to a storage yard, made a phone call to the dealer back home, and they faxed me a temp slip so I could put my truck tag on the Turbo-T and drive it home, which I did. I then borrowed my son’s truck, went back to northern Ohio, put my Dakota truck on my trailer, and brought everything back. I did this still in time to enjoy Thanksgiving at home.
With my Dakota truck totaled, I then bought my first Chevy 2500HD pickup truck with the 8.1 gas motor and Allison transmission. That combination was a huge step up from the V8 Dakota pickup truck. The 8.1 engine was impressive as a tow vehicle, especially going up hills with the Allison transmission. So much so, when rust started to take its toll, I traded that in on the identical GMC cousin version. I found one the same color and with the same powerplant in Lancaster, PA. The dealer even let me switch over my tires and wheels from my Chevy.
That was the only accident I had in all the dealings I had with buying over 320 Turbo Regals.

UPDATE ON THE 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL UPGRADED ALUMINUM RADIATOR -
Max Performance will not be getting more of these new radiators until late July. If you want one when they are available again in late July, you must call our office and reserve one with Christina 215-766-1611x 0. We would not charge your credit card until we can ship the unit. She would also contact you once they are available.
These are by far the best radiator for the money for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal application. Simply put this is a very nice unit with a price that can’t be beat. In some cases, it’s probably almost that much to repair your original radiator, which weighs 10 pounds more and would require major flushing to clean out the transmission and oil coolers.

VALVE COVER LAMP UPDATE -
We appreciate your patience on the valve cover lamp information. My source, who owns the company across from our warehouse, is hoping to find the time to make them next week. This is something he needs to do off hours as time permits.
We actually looked on another website and see where some artists get over $300 for custom valve cover desk lamps. I am hoping to find some of the older V8 muscle car valve covers to make other desk top lamps now that my supplier has his method on making them sorted out. I hope to take at least one valve cover lamp with me to the seminar I am conducting at Castle’s place in Lemont, Illinois the end of June.

If you have a car trailer here are a few tips. Prior to any trip check the lug nuts. Replace the original “Made in China” tires with a quality brand such as Goodyear trailer tires, and balance the wheels. Goodyear tires last a lot longer without cracking due to age and lack of use.

This year’s Chrysler event has a special all new Hurst Nationals July 14th and 15th in conjunction with the Chrysler Nationals. I have been asked to conduct a seminar on Hurst both days, July 14th and 15th. The location of my seminars as well as the other seminars is held just off the grounds from Gate 3 at the Expo Center. They have not yet told me my speaking times.
My granddaughter, Devyn hopes to go with me to help. With Chrysler introducing the Demon this April, my guess is they will have several Demons on display at Carlisle. Hope to see some of my customers at this event. I am as well versed with early Hurst history as I am with Turbo Regals.
As with all my seminars, I will be doing a M&Ms contest in honor of my parents. The Don Garlits autographed connecting rod will make a nice prize!

SPEEDOMETER CABLE GROMMET
REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM BRACKET
Over time, the original speedometer cable grommet bracket can break, since it’s only plastic. This reproduction bracket is made in aluminum, so it will last.
It is the only part that holds the grommet in place on the firewall to secure the speedometer cable.

These are the factory correct GM black metal wiper blades that are correct for all 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, except for the 1987 Turbo Regals that have the chrome package.
None of the available aftermarket wiper blades look like the original Trico metal black ones. Trico was the original supplier to GM. These are original GM wiper blades.

UPGRADED ALUMINUM RADIATOR
Because of the age of these cars, the radiator has lost some of its efficency. Also the factory core size is marginal at best.
These upgraded radiators are 100% brand new, and made by COLD-CASE, a division of Max Performance, who also owns Pypes Exhaust.
This new radiator is bare aluminum. It has two 1" tubes, which are bigger than stock. The core size is 1/4" wider and the end tanks are 1/4" wider.
This radiator has undergone several months of testing by Nick Micale in his car in Arizona.
The original radiator weighs 25.6 lbs, this radiator weighs 15.2 lbs. The overall weigh savings over the stock radiator is about 10 lbs.
This upgraded radiator is designed so it fits exactly like the factory radiator and accepts all the factory original oil and transmission coolant fittings. The factory radiator cap will also fit this radiator. The reproduction radiator top plate and the custom top plate will also fit.
Our first photo shows this new upgraded aluminum radiator. Our other photos show a comparison views of an original radiator and this new aluminum radiator.
NOTE - If you plan to paint the radiator, we highly recommend Eastwood’s Radiator Black 12 oz Satin Finish, part #10340Z @ $12.99 per can. A typical radiator requires 2 coats of paint. Normal engine paints are too thick for radiator use, which will interfere with heat transfer and block air flow over the cooling fins. Also, standard paint tends to flake off metal radiator tanks. The Radiator Black is specially formulated to solve these problems, will not interfere with heat transfer, and is heat resistant to 300°F.

CUSTOM RADIATOR TOP PLATE & HARDWARE
In many cases, the original metal radiator top plate that holds the top of the radiator and secures the housing for the electric fan may be rusted or bent.
This radiator top plate is unique to the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals, making it difficult to find a nice used one today.
This radiator top plate is made by Spoolfool but does not look like the stock original steel radiator top plate. It is fiberglass and not metal. It attaches the same way, however the top surface is smooth. This gives it a more custom look.
Each one is done in black gelcoat polished to a high gloss shine. It weighs only 1 pound versus 3 pounds for the metal plate. It saves a small amount of weight, but more importantly, it will never rust!
It comes with 5 powder-coated black bolts, which are the correct size for this plate, and easy-to-follow directions.

This high-quality reproduction steel dip stick tube has the correct black EDP coating on it.
This reproduction is the correct replacement for GM part #25525746, which has not been available from GM for several years.
If you ever have to rebuild the engine, you will need this dip stick tube. The bracket on the original dip stick tube usually gets twisted when you try and unbolt it from the engine.

Over the years, the original plates in your G-body car may have been dented, scratched, or corroded.
These high-quality reproduction door sill plates replaces GM part #20008170.
They are complete with the small “Body by Fisher” logo plate in the center. The quality and fit are extremely close to the GM originals. The only difference is a slightly thicker mill of aluminum. Each door sill plate comes with 4 screws.

MINI CONTEST WINNER -
Last week we ran a mini contest on a bracket that is found under the hood of the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals.
We only received 1 correct answer from Brett Johnson in Florida. He’s in the middle of a total restoration of his Grand National. Brett also was the lucky owner who bought the complete Pallex seat cover seat we had a few months back.
The answer is a reproduction of the plastic bracket that secures the grommet holding the speedometer cable to the firewall.
I do not know if cars with the digital dash had this bracket or not. Regular Regals did not use this bracket, from what I can determine. I am also not aware if the 1984 and 1985 Turbo Regals used it. It can be difficult to see because it’s somewhat hidden by the harness behind the engine, which is also held in place with a metal bracket.
I have no idea why Buick used a plastic bracket secured by two 7mm screws. Check your bracket. It’s probably a good chance yours is broken as well. This bracket on my car is broken, and my car has not been subjected to any modifications or disturbances under the hood that would cause it to break.
This new reproduction aluminum bracket is now in stock, part #7801. Since it’s aluminum, it will last. It is the only part that holds the grommet in place on the firewall.

ORIGINAL BUICK DISPLAYS -
Probably 5 or 6 years ago I sold one of the most unique displays I had regarding the new V6 Turbo engine introduced in 1978. I recently was contacted by Tony Remo in New Jersey who bought it. He decided to sell it and he was nice enough to give me the first option to buy it back.
I did make him a deal so I could add this to my personal collection. It is one of the few displays Buick did as far as I know regarding the new 1978 Turbo V6 engines.
Back in 1978 most of us were not paying any attention to the new V6 Turbo Buick powerplants. Back then I had just started my GTO business and was buying nice 1964-1970 GTOs to resell. Most of us did not start to pay attention to the Buick Turbo engine in the Regals until magazines started to write about the intercooled models in 1986 and 1987. Articles back then did many comparisons of the Turbo Regal, notably the Grand National to the Corvette, which was always promoted as GMs halo car.
Buick marched to their own beat by improving the turbo engine each year, while Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Chevrolet stuck with the V8 engine to put power to the road. Chevrolet did have a turbo V6 Monte Carlo version for 1981 and 1982 only. The Buick Regal powered Turbo V6 beginning with the 1984 models, with its great low-end torque on a cool day was something the muscle car buyer quickly embraced. Having a sinister look just added to the mystique. This intensified with the 1986 models which added the intercooler feature.
In some cases, it’s the early model years of a new car that fetch the big money. Examples in that category, include the GTO and the Thunderbird. In both cases, it’s the early years that bring the big dollars rather than the later years. I never even bought any 1971-1974 GTOs years ago and they still in most cases, don’t come close to the values of the 1964 and 1965 models. In 1974 Pontiac had a tent option for the 1974 GTO! Same holds true for the Thunderbirds. The early ones (1955-1957) will always be worth far more than the later larger Thunderbirds.
Even if you had a half dozen restored 1978 Regal Sport coupes with the turbo V6, you would still fall short of the value of equally nice WE4, 1987 Grand National, and at the top of the value chain a GNX all being in the same condition. In other words, your surviving spouse hopes you had a WE4, 1987 Grand National, or better yet a GNX tucked away to cash in!
To a lesser degree around the same time period the Pontiac Fiero came on the scene. While only produced a few years, it is the last two years that garner any real value versus the first year of production. Years ago I did buy a 1987 GT Fiero. They were a nice car. It’s a shame that Pontiac killed the car model and years later suffered the same fate.
PHOTO 2 - The photo in the top left shows the newly acquired original 1978 Buick Turbo lighted display that I bought from Tony Remo. The lower right photo shows it lit. It measures approximately 15 inches wide by 18 inches tall. The metal case is about 6 inches thick and it lights up. I have no idea how these were distributed to Buick dealers back then. In all the years I been involved in the business, I can only recall seeing maybe 1 or 2 for sale ever. The top right photo shows one side of a newer Buick display sign. The lower right photo shows the backside of this two-sided sign.
I bought this display sign at the recent Richard Clark, NC Turbo Nationals. John Follweiler had it for sale. It is basically just a little larger than a typical license plate. This two-sided display sign refers to the various Buick T-Type models and the optional Exterior Sport package, more commonly referred to as the “Blackout Package” option. Until I purchased this Buick display sign, I had never seen one before. Based on that fact, I would say it is quite rare now that it is also over 30 years old.
Any original display sign, especially related to any car U.S. or foreign car that is collectible, today is quite valuable as owners look for the unusual to compliment their pride and joy.
FORDS AT CARLISLE -
This past weekend I attended the Ford event at Carlisle. I try to attend all the Carlisle events during the show season to see what’s new and to see what new ideas I can come up with for our market.
The Ford market, notably the Mustang market, is a huge segment of our wholesale business.
I have never seen so many GT40s in one place as I did at this event. It also marked the 50th anniversary of the Mercury Cougar. There must have been at least 50 of the early Mercury Cougars on the show grounds.
Years ago we had a really nice 1970 Cougar. It was gold with a black top and Eileen drove it for a number of years.
Someday I will have to total up all the cars that we have had over our life span!
PHOTO 3 - The top photos show just some of the GT40s that were on display. The bottom left shows a 1964 Airstream trailer being pulled by a 1955 or 1956 Ford station wagon. Airstream trailers have always been a great investment. Like the VW beetle, they kept with the same format for many years. The bottom right photo shows a one-of-kind custom built miniature 1955 Ford. This scaled-down Ford showed some real workmanship.

SMART ADVERTISING MOVE BY DODGE -
I recently saw a print advertisement for the new Demon which features a red Demon. It shows the car accelerating and you can clearly see the front wheels are off the ground. Impressive ad that would not need any doctoring as this is the first U.S. production car that can lift the front wheels.
Whether you are a GM fan, which my readers are, we can all appreciate how impressive this Dodge entry is. I can’t wait to see one on the street. I am sure in a few weeks Chrysler will have some at the Chrysler Carlisle event where I am speaking. Word has it that Bob Riggle and the Hurst Hemi Under Glass will be there as well.
I have the actual model of the Hemi Under Glass miniature that sat on George Hurst’s desk.
I am really looking forward to that event. I have already heard from several customers that plan to attend Chryslers at Carlisle.
MORE MEMORIES TURBO REGAL RELATED -
Over the years when I was buying Turbo Regals, I did have a few mishaps.
I recall on one trip coming back from Virginia driving around the beltway, a driver to my right was motioning to me about my trailer. I pulled over and behold the trailer was only riding on three wheels! Yet, it still towed like nothing was wrong. I had no idea where that one wheel and tire went. Fortunately, I had a spare. After that incident, I became a creature of habit and checked all the lug nuts on the trailer wheels prior to each trip. A habit you may want to embrace, if you have a trailer.
The one accident I had happened early on. I had a fairly new 1998 Dodge Dakota extended cab truck, V8 powered that was a dream to drive. It was 3 or 4 days before Thanksgiving and I had just picked up a silver or grey Turbo-T in northern Indiana. Coming across northern Ohio I had a kid pass me and as he went around the bend, he stopped suddenly to make a left hand turn.
As anyone knows that has trailered a car, stopping quickly is something that is tough to do. I braced myself so the airbag would not hit me in the face and I plowed into the back of his Chrysler. My truck was totaled. Amazingly, the Turbo-T did not move on the trailer at all.
I got towed to a storage yard, made a phone call to the dealer back home, and they faxed me a temp slip so I could put my truck tag on the Turbo-T and drive it home, which I did. I then borrowed my son’s truck, went back to northern Ohio, put my Dakota truck on my trailer, and brought everything back. I did this still in time to enjoy Thanksgiving at home.
With my Dakota truck totaled, I then bought my first Chevy 2500HD pickup truck with the 8.1 gas motor and Allison transmission. That combination was a huge step up from the V8 Dakota pickup truck. The 8.1 engine was impressive as a tow vehicle, especially going up hills with the Allison transmission. So much so, when rust started to take its toll, I traded that in on the identical GMC cousin version. I found one the same color and with the same powerplant in Lancaster, PA. The dealer even let me switch over my tires and wheels from my Chevy.
That was the only accident I had in all the dealings I had with buying over 320 Turbo Regals.

UPDATE ON THE 1986-1987 TURBO REGAL UPGRADED ALUMINUM RADIATOR -
Max Performance will not be getting more of these new radiators until late July. If you want one when they are available again in late July, you must call our office and reserve one with Christina 215-766-1611x 0. We would not charge your credit card until we can ship the unit. She would also contact you once they are available.
These are by far the best radiator for the money for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal application. Simply put this is a very nice unit with a price that can’t be beat. In some cases, it’s probably almost that much to repair your original radiator, which weighs 10 pounds more and would require major flushing to clean out the transmission and oil coolers.

VALVE COVER LAMP UPDATE -
We appreciate your patience on the valve cover lamp information. My source, who owns the company across from our warehouse, is hoping to find the time to make them next week. This is something he needs to do off hours as time permits.
We actually looked on another website and see where some artists get over $300 for custom valve cover desk lamps. I am hoping to find some of the older V8 muscle car valve covers to make other desk top lamps now that my supplier has his method on making them sorted out. I hope to take at least one valve cover lamp with me to the seminar I am conducting at Castle’s place in Lemont, Illinois the end of June.

If you have a car trailer here are a few tips. Prior to any trip check the lug nuts. Replace the original “Made in China” tires with a quality brand such as Goodyear trailer tires, and balance the wheels. Goodyear tires last a lot longer without cracking due to age and lack of use.

This year’s Chrysler event has a special all new Hurst Nationals July 14th and 15th in conjunction with the Chrysler Nationals. I have been asked to conduct a seminar on Hurst both days, July 14th and 15th. The location of my seminars as well as the other seminars is held just off the grounds from Gate 3 at the Expo Center. They have not yet told me my speaking times.
My granddaughter, Devyn hopes to go with me to help. With Chrysler introducing the Demon this April, my guess is they will have several Demons on display at Carlisle. Hope to see some of my customers at this event. I am as well versed with early Hurst history as I am with Turbo Regals.
As with all my seminars, I will be doing a M&Ms contest in honor of my parents. The Don Garlits autographed connecting rod will make a nice prize!

REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM BRACKET
Over time, the original speedometer cable grommet bracket can break, since it’s only plastic. This reproduction bracket is made in aluminum, so it will last.
It is the only part that holds the grommet in place on the firewall to secure the speedometer cable.

GM BLACK WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES (2)
These are the factory correct GM black metal wiper blades that are correct for all 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, except for the 1987 Turbo Regals that have the chrome package.
None of the available aftermarket wiper blades look like the original Trico metal black ones. Trico was the original supplier to GM. These are original GM wiper blades.

UPGRADED ALUMINUM RADIATOR
Because of the age of these cars, the radiator has lost some of its efficency. Also the factory core size is marginal at best.
These upgraded radiators are 100% brand new, and made by COLD-CASE, a division of Max Performance, who also owns Pypes Exhaust.
This new radiator is bare aluminum. It has two 1" tubes, which are bigger than stock. The core size is 1/4" wider and the end tanks are 1/4" wider.
This radiator has undergone several months of testing by Nick Micale in his car in Arizona.
The original radiator weighs 25.6 lbs, this radiator weighs 15.2 lbs. The overall weigh savings over the stock radiator is about 10 lbs.
This upgraded radiator is designed so it fits exactly like the factory radiator and accepts all the factory original oil and transmission coolant fittings. The factory radiator cap will also fit this radiator. The reproduction radiator top plate and the custom top plate will also fit.
Our first photo shows this new upgraded aluminum radiator. Our other photos show a comparison views of an original radiator and this new aluminum radiator.
NOTE - If you plan to paint the radiator, we highly recommend Eastwood’s Radiator Black 12 oz Satin Finish, part #10340Z @ $12.99 per can. A typical radiator requires 2 coats of paint. Normal engine paints are too thick for radiator use, which will interfere with heat transfer and block air flow over the cooling fins. Also, standard paint tends to flake off metal radiator tanks. The Radiator Black is specially formulated to solve these problems, will not interfere with heat transfer, and is heat resistant to 300°F.

CUSTOM RADIATOR TOP PLATE & HARDWARE
In many cases, the original metal radiator top plate that holds the top of the radiator and secures the housing for the electric fan may be rusted or bent.
This radiator top plate is unique to the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals, making it difficult to find a nice used one today.
This radiator top plate is made by Spoolfool but does not look like the stock original steel radiator top plate. It is fiberglass and not metal. It attaches the same way, however the top surface is smooth. This gives it a more custom look.
Each one is done in black gelcoat polished to a high gloss shine. It weighs only 1 pound versus 3 pounds for the metal plate. It saves a small amount of weight, but more importantly, it will never rust!

This high-quality reproduction steel dip stick tube has the correct black EDP coating on it.
This reproduction is the correct replacement for GM part #25525746, which has not been available from GM for several years.
If you ever have to rebuild the engine, you will need this dip stick tube. The bracket on the original dip stick tube usually gets twisted when you try and unbolt it from the engine.
An excellent replacement item for any engine restoration.

Reproduction DOOR SILL PLATES (2) SET and HARDWARE
Over the years, the original plates in your G-body car may have been dented, scratched, or corroded.
These high-quality reproduction door sill plates replaces GM part #20008170.
They are complete with the small “Body by Fisher” logo plate in the center. The quality and fit are extremely close to the GM originals. The only difference is a slightly thicker mill of aluminum. Each door sill plate comes with 4 screws.
If your installing new carpet or freshening up the interior, this is almost a "must have" item.
This are slightly thicker aluminum. You will be able to buff and sand any scratches out when necessary. Plates come with the “Body by Fisher” stickers in place and include 8 new screws.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
