4-22-09 Inner Circle

Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 4-22-2009

Our Open House this past Saturday was a huge success! The weather was "picture perfect". By our count, 11 dozen donuts and 12 dozen sodas and water were completely depleted by midday.

We want to thank all those who came. It was a great time to see old friends and talk "Buick" again.

The Magna Club had a caravan of 30 Turbo Regals. All together we had between 65-70 Turbo Regals, which included 3 real GNXs.

We had 2 of our test cars on display. There were several other unique performance cars in attendance, such as a G8 Pontiac, a late-model GTO, a late-model Supercharged Mustang, Turbo Trans Am and a 1971 Pantera. As a treat, perhaps the crowning touch, later that afternoon a real ZR1 (638HP) showed up. (No, that was not the top raffle prize of the day).

We will be posting photos with this Inner Circle on our web site along with a link to view some other photos we took.

You can also see additional photos posted on various forum and sites.

A great time was had by all.

Richard Clark was able to attend. He answered questions, checked out a couple powermasters and looked at various cars.

Paul Castle had his new GNX-style full gauge cluster that is a plug-and-play unit on display.

We had our usual M&Ms Guessing Game. 1st Place went to Kristopher Gonzalez (he won the M&Ms and a Buick banner). 2nd Place went to Joe DeNicholas (he won a 2007 Reunion DVD).

We handed out lots of Raffle prizes.

Terry Shaw, Automotive Legal Services was there to help explain insurance issues. He's a licensed appraiser for the collectible car market. He has many customers that have Turbo Regals and is a long-time friend of ours. If you wish to contact him, his number is 1-800-487-4947 toll free. By email it is - [email protected] Be sure your collectible car is properly insured. Terry is someone you can trust to verify an accurate value for your car or any other collectible you may own. Terry agreed to write up a future article for us regarding insurance issues.

It was nice to see Jay's GN out of western, Pennsylvania.

We want to thank him and Pete Hoffman for bringing great used parts to sell. It's getting more difficult to find used parts, so we appreciate these vendors who help to keep these cars on the road.

We want to thank John Follweiler for donating all the sodas, water and ice on Saturday. He has done this for many of our events and we certainly appreciate it.

We want to thank Jason Maxfield for coming down from Canada and helping with the Open House. He's posted some of the great photos he took on the turbobuick.com site.

We want to also thank the local Corvette Club for coming. It's quite a site to see Turbo Buicks and Corvettes lined up on a gorgeous sunny day!

There were LOTS of used parts for sale. Hope you were able to find something you were looking for.

Special thanks to our granddaughter Devyn for handling all my used items. Thanks too, to Mark for helping with the used items. Thanks to John for helping to get the warehouse ready for the event.

Special thanks to Christina for processing all the orders that day. I know people enjoyed the chance to meet her and place a face to the voice on the order desk.

Thanks to Darrell and Carrie for helping with the event and getting lots of the used items pulled off the parts cars in time for the Open house.

Thanks to Denise Hall and Jason Maxfield for giving us some photos for the website.

It always takes a lot of work to have a successful event, so thanks to all who were involved.

THANKS to all the Buick and Corvette enthusiasts that came out to the Open House!

We've posted 4 photos on the website.

PHOTO 1 shows some of the cars lined up against our building.

PHOTO 2 shows members of the Magna Club as they caravaned into our parking lot.

PHOTO 3 show Dennis and Richard Clark checking out Herb's Fishman GNX #402 engine.

We now have the new black headlight bezels in stock, no waiting. We have been informed that the company making the grilles and headlight bezels also makes the grilles for the Lexus for Toyota. That explains why the quality is excellent. Headlight bezels are injected molded using a UV protective plastic to prevent warpage. It makes little sense to mess with repainting your original headlight bezels or being stuck with originals which have warped over the years.

1984-1987 Regal (Including Turbo Models) -
GNX, GRAND NATIONAL, WE4, and Turbo-T with Black-Out Package

Originally, GM used black headlight bezels on all the 1984 through 1987 Grand Nationals, 1986 T-Types, 1987 Turbo-Ts with WO2 package, WE4s and GNXs.

Now you can replace the aged warped headlight bezels with these new ones.

Bezels are made with better material than the original. The satin black is injection molded into the plastic bezels using a UV protective plastic to prevent warpage.

The price is reasonable, comparable to what the GM bezels sold for back in 2005-2006 when they were last available.

NOTE - The manufacturer also makes some of the Lexus and Toyota grilles and headlight bezels, so the quality is assured.

An excellent replacement item for any exterior restoration.

7222 - 1984-1987 Regal (Including Turbo Models) -
GNX, Grand National, WE4, and 1987 Turbo-T with the black-out package -
Reproduction Black Headlight Bezels (2) $179.95 / pair

1987 Regal (fits ALL 1984-1987 Regals, Including Turbo Models) -
GNX, GRAND NATIONAL, WE4, and Turbo-T with Black-Out Package

This is the reproduction of the black grille that was original equipment in all 1987 models; GNX, Grand National, WE4, and 1987 Turbo-T with the black-out package. This grille will fit all 1984-1987 Regal models.

This high-quality one-piece reproduction grille has the satin black injection molded into the plastic using a UV protective plastic to prevent warpage. The one-piece design eliminates possible breakage in the lower area, which is susceptible to breaking away from the main grille. This makes the grille stronger than the original grille.

Richard Clark has compared this reproduction to a factory original GM grille and was impressed with the quality. We're so sure you'll be pleased with this reproduction grille, we offer a 100% guarantee. By far, this is the most popular grille owners like to put on their 1984-1987 Regals. To my knowledge, only one source has manufactured these grilles.

Each grille comes complete with a pair of our reproduction grille springs, Part #7092 (a $18.95 value at no extra charge).

NOTE - The manufacturer also makes some of the Lexus and Toyota grilles and headlight bezels, so the quality is assured.

Another excellent replacement for any exterior restoration.

7215 - 1987 Regal (fits ALL 1984-1987 Regals, Including Turbo Models) -
GNX, Grand National, WE4, and 1987 Turbo-T with the black-out package
Reproduction Black Grille and Reproduction Grille Springs (2) Kit $309.95 / kit

Be careful - I have just been informed by our supplier that there are some of these reproduction headlight bezels and grilles on eBay at a greatly reduced price (less than $309.95 for the grille or $179.95 for the pair of headlight bezels). We have been told that these could possibly be "BLEMS" that did not get returned to the manufacturer. If you are not familiar with the eBay seller, be sure to inquire if these are perfect or blems BEFORE you bid.

The ones we sell and the ones other well-known Buick-related companies are selling are not blems. We were just informed of this and wanted our readers to know.

The best way to stay informed with the upcoming show season is to check out the various Turbo Buick forums.

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] We will answer you. However, if we fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or not remember who requested the item.

THANKS again to all the Buick and Corvette enthusiasts that came to the Open House!

If you are buying any of our used parts from the parts listing above, we can adjust the shipping if you buy more than one listed item. Canadian shipping is higher. Since we are now dismantling cars, look for smaller used items to be available at great prices. Some of which would be great to have as spares, especially since these parts cars are getting harder to find.

You have probably noticed, if something fails to sell in a previous week, we sometimes lower the price slightly the following week. After that, it usually goes the eBay route.

Be sure to tell any friends to get on our FREE Kirban Inner Circle emails, if they are looking for parts.

We now accept Paypal for any of the used parts listed for sale.
