KIRBAN REUNION - Saturday, August 20th, 2011 - Rain or Shine
35th ANNUAL COOPERSBURG COLLECTOR CAR SHOW - Sunday, August 21st, 2011

Some of you probably recall our Kirban Reunion events back in the early 1990s. We are planning a special Kirban Reunion, one day only, Saturday, August 20th, 2011, 10 am - 3 pm, at our house and our son's house, 525 and 529 Haycock Run Road, Kintnersville, PA. There is no rain date. (This is about 15 minutes north of our office location). We will have as a special guest Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst," also known as the "First Lady of Racing."

On Sunday in nearby Coopersburg, PA is the 35th Annual Coopersburg Collector Car Show and Flea Market. This event attracts over 400 to 500 cars and Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst" will also be there as well. They have 34 Show Car Classes with trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

We have arranged for her to appear at BOTH events. For more info on the Sunday event, call 215-892-6758 or email - [email protected]

The Saturday event will be more informal. Besides having a great opportunity to talk to Linda and get her autograph on some unique items we will have available, you can get a picture of her by your car in a very nice country setting. Like our past Reunion events, this is a laid back affair, open to all cars. No judging and there is no entry fee! We will have a DJ present spinning oldies from the early Rock & Roll era. We'll also have free Yum Yums donuts and coffee in the late morning.

This is the first time in many years that Linda Vaughn has been this far east, back to where it all began for her career at Hurst. As many of you know, Hurst Performance used to be located in Warminster, PA. You don’t want to miss this opportunity. Be sure to tell all your friends that have performance cars as this a chance in a million to get a photo of her beside their car.

The country setting is ideal. We have ample room as we can also use the field across the street for parking. My son can show you some of the neat things he has made and his body shop which is next door to our house. They have 4 miniature horses that graze in a pasture between our house and their house. This is a unique chance to attend an event that is different than most car events. We hope to have some vendors here as well and other invited guests.

The times for Saturday Kirban Reunion event is 10 am until 3 pm. The location is 525 and 529 Haycock Run Road, Kintnersville, PA 18930. Sunday's event is held at the Southern Lehigh Living Memorial Park located on Route 309 and Fairmont Avenue in Coopersburg, PA 18036.

All these motels are situated in nearby Quakertown just off route 476 and route 663. They are halfway between our houses for Saturday's event and the car show on Sunday. Our event is northeast of Quakertown and Sunday's event is north of Quakertown. Both events are about 20 minutes from these motels.

We are listing the motels in the area. All are fairly new with the exception of the Best Western, which is located in Quakertown itself. The others are within a 1/4 mile of each other by Route 476 and Route 663, also known as John Fries Highway.

I realize for many of you that live a distance away, you won't be able to attend this special Kirban Reunion event in August. It just so happens that the CURRENT July issue of HOT ROD magazine has a 10-page article on Linda Vaughn. If you subscribe to HOT ROD you already have the issue. It's now on the newsstands, so get your copy now.

So, here is the deal - Purchase that HOT ROD July issue and send it to us, and we will have Linda Vaughn autograph it for you. She will sign the very first page of the actual article. This page shows that famous pose of her on the back of a Pontiac. We will also include a Certificate of Authenticity, proof that she signed the magazine for you. The cost to have her autograph your magazine is $20 for a single magazine, or 2 for $30, or 3 for $35. These prices INCLUDE sending it back to you by Priority Mail in the special flat-rate cardboard envelope the post office provides. This flat rate mailer will easily hold 3 magazines.

You have two payment options - You can Paypal me in advance the amount to [email protected] Once done, put a copy of your Paypal receipt in with the magazine(s) or simply enclose a check payable to Kirban Enterprises with the magazines.

Send them to Kirban Performance, PO Box 1199, 6201 Kellers Church Road, Plumsteadville, PA 18949-1199. Be sure to include your email address in with the magazine(s), as we will confirm by email that we received your package. Unless you make a special notation to have her autograph it to someone in particular, it will have her autograph, which will read Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst."

The week after the event, your copy (or copies) will be sent by Priority Mail back to you with a Certificate of Authenticity.

PHOTO 1 - Shows the July issue of HOT ROD magazine that you want to pick up. The second photo shows the first page of the 10-page article on Linda Vaughn "Miss Hurst." This is the page she will personally autograph when she comes here in August.

Remember, by using the special flat rate box from the post office, you can send us 3 copies for Linda to sign and shipping only costs you $4.95. The post office slogan is, "if it fits, it ships!"

Don't miss this opportunity to have her autograph on this timely article in Hot Rod magazine!

Hope to see many of you at this event in August. It's a rare opportunity to meet Miss Hurst personally. We hope to have several other surprises lined up for this event as well.

As reported earlier we did make the trip to Norwalk Ohio for the annual Buick event. I also had a side trip planned to pick up more parts in southern Ohio on my way back, which I also did.

Weather was picture perfect, it only rained the night between the car show and the race day at the track. I got to see several old friends, including Rick Hunt with his famous Xray white GNX. Rick. As many of you know, Rick worked on the original GNX project at ASC many moons ago.

PHOTO 2 - The top photo shows Rick Hunt's famous car. It still looks good on the car circuit even though it was done many years ago.

The one thing about this event, unlike most other Buick events is they get a large number of owners with the 1997-2003 GS Buick sedans, including some of the very rare one-year-only GSX sedans that SLP modified. I remember when these cars were sold in 2003. The GNX package added $4,874 to the total price. I think what probably hurt sales back then was the fact it was priced higher than the supercharged Mustang Cobra that pumped out 385 horsepower.
This lower photo shows the price structure of the GNX package on the GS.

PHOTO 3 - The top photo shows the back end of the GSX with the dual exhaust set up. The lower left photo shows the trunk emblem indicating this car has the Stage 3 package. The lower right photo shows the GSX emblem that appears on the lower portion of the door.

PHOTO 4 - The top photo shows the oldest Buick at the car show portion a 1932 model. The lower left photo is a display board explaining the information on the car. This car was for sale for just $15,000, which I thought was quite reasonable. The lower right photo shows the very simple dash they had back in 1932. Dashes have come a long way since 1932!

The 1984-1987 Grand National / GNX Custom-made armrest cushion, Part #7245, is being discontinued because of the high cost of obtaining the grey pallex material. The regular retail price was $124.95 plus shipping. We have 3 left. The sale price on the very last 3 we have is just $84.95 each plus shipping. You must call our office to get this reduced price, since the regular price still appears on the website. After these few are gone, there are no more available.

We have just reduced the price for Part #6783 - Scanmaster 2 - Diagnostic Tool
It is now only $259.95.

This is one of the most popular tools to properly tune your car. A must for your toolbox!

Here is a link to the Scanmaster 2 on the website -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - [email protected]

Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.

2011 BUICK PERFORMANCE GROUP - JULY 29th - 31st, 2011 - HEBRON, OHIO -

The Buick Performance Group event will feature the Turbo Buick "step children" the T-Types and Pontiac's unclaimed child the Turbo Trans Am. The event is at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.

They have secured Scott Kelly to attend, as well as Denny Manner, Joe Guzek, Dave Roland, Ron Yuile. Denny has also contacted Tom Wallace in hopes that he will attend. The people mentioned have also contacted other retired Buick Engineers, including Mike Doble to have them attend. There will be displays and "tech" talks, so it should be very informative. I don't think there has ever been that many Turbo G-body Engineers in one place at one time. This is one event you do not want to miss this summer!

We will be attending this major event that entire weekend. So, bring us any parts you wanlt to trade in and we especially want powermaster cores. We will be set up as a vendor.
