06-12-2013 Inner Circle

Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 06-12-2013

PHOTO 1 - The top left photo shows the red Typhoon that has only 14,000 actual miles. Henry has three Typhoons. In the top right photo we show Henry's restored 27,000 miles 1987 Turbo-T with the black-out package option. He had the bumpers painted to match, which is a popular upgrade that some owners do. One of my personal favorite cars can be seen in the bottom left photo. It is a 1961 Chevrolet Impala with a 409, also known as a "bubble top" model. In the bottom right photo we show the extremely detailed 409 powerplant. This car to most people of that generation represents the very start of the muscle car era. In 1961 very few 409s were produced. The Beach Boys even gave it more publicity with their recording of 409.

PHOTO 2 - A favorite among Oldsmobile collectors can be seen in this top left photo, a 1970 triple-gold 442 W30 with a 4 speed. In the top right photo we show the engine compartment and the ultra rare optional plastic red fender liners. They were an option in 442 models and also in the 1967 GTOs. In the bottom left photo we show the 4-speed shifter and the rare factory 8-track option. In the bottom right photo you see Henry's 18,000-mile red GMC Syclone, which compliments his red Typhoon. Red is one of Henry's favorite colors.

We just highlighted some of his muscle cars that are arranged in a neat setting at his work place. We then went to his home where he stores his late-model cars.

The collection of 10 cars at his house represents some of the top horsepower cars in modern day transportation. In other words, whatever your tastes, one of these cars would bring a smile to your face.

PHOTO 3 - This top left photo shows his ZR1 with just 1,000 miles on it, # 224. The car is slightly modified. The top right photo shows his 2013 Mercedes AMG Black Series coupe. Paddle shifter with 7 speeds, capable of 0-60 times in 3 seconds. The color red is very rare. In the bottom left is one of his favorite cars, a red GTR with just 300 miles. It is also a black edition that will run 0-100 in seven seconds flat. In the bottom right photo is his one token Ford. One of the original Hertz Rental cars and the only one fitted with a Ford supercharger with just 2,000 actual miles.

As you might have guessed, with so much horsepower at Henry's fingertips, the small animals in the neighborhood have to really step up their game when crossing his street to avoid becoming the next road kill!

Next week we will conclude the power tour of Henry's collection.

This yearly event was just held this past weekend at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. The same place where the GM at Carlisle will be held in two weeks.

I met up with Tyler Staley who heads up the event for Carlisle Productions. He told me they have 4 confirmed GNXs that will be coming, including #547, which as you know is the last one built.

They are expecting a very good turn out of Turbo Regals, since they are the featured car at "GM at Carlisle." I hope to see many of you at this event.

PHOTO 4 - In this top left photo we show one of the surviving "Starksy and Hutch" movie cars at the Ford event. In the top right photo we show one of the most outstanding Ford street rods that was indoors on display. In the bottom left photo this all-original Huckster Ford wagon, which was a rare sight to see. In the bottom right photo Ford had a huge display and was set up to do various installs on customers cars. I was there Friday and it rained almost the entire day.

Old Cars Weekly News and Marketplace, which I subscribe to, in their June 20th 2013 issue has a two-page article on the 1976 Buick Turbo Regal Pace Car. This car, as many of you know, marked the beginning of what we have come to enjoy today as the later Turbo Regals. What many readers may not realize is the T-Tops were referred to as Hatch roof back then. The actual full name was Hurst Hatch roof designed by Hurst. In the 1970s, Hurst had expanded their product line and did various Hatch roofs for GM cars.

Once again we find ourselves needing original stock AC Delco correct 1986-1987 Turbo Regal mass air flow sensors. The housing CANNOT be broken. Screens are not important. Each one that meets these requirements is worth $25 in Letter of Credit to us. Help us help other owners keep their cars original.

Here is a link to the videos we currently have up on YouTube:

This 1987 Turbo Regal is a WE4 hardtop with less than 25,000 original miles. The current owner purchased it from me back in July of 2000, when it had about 17,000 miles on it. The car has never seen the rain since he got it from me. Car is located in New Jersey. I can provide a list of upgrades that have been done.

According to the owner, he has invested over $12,000 in various upgrades to make this an outstanding example of a WE4. The paint has no issues and is original. No cracking no fading at all.

This is a well-optioned WE4 hardtop that has not been advertised. This one of the best-of-the-best examples of a sought-after WE4. The price is $20,900. For more details, email me - [email protected]

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -

We now have the correct black color Grand National reproduction wheel well molding sets from GBodyParts. These would also be correct for the earlier T-Types and the 1987 Turbo-Ts with the black-out package option.

While there are others on the market, these match the exact paint code color. You will see the rainbow color through the molding, just like a NOS unit. I also personally checked this against a NOS set that I had still in the GM wrapper.

The shape and alignments are perfect. These have a Manufacturer’s Lifetime Warranty against deterioration.

Moldings are only available as a set. This version is an exact match to the NOS originals.

NOTE - There is a flat rate shipping of $25 because the package is oversized.

You MUST call our office to order - 215-766-1611.

Another great exterior restoration item.

7509 - 1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
Reproduction Black Wheel Well Moldings (4) Set - $199.95 / 4-piece set

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -

These are the signal lamps that sit in the front bumper on every 1984-1987 Regal. Over time, lamps can become chipped, cracked or faded.

We offer two reproduction options, “AMBER” or “CLEAR.”

Originally these cars had amber signal lamps, but we also offer the clear signal lamps, which gives the car a custom look. The clear ones were not an option on the 1984-1987 Regals, but were available on earlier Buick Regal models.

These new reproductions have a manufacturer’s Lifetime Warranty, and are ISO 9001 certified, which is modern day standards.

The amber color is very bright and the clear lenses are the same high quality. The definition of the lines is crisp compared to originals. The newer technology has produced a crisper-looking lens, compared to the original GM lamps from 30 years ago.

NOTE - Our second photo shows both options and a clear signal lamp installed on a Grand National.

Signal lamps are sold as a pair, so they match.

Another great exterior restoration item.

7507 - 1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
Reproduction “AMBER” Signal Lamps (2) Set - $119.95 / 2-piece set

7508 - 1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
Reproduction “CLEAR” Signal Lamps (2) Set - $119.95 / 2-piece set

Got any turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit. Simply email me a list - [email protected]

Also, we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these have to be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] - I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.

At GM at Carlisle is now just over a week away. Hope to see many of our customers at this event.
