GNX ASC POSTER
Long-time Turbo owners will recall when ASC had a full-color GNX poster available.
This poster was given free if you called and requested it back in the late 1980s. It is probably the most recognized poster that was ever done on the GNX and is the same one that we received permission to use on the cover of my first book entitled, “Kirban’s Guide to 1986 & 1987 Buick Turbo Regals.”
I have no idea how many GNX posters ASC made originally, but I know it wasn’t long before the posters were gone.
I recently bought several items from another long-time customer that no longer owned his Grand National, and one item I bought from him was one of these original ASC GNX posters. What makes it unique is the fact he kept the actual mail tube all these years as well.
PHOTO 1 - The photo on the left shows the actual ASC poster. It measures 18 inches wide by 24 inches high. I have one framed in my office at home. The glaring error on the copy is the fact it states “A High-Performance Investment for the Fortunate 500.” As we all know that total was increased to 547 built. ENGINE COMPARTMENT BOLT KIT -
We finally have available a 18-piece bolt kit powder-coated in high gloss black for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal engine compartments.
The kit includes 3 C-clips, which are for the cruise control cable, the throttle cable, and the wastegate actuator. We also include the special bolt with the wide washer that secures the battery hold-down bracket to the core support. I believe that is a one-of-kind bolt for the engine compartment. The five 10mm bolts with the floating washer that secure the bracket that holds the radiator to the core support are also included. The seven coarse thread 10mm bolts that hold the radiator overflow bottle and windshield washer bottle to the inner fenders, the cruise control bracket, and power steering reservoir bracket. For the two different 10mm bolts we include one extra in case you lose one! In each case we use correct automotive hardware - some are new and some original used ones that have been properly cleaned. They are all done in a high gloss black powder coating. The end result is a nice enhancement for the engine compartment.

TURBO REGAL RADIO OPTIONS -
We have been covering the various radio options GM offered for the Turbo Regals and other G-body cars, such as the Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 models.
The Chevrolet division lagged behind as they still used the older style AM/FM radio until around 1986. Looking back, Chevrolet was smart by only having a fixed antenna mast on their Monte Carlo SS models, which eliminated the headaches Turbo Regal owners have if they have the optional power antenna.
Years ago when I was buying various manuals and any literature related to the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, I bought a Delco Sound Service book, which was for Service Managers and Technicians. It is specific for the GM vehicles, mostly covering the Delco Bose system in 1986 and 1987 only. It is over 100 pages and covers troubleshooting various radio problems, theft deterrent system, and even the mobile telephone that was new during this time frame for GM.
PHOTO 4 - The photo on the left shows the cover of this Delco Sound Service Manual. The photo on the right shows a page from the new products in this manual that shows a dealer upgrade available on all A-body cars only without a console. The upgrade is a compact Disc Player. This was offered in 1987! It was a dealer only package and not factory installed. The radio they show with it is the AM/FM Cassette with EQ option. Our vintage Turbo Regals just missed out by a few years of having an optional CD player! The same goes for having a lighted rear view mirror available! I have yet to stumble on one of these units in any of the dead cars I search in the junkyards!

THOUGHTS TO PONDER -
Probably about ten years ago I started to jot down sayings that I mostly made up with the idea of putting them in a book. I never got around to finishing the book and only recently came across my notes. With that in mind, I thought I would put some of these clever sayings in my weekly Inner Circle emails.
Here goes:
The nicer you keep your car, the more chances you have of it being stolen.
Owning a Yugo offers very few advantages. One is not having to worry that it will be stolen.
A bank will never admit it makes a mistake in your account, and even if it does, it will still end up costing you time and money.
The best looking manicured lawn can always be found around any funeral home.
By the time you pinpoint the vibration coming from the rear area of your car, one of your wheels is ready to fall off and has ruined all of the wheel studs.
If you experience a flat tire on a trip, once you remove the spare from the trunk, you will notice you now have two flats. The one on the car you removed and the spare that has been in your trunk and neglected for years.
The tire that gets a flat on the highway will be the one that the service station recently replaced using a high impact air gun that was set at 150 psi!
SPECIAL LIMITED SALE -
Currently we are overstocked with our fiberglass front and rear bumpers. Part #1507 is the front bumper and #1532 is the rear bumper. The retail is normally $190 each. However, if you purchase both the front and rear at the same time, your cost would be $365. You would save $15 by purchasing both. These are for off road use only.
LIGHTED REARVIEW MIRRORS -
We sold all of the lighted rearview mirrors last week. We were able to get several more this past weekend (see Rare Parts Listing).
I discovered the version I am selling was only offered by GM for a few years and only on a few different GM models. They are not very plentiful. The version we are selling is the one that looks most correct and uses a set screw, like your car’s factory rearview mirror. It’s the only version I want to offer our customers.
PLANNING AHEAD -
I will be at the East Coast Buick Nationals only on Saturday, September the 19th. I will be set up as a vendor. I plan to take my Tahoe and I can deliver rear Spoolfool fillers as long as you pay for it in advance.
Keep in mind, these fillers are quite long. They will fit on an angle in a Turbo Regal as long as you do not have someone in your passenger’s seat. These would be unboxed and just wrapped. I do not recommend an open truck!
This would save you potentially $45 to $60 in shipping costs. We can also bring front and rear fiberglass bumpers that would save you $45 or more in shipping. Again these would have to be paid for in advance.
We can also bring any other items, as long as you pay for them in advance. I will probably be parked in the vendor area. I will also be accepting turbo cores, powermaster cores, mass air flow sensor cores, and steering wheel cores for parts credit. This would save you shipping these items to our office.

FOURTH GENERATION CAMAROS & FIREBIRDS -
If you own a fourth generation Camaro or Firebird (1993-2002), we have a few used parts for those cars.
Some of the glove box manual items, speaker grilles for the door panels and side panels, center console lids, and radio control buttons for the steering wheel. We also have several sets of the secondary hood latches and brackets that hold the hood struts done in high gloss black powder coating, complete with matching original hardware.

ORIGINAL GM AC DELCO HEATER WATER VALVE -
Our supplier was able to locate a few more of these original brand new AC Delco heater water valves. You must call our office to order one - 215-766-1611 x 0. The price is $60 plus shipping. It appears this AC Delco heater water valve will be discontinued from GM and AC Delco. It doesn’t appear that we will be getting any more of these. We were able to get a few more and now have 4 of them!

UPPER DASH DUAL CONE SPEAKERS (2) SET
One of the toughest replacement speakers to find are the small ones that go in the upper dash corners. The speaker size is 3-1/2 inches.
Because of the age of these cars, the original speakers may be cracked from the heat or age.
We offer these new 3-1/2" diameter replacement dual cone speakers.
They have been tested by Richard Clark and are an excellent replacement speaker. These are a 2-way Performance Series Dual Cone Coaxial Car Speaker. You will have to modify one or both connectors on the plug end to attach the factory plug harness properly to these speakers. The plug end is basically the same, but the width is different from the original factory speakers.
If you have the Concert Sound II option in the doors, you need to order part #7689.

REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION REAR SEAL
for 200, 200R, 350 and 700 Transmission
This transmission rear seal fits all the 200, 2004R, 350 and 700 transmissions. This seal is a factory replacement part and is made in the U.S.A.
If you find the transmission is leaking out the tail shaft area, this is the seal you need. It can be installed without removing the transmission from the car.

1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
REPLACEMENT STAINLESS STEEL FUEL VAPOR LINE
This is the fuel vapor line that runs from the gas tank to the rubber hose that connects to the fuel vapor canister.
Line is formed to match the original formation, is made from stainless steel, and is pre-bent for shipping. You will have to unbend it to install it in the car.

REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM ID INSERTS (3) SET -
If you have the optional factory Delco am/fm radio with cassette, as pictured, you may be missing one of the ID inserts on one or more of the 3 buttons that control the cassette operation.
The original inserts can be totally missing or, in some cases, the words “STOP-EJECT” may be worn off.
We have reproduced the set of 3 button ID inserts in aluminum (like the originals,) each with a self-adhesive backing.
Inserts are easy to install. You simply clean and dry the button, peal back the protective paper, and affix the insert onto the button.

TIMING COVER GASKETS AND SEALS (7) KIT
This is the complete timing chain gasket kit for the original timing chain cover.
The original front seal from GM was a rope seal, which is subject to leakage.
This front seal included in this kit is a one-piece neoprene seal. Turbo applications need this better designed front seal because of the tremendous pressures the turbo engine builds up internally under boost.

1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
Late-Model RADIO PLUG-IN HARNESS KIT
By using this custom harness, it allows you to plug your existing 1984-1987 Turbo Regal radio harness and antenna lead into this harness, which plugs into the later radios.
This eliminates cutting any of the factory wires. It allows the 12-pin harness to adapt to the 21-pin harness in the later AC Delco radios.
If you have a power antenna option, it will still work.
The harness and antenna lead can be seen in the photo. The big plug to the left is what the stock 3-part harness plugs into.
This is the same harness we have put with every late-model AC Delco CD player we have sold over the years.

The Chevrolet division lagged behind as they still used the older style AM/FM radio until around 1986. Looking back, Chevrolet was smart by only having a fixed antenna mast on their Monte Carlo SS models, which eliminated the headaches Turbo Regal owners have if they have the optional power antenna.
Years ago when I was buying various manuals and any literature related to the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, I bought a Delco Sound Service book, which was for Service Managers and Technicians. It is specific for the GM vehicles, mostly covering the Delco Bose system in 1986 and 1987 only. It is over 100 pages and covers troubleshooting various radio problems, theft deterrent system, and even the mobile telephone that was new during this time frame for GM.
PHOTO 4 - The photo on the left shows the cover of this Delco Sound Service Manual. The photo on the right shows a page from the new products in this manual that shows a dealer upgrade available on all A-body cars only without a console. The upgrade is a compact Disc Player. This was offered in 1987! It was a dealer only package and not factory installed. The radio they show with it is the AM/FM Cassette with EQ option. Our vintage Turbo Regals just missed out by a few years of having an optional CD player! The same goes for having a lighted rear view mirror available! I have yet to stumble on one of these units in any of the dead cars I search in the junkyards!

THOUGHTS TO PONDER -
Probably about ten years ago I started to jot down sayings that I mostly made up with the idea of putting them in a book. I never got around to finishing the book and only recently came across my notes. With that in mind, I thought I would put some of these clever sayings in my weekly Inner Circle emails.
Here goes:
The nicer you keep your car, the more chances you have of it being stolen.
Owning a Yugo offers very few advantages. One is not having to worry that it will be stolen.
A bank will never admit it makes a mistake in your account, and even if it does, it will still end up costing you time and money.
The best looking manicured lawn can always be found around any funeral home.
By the time you pinpoint the vibration coming from the rear area of your car, one of your wheels is ready to fall off and has ruined all of the wheel studs.
If you experience a flat tire on a trip, once you remove the spare from the trunk, you will notice you now have two flats. The one on the car you removed and the spare that has been in your trunk and neglected for years.
The tire that gets a flat on the highway will be the one that the service station recently replaced using a high impact air gun that was set at 150 psi!
SPECIAL LIMITED SALE -
Currently we are overstocked with our fiberglass front and rear bumpers. Part #1507 is the front bumper and #1532 is the rear bumper. The retail is normally $190 each. However, if you purchase both the front and rear at the same time, your cost would be $365. You would save $15 by purchasing both. These are for off road use only.
LIGHTED REARVIEW MIRRORS -
We sold all of the lighted rearview mirrors last week. We were able to get several more this past weekend (see Rare Parts Listing).
I discovered the version I am selling was only offered by GM for a few years and only on a few different GM models. They are not very plentiful. The version we are selling is the one that looks most correct and uses a set screw, like your car’s factory rearview mirror. It’s the only version I want to offer our customers.
PLANNING AHEAD -
I will be at the East Coast Buick Nationals only on Saturday, September the 19th. I will be set up as a vendor. I plan to take my Tahoe and I can deliver rear Spoolfool fillers as long as you pay for it in advance.
Keep in mind, these fillers are quite long. They will fit on an angle in a Turbo Regal as long as you do not have someone in your passenger’s seat. These would be unboxed and just wrapped. I do not recommend an open truck!
This would save you potentially $45 to $60 in shipping costs. We can also bring front and rear fiberglass bumpers that would save you $45 or more in shipping. Again these would have to be paid for in advance.
We can also bring any other items, as long as you pay for them in advance. I will probably be parked in the vendor area. I will also be accepting turbo cores, powermaster cores, mass air flow sensor cores, and steering wheel cores for parts credit. This would save you shipping these items to our office.

FOURTH GENERATION CAMAROS & FIREBIRDS -
If you own a fourth generation Camaro or Firebird (1993-2002), we have a few used parts for those cars.
Some of the glove box manual items, speaker grilles for the door panels and side panels, center console lids, and radio control buttons for the steering wheel. We also have several sets of the secondary hood latches and brackets that hold the hood struts done in high gloss black powder coating, complete with matching original hardware.

ORIGINAL GM AC DELCO HEATER WATER VALVE -
Our supplier was able to locate a few more of these original brand new AC Delco heater water valves. You must call our office to order one - 215-766-1611 x 0. The price is $60 plus shipping. It appears this AC Delco heater water valve will be discontinued from GM and AC Delco. It doesn’t appear that we will be getting any more of these. We were able to get a few more and now have 4 of them!

UPPER DASH DUAL CONE SPEAKERS (2) SET
One of the toughest replacement speakers to find are the small ones that go in the upper dash corners. The speaker size is 3-1/2 inches.
Because of the age of these cars, the original speakers may be cracked from the heat or age.
We offer these new 3-1/2" diameter replacement dual cone speakers.
They have been tested by Richard Clark and are an excellent replacement speaker. These are a 2-way Performance Series Dual Cone Coaxial Car Speaker. You will have to modify one or both connectors on the plug end to attach the factory plug harness properly to these speakers. The plug end is basically the same, but the width is different from the original factory speakers.
If you have the Concert Sound II option in the doors, you need to order part #7689.

REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION REAR SEAL
for 200, 200R, 350 and 700 Transmission
This transmission rear seal fits all the 200, 2004R, 350 and 700 transmissions. This seal is a factory replacement part and is made in the U.S.A.
If you find the transmission is leaking out the tail shaft area, this is the seal you need. It can be installed without removing the transmission from the car.

REPLACEMENT STAINLESS STEEL FUEL VAPOR LINE
This is the fuel vapor line that runs from the gas tank to the rubber hose that connects to the fuel vapor canister.
Line is formed to match the original formation, is made from stainless steel, and is pre-bent for shipping. You will have to unbend it to install it in the car.

If you have the optional factory Delco am/fm radio with cassette, as pictured, you may be missing one of the ID inserts on one or more of the 3 buttons that control the cassette operation.
The original inserts can be totally missing or, in some cases, the words “STOP-EJECT” may be worn off.
We have reproduced the set of 3 button ID inserts in aluminum (like the originals,) each with a self-adhesive backing.
Inserts are easy to install. You simply clean and dry the button, peal back the protective paper, and affix the insert onto the button.

TIMING COVER GASKETS AND SEALS (7) KIT
This is the complete timing chain gasket kit for the original timing chain cover.
The original front seal from GM was a rope seal, which is subject to leakage.
This front seal included in this kit is a one-piece neoprene seal. Turbo applications need this better designed front seal because of the tremendous pressures the turbo engine builds up internally under boost.

1984-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
Late-Model RADIO PLUG-IN HARNESS KIT
By using this custom harness, it allows you to plug your existing 1984-1987 Turbo Regal radio harness and antenna lead into this harness, which plugs into the later radios.
This eliminates cutting any of the factory wires. It allows the 12-pin harness to adapt to the 21-pin harness in the later AC Delco radios.
If you have a power antenna option, it will still work.
The harness and antenna lead can be seen in the photo. The big plug to the left is what the stock 3-part harness plugs into.
