MORE ON THE 2011 TurboBuick.com NATIONALS EVENT -
One of the turbo cars for sale at the TurboBuick.com Nationals was an extremely rare 1987 Turbo Limited out of Florida. The seller, Bob Aletto, has done a full restoration on this rare car. The workmanship Bob did is nothing short of amazing. As any owner of a T-Type or Turbo T with the stock rims is aware, it takes a lot of effort to restore those rims to make them look anywhere near close to new again. The wheels on this Limited were impressive.
PHOTO 1 - The top photo shows an overview photo of Bob's car. The lower right photo shows a close up of the extremely rare Electroluminescent Coach Lamps. The trunk ID code for this option is C93 and cost $102 back in 1987. This option was only offered on the Limited models. Sometimes they are referred to as the Opera lamps. It's one of those options that puts this car in the "very rare" category. This car also has the rare optional cornering lamp on the front fender. The trunk ID code for that option is T87 and the cost in 1987 was $57 for this option. You could not order this option if you had the WO2 exterior sport package (black-out package) or a WE2 option, which was a Grand National option. Bob did several nice touches with his restoration including some that become visible at night; upgrading the headlights to HID and the dash lights to LED. He also has a huge binder with all the related paperwork to the car from when it was new, shown in the lower left photo. The car is for sale.
For more info and photos, call Bob at 561-703-5795 or email him at - firstname.lastname@example.org.

PHOTO 2 - At the Piedmont Dragstrip, Paul Castle of World of Motorworks had a large display and was able to get some help from John Wolff's twins that were there that week for an "educational trip." Here you see Raymond on the left and his twin brother John on the right standing with Paul.
PHOTO 3 - As we mentioned last week, Don Cruz ran the fastest times at Piedmont, clocking 5.30 seconds at over 130 mph in the 1/8th mile track. This top photo shows the front end and how Don fabricated the huge circular hole in his grille to accommodate his massive turbo. The lower photo shows Don next to his pride and joy.
PHOTO 4 - Several seminars were conducted Thursday at Richard's shop. This top left photo shows Lawrence Conley speaking to the group. He talked about the early days, his racing involvement with his distinctive car "Tweaked," and how so many improvements have been made since then for racers of Turbo Buicks. It's hard to believe it has been over 20 years! The top right photos shows Richard with Lawrence as he autographed some of the Tweaked models. The lower photo shows Richard Clark testing a powermaster brake unit, something he did many times that week. Richard can test every part of the powermaster system and fix it. Any automotive shop would welcome his experience! He does it for free for turbo enthusiasts at his shop!
BIG ANNOUCEMENT COMING SOON -
You want to keep the weekend of August 20th and 21st, 2011 open. More information will be coming soon.
NEW PART - UPGRADED GREY CONSOLE SHIFTER HANDLE ASSEMBLY
By replacing the stock plastic internals with aluminum this shifter handle is now a stronger handle than the factory one is yet still retains the original factory grey handle itself. This part can be seen on our website.
1983-1987 BUICK REGAL -
UPGRADED GM GREY CONSOLE SHIFTER HANDLE ASSEMBLY
This console shifter handle will fit all console shifters in 1983-1987 Regals, and is correct for ALL 1986-1987 Grand Nationals and Regals that have the grey shifter handle.
The three end bezels on the handle are now made in polished aluminum to look factory. The internal slider that the spring surrounds is now made in aluminum instead of plastic. The adjuster pin is also made in aluminum instead of plastic. The end result is a shifter handle that is internally superior to the factory original shifter handle.
This shifter handle comes completely assembled, ready to install with the horseshoe lock clip as shown in first photo. There is nothing else to buy.
Since you handle this part so much, it suffers a lot of wear. Believe it or not, the handle actually has a grain to it... most now are only smooth because of wear.
So, put that "new" car feel back in your handle. A nice finishing touch to any car! Available now.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - email@example.com

2011 BUICK PERFORMANCE GROUP - JULY 29th - 31st, 2011 - HEBRON, OHIO -
The Buick Performance Group event will feature the Turbo Buick "step children" the T-Types and Pontiac's unclaimed child the Turbo Trans Am. The event is at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.
They have secured Scott Kelly to attend, as well as Denny Manner, Joe Guzek, Dave Roland, Ron Yuile. Denny has also contacted Tom Wallace in hopes that he will attend. The people mentioned have also contacted other retired Buick Engineers, including Mike Doble to have them attend. There will be displays and "tech" talks, so it should be very informative. I don't think there has ever been that many Turbo G-body Engineers in one place at one time. This is one event you do not want to miss this summer!
