1-6-10 Inner Circle

Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members - 01-06-10

If you are anything like me, it will probably take a few weeks before everyone gets used to writing 2010 instead of 2009.

With car show season gearing up in the next few months, it's time to make your travel plans for the Buick related events you hope to attend this year. We have listed some of these events below.

I can't wait for the nice weather since our area has been blasted with more snow than usual and extremely cold weather. It sure makes me appreciate one of the greatest options in vehicles - heated seats!

This week I thought I would share some of the photos related to the cars we have dismantled in the past year.

PHOTO 1 - The photo on the left shows two Grand Nationals partially dismantled in my heated pole building. I can squeeze two in at a time at one end of the garage among our personal cars. In the photo on the right you can see my personal white Turbo-T. You can partially see the nose of our 1997 supercharged Riviera and our 2000 fixed roof Corvette. The car to the far right, next to the Grand National, is a 2006 Hemi Charger. Although you don't see it in this photo, we do have a lift at the other end of the garage. The hoods are up for 2 reasons; 1 - We keep battery chargers on most of the cars. 2 - We have two cats that share the building and it keeps them off the hoods.

PHOTO 2 - Shows my two security guards. The one cat in the foreground is the son of the mother cat in the back. Both have the run of the building with a small cat door built in for them to go outside. They work cheap and around the clock. They are good companions and also keep any rodents out of the building. Fortunately, neither cat is affected by noise or when I start up any of the cars.

PHOTO 3 - If you ever wonder why trunk lids that have a rear spoiler are prone to rust, this photo clearly shows you how that occurs. Over time, dirt builds up under the rear spoiler and traps moisture. In this case, it formed a perfect line of dirt under the rear spoiler. If you use a high-pressure hose when you wash your car, it should help keep this from happening.

PHOTO 4 - We recently stripped a 1985 Grand National that had a 1986-1987 intercooler turbo engine installed. Ironically, everything under the hood was correct, but this photo clearly shows the owner never removed the old style one-piece deflector under the front core support. As many of you know, the 1986-1987 style is cut out in the middle so the air can reach the intercooler scoop. As you can see in this photo, air travel was greatly hindered making the intercooler setup almost useless!

We now have in stock unique horn medallions made in acrylic epoxy so they will not fade or discolor. We have 3 versions available. #7259 is the "Power 6" logo also known as the "Turbo-Six" logo in the correct colors, #7260 is the "Grand National" logo which is identical to the fender emblems. Last, but not least, #7261 is the "GNX" logo. The price is just $12.95 each plus shipping.

These are all GM licensed and simply affix on top of the factory horn medallion on any 1984-1987 Turbo Regal steering wheel.

NOTE - We will soon have more items available that our supplier is getting GM licensed.

Here is a full description of these horn medallions;

1984-1987 Turbo Regal -

We now offer 3 different GM licensed 1-1/2" horn medallion designs for the Turbo Regals.

The "TURBO-SIX" or "POWER 6" logo compliments the Grand National emblem found on the factory headrests.

The "GRAND NATIONAL" logo is identical in appearance to the ones found on the Grand National fenders. This is far more colorful than the grey and black original tri-shield horn medallion that came in the center of the original steering wheel.

The "GNX" logo medallion is identical to the actual GNX grille and trunk lid emblem. This looks like something that should have been included in the GNX package.

These horn medallions are made from acrylic epoxy, so they will not fade or discolor in the sunlight. Each has an adhesive backing and simply affixes over the existing plastic horn center found on every 1984-1987 Turbo Regal factory steering wheel.

Because of the material, these horn medallions are difficult to photograph, but the quality is excellent.

Another nice finishing touch for any interior.

We have ironed out all the details and signed all the contracts that will enable us to produce several limited production items that will be autographed personally by one of the biggest and recognized names associated with the muscle car era.

This person is an icon in the industry, regardless of what make performance car you own from the sixties into the present. If you think about it, only a handful of names would be associated with just about every make of muscle cars that were built during the original muscle car era.

We should have the full details available shortly. Neither item we are doing has ever been produced before and autographed. It's a project we have been trying to get off the ground for several months.

We will have all the details ironed out so we can announce it next week to our readers.

Certificate of Authenticity with a photo will go with each one.

Here is a chance to own an actual piece of Top Fuel Racing History from the man ranked #1 with 144 national wins under his belt - Don Garlits.

In Top Fuel Dragster racing, Don Garlits is at the very top with 144 National title wins. His list of accomplishments with his Swamp Rat dragsters would fill this entire page.

We were fortunate enough to purchase a limited amount of the actual connecting rods and pistons that were used in his Top Fuel Dragsters between 2001-2003, when he retired from Top Fuel racing.

His dragsters make between 6,000 and 8,000 horsepower. These connecting rods and pistons get replaced after just two runs in the quarter mile!

According to Don, the connecting rods originally sold for around $100 each. The piston was made by Venolia and sold for around $65 each.

Our son, Darrell made this unique stand that showcases the connecting rod with the piston attached. Both have been autographed and dated as to which year the engine was used on the track.

You can also purchase just the autographed rod (#7254) or just the piston (#7255).

The Certificate of Authenticity also includes a photo of Don actually autographing these connecting rods and pistons for us.

Here is a rare chance to own a piece of Top Fuel history. Supplies are limited, since he retired from Top Fuel racing in 2003.

An excellent memorabilia collectible for any car enthusiast!

Used Hemi Piston with Connecting Rod, Custom-made Display and Certificate of Authenticity $139.95*

Used Hemi Connecting Rod and Certificate of Authenticity $79.95*

Used Hemi Piston and Certificate of Authenticity $69.95*

*SPECIAL PRICES are for a limited time. We will offer special prices for our Turbo Buick customers before we market them to the Hemi market.

Got any Turbo parts you are not using? Why not cash them in for parts you need with a Letter of Credit or cash for the upcoming holidays? Simply email me a list - [email protected] - Also we are still buying dead or partially dead 1984-1987 Turbo Regals under $4,000 that are within 250 to 350 miles of our location.

It appears that the GM supply of the factory 1986-1987 GM factory original molded boost line kits are dwindling and may already have disappeared from GM's warehouses inventory. We currently have a decent supply of them.

This is a very critical part, for any 1986-1987 Turbo Regal, since it is needed to control boost. They have 3 specially formed hoses with a special size diameter T in between two of the molded hoses. These also have the GM wording on them. Over a period of time, heat can cause the hoses to swell and crack. While they last, we have them available for $44.95, Part #6644. Supplies are limited.

Here is a link to the Boost Line Kit on our web site:

We have the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal - GM Air Flow Duct (from turbo to MAF sensor), Part #6536 in stock for $61.95. Just a few left now.

We also have a very limited supply left of brand new 1984-1987 Turbo Regal cam sensors at $165 each.

We still have a few brand new GM right hand side marker lights with the blackout package. This is the market light that attaches to the side of your headlight bezels. Price is $61.95

If you are interested in any of these parts, you must call our office to purchase it. Some of these close out items are just about gone from the GM parts system.

I apologize for the delays on this project. However, we are very close to finalizing the GNX exhaust system. A special introductory price will be in effect once we are ready to ship. We can assure you, with Richard Clark behind the project, each system will be checked so fit is assured.

The system is all mandrel bent using 304 stainless, and will include the center-to-center mufflers and clamps. This system is all 2-1/2 inch and will outflow the factory GM system.

Each system will come with easy-to-follow directions and will be drop shipped directly from North Carolina.

We will be making it available to other wholesale suppliers as well.
