1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL ENGINE FOR SALE -

We now have the Grand National engine at our house on my small trailer. This is the one from Photo 1 Inner Circle from 8-14-2013. We are selling the engine with the original BRF transmission as one. The transmission case is cracked. Missing on the engine is the alternator, wastegate solenoid, original oil fill tube, air cleaner assembly, and mass air flow sensor. These parts were not on the engine or were destroyed. The exterior of the engine is rusted looking. That is the bad news.

The good news is, it’s a real 8,600-mile drivetrain. It’s all stock, even the plug wires are original.

The price? I am asking $1295 or best reasonable offer. This is for the engine and BFR transmission. I will consider partial trade in Turbo Regal parts.

I would consider delivering it within 50 miles. Ideally, a buyer could buy it and I would hold it for pick up at our September 28th Open House. The only thing I will guarantee is that the engine has less than 9,000 actual miles on it.

PHOTO 1 - The top left photo shows the drivetrain sitting on my small trailer. The top right photo shows the crank fan blade that took the hit in the accident. One blade was chipped from having the intercooler pushed into it. The bottom left photo shows a close up inside the passenger’s side cylinder head. You can see how clean it is. The bottom right photo shows the inside of the passenger’s side valve cover. You can see how clean the inside of the valve cover is.

JUST IN TIME FOR HALLOWEEN -

Now that this local automotive graveyard is getting cleaned out, I was able to walk back into the yard. I saw not one Packard Hearse, but a total of four Packard Hearses, all 1947-1948 vintage. This would be the perfect conversation piece for the front yard for Halloween. With four of them, you could probably build at least two nice ones.

Back in the day, Packards were fairly elegant cars on the same level as Cadillac. Looking back, I can recall owning two Packards. One was a 1940 coupe that I bought from a neighbor. The other was a 1955 or 1956 two-door sedan.

PHOTO 2 -The top left photo shows the front view of two of these Packard hearses. The top right photo shows the back end of two of them. The lower left photo shows a glimpse of the inside of one of them. The lower right photo shows another view of the inside of one of them. Note the original curtains are still hanging on the side windows. If I recall, the one license plate I spotted on one of these cars was 1970. I am not sure what the owner wants for these cars. I would think in the Packard world, one of these restored would be pretty rare.

CORVETTES AT CARLISLE -

This annual event was held this past weekend at Carlisle. If it's not the largest gathering of Corvettes in the country, I don’t know what is. All the big suppliers were there and GM came prepared to showcase the new C7 Corvettes. I heard GM brought at least 30 employees to this event, along with several new C7 Corvettes.

PHOTO 3 - This top photo shows the new Corvette and one of the GM people speaking about the Corvette. The bottom photo shows a highly-modified Corvette. According to the poster with it, only four where built before the manufacturer went to jail. I think the price tag was $90,000.

I did see one car that really demonstrates how the values of the 1987 Corvette compared to the 1987 Turbo Regals differ.

PHOTO 4 - The top photo shows a very nice stock two-tone 1987 Corvette for sale with 117,000 miles. The price was $6,500 or best offer. It was a very nice example, with a good color combination. If you had a same year 1987 Turbo-T in similar condition, you can expect the price to be closer to $8,500 to $9,500. A Grand National would be even higher.

At the same time, some of the used parts for earlier Corvettes are sky rocketing. I saw a vendor advertising an early bumper jack and the price was $1,495. I saw an AC Delco radiator cap for a 1955-1956 Corvette new in the box. It wasn’t gold plated, but the price tag was $500.

The bottom photo shows a C6 Corvette that was a flood car. The current owner had hoped to restore the car, but quickly realized all electronics would have to be replaced. So, he basically gutted the car and offered the shell for a decent price. It's tough to bring back a flood car unless you have a lot of patience and a donor car to work with. Until you take a late-model car apart, you can’t imagine how much wiring is packed into the car.

OWN A C6 CORVETTE OR 2010-2013 CAMARO -

We now have available a Plug-and-play harness that will make your turn signals blink in sequence. The harness is a mere 5 inches long. It installs in minutes. It will not trigger a burned out light signal code. It works on all C6 Corvettes (2005-2013) and all 2010-2013 Camaros. Our Part #3134 and the price is $76.95. These are currently in stock.

2010-2013 Camaro (All Models) and
2005-2013 Corvette C6 (All Models) -
SEQUENTIAL TURN SIGNAL MODULE KIT

This kit is made in the U.S.A. using OEM spec connectors. This product is actually made by a company we have dealt with for over 25 years and who also make parts for GM.
This same kit works on the 2010-2013 Camaro (All Models) and 2005-2013 Corvettes C6 (All Models).

It’s a plug-and-play mini harness (approximately 5" long) designed for the brake/taillight bulb socket on the outside tail lamp housing on the Camaro and Corvette for the years noted above.

Two identical modules come in each kit, one for each side. The sequential delay alters the outer turn signal (brake) light.

The circuitry in each module produces a slight delay, which causes the outer turn signal light filament to come on a bit later than the inboard turn signal light. When it blinks, a sequential step between the inboard and the outboard light displays an outward flowing effect as opposed to both bulbs lighting at the same time. The delay is long enough to display a sequential effect, but short enough to prevent a diagnostics "burned out bulb" error in the vehicle.

NOTE - The brakes lights will both sequence outward when the brakes are applied.

Each kit comes with easy-to-follow directions, and takes only a few minutes to install.

NEW PRODUCTS FROM US -

1981-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
UPGRADED H4 55/60 HEADLIGHTS (4) KIT, HARNESS & HEADLIGHT

This kit will fit every GM car that takes this same size four headlight system, including all 1981-1988 A-Body and G-Body models.

We have examined several of the various H4 headlight systems available and have found one that closely resembles the original style headlight. The headlight is glass and looks very close to the original glass face of your sealed beam headlight. To eliminate possible problems with the factory headlight switch and its ability to handle higher wattage bulbs, we also include a special plug-in harness. This plug-in harness takes the current directly from the battery after you turn on the headlights. The headlight switch is merely used to turn them on. This eliminates any possible problems with the 25-year-old headlight switch.

The stock sealed beam headlights are 45/55 watts. These new H4 formatted headlights already have a 55/60 watt bulbs installed. The plug-in harness that comes with this kit has two 80 amp relays and an in-line fuse to prevent any overloads.

The custom-made plug-in harness is highly recommended in the G-Body cars to eliminate any possible issues with the original headlight switch. Issues with higher wattage bulbs can cause the headlights to flicker or turn off completely.

This plug-in harness also allows you to upgrade to even higher wattage bulbs (maximum 80 watts), if you want. It has been tested by our source running four 100 watt bulbs for over one hour with no problems. The plug-in harness is designed to be virtually undetectable under the hood.

Just upgrading to the 55/60 watt H4 setup will be an improvement on overall lighting, compared to what now is the antique sealed beam format. Once you get this H4 upgrade, you can easily upgrade to higher wattage bulbs, if desired.

Another upgrade that improves lighting while keeping your car stock appearing.

NOTE - We offer the set of four, or individually if you wish to purchase an extra H4 headlight the 55/60 watt H4 bulb as a spare (Part #7532.)

NOTE - We offer the Upgraded Plug-and-Play Harness (Part #7531) if you want to install a headlight kit from another source. This harness will work with all upgraded systems.

Another great upgrade to improve the brightness of the headlights, while retaining a stock appearance.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected].
