1984-1987 Turbo Regal -
PAINTED BLACK CONNECTING FRONT BRACE

This connecting front brace is painted black for a lasting appearance and comes complete with the mounting hardware and directions. It's made from 1" x 1" x 1/8" thick steel square tube and weighs about 5 lbs. The bar is then primed and painted black.

This connecting brace ties in the front, under the car braces, to form a triangle. It sits under the radiator support, just in front of the intercooler. It is positioned so it does not block the intercooler at all. Even on a solid roof car, such as our Test Car #3 (a 1987 Turbo-T), it made a difference. This brace was designed and is made by our son, Darrell.

NOTE - It will only work if the car has the stock intercooler.

COMMENTS - We gave a prototype brace to Trey Crease of Zero-to-60 Performance and asked him to install it on his 1987 Turbo-T with T-Tops. Here are his comments...

"It is a trick piece that bolts up underneath the radiator support and utilizes pre-existing holes in the frame to attach it. This all-steel brace works perfectly in conjunction with the pair of front braces that Dennis Kirban already sells, that mount from the engine crossmember to the front part of each frame rail.

With this brace installed, it ties the front end together in the configuration of a triangle for added strength. Dennis gave me one to try on my daily driven, high-mileage T-Type that has T-Tops. Adding this new brace will drastically improve the solid together feeling that a hardtop car possesses! I couldn't believe the difference!

Before my car would shake and rattle when driving on a rough road (16" x 8" GNX rims and Comp TAs don't help either), but now the front end has just about the same feeling as my hardtop GN! The only regret I have is that Darrell Kirban didn't think of this idea sooner! Another excellent product for our aging Turbo Regals!"
