I have gray, white, or black colored socks with the Power Six logo embroidered in the correct colors. I also have on poster board a copy in color of one of the very few ASC ads promoting the GNX. I have grey and black Terry Cloth embroidered Grand National socks. I also have in black, gray, and white GNX embroidered Terry Cloth shop towels.

PHOTO 2 - The top left photo shows the 3 different color embroidered Power Six socks. The top right photo shows the 3 different color embroidered GNX Terry Cloth shop towels. They are black, gray, or white. The bottom left we show the Grand National embroidered Terry Cloth shop towels in black or grey. The bottom right shows a copy of the rare ASC advertisement mounted on a poster board.

POWERMASTER BRAKE SYSTEM -

I know it's been asked many times over the years but ranking right up there with “How do I make my Turbo Regal quicker?” Is the question of “My brake light coming on and the pedal is getting hard”? The short answer is unless you address the problem now the day is fast approaching when your Turbo Regal will not stop! Buick should have put in the owner's manual a section specifically related to the powermaster brake unit and general maintenance it requires. Specifically the importance of replacing the brake fluid so it stays clean.

Had Buick done that and owners followed this important advice some of the problems may have been avoided or postponed a few more years. On the other hand, had Buick done that we would not have sold as many rebuilt powermaster brake units over the years. Now several companies offer a rebuilt service. Not sure what other rebuilders do but ours all get a new brake bowl and brake switch. We probably have gotten done far more than any other source. Cardone used to get them rebuilt for us at their Texas location. Because of the volume we do they moved that operation back to their Philadelphia location.

Problem now companies like myself and others face is the motors are burnt up which requires another investment on top of the standard rebuild format. I don’t have exact figures, but on average 1 out of every 3 or 4 units we now get in as cores has a burnt motor. Cardone does not redo the windings for the motors. They have to pull the windings and send back to me and I then take it to another company to have the windings rebuilt and reship back to Cardone. Just like the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals notably the GNX and GN models are rapidly escalating in value, the power master I foresee being a $1995.00 cost for a rebuilt unit before too long. Only question regarding that is when?

MORE NEW TURBO REGAL PARTS COMING SOON -

Our goal is to add several new Turbo Regal parts each week to expand our product line.

MORE HURST TRIVIA -

In an earlier Hurst story I told the story of working at a Sinclair gas station at night and putting a Hurst 3-speed shifter in my 1954 Ford coupe. I ended up with a hole in the floor that was probably twice as big as it needed to be.

Few years back local to me was a long time friend of mine who sold 8 by 10 black and white photos of various local old car dealerships, gas stations, and cars. I remember being at one show and one photo at the top of his one pile of photos caught my eye. It was a photo of that small Sinclair gas station that sat where the road splits into two roads at the south end of Jenkintown, PA. It was the very same SInclair gas station that I worked at as a 16 year old kid!

If Jenkintown sounds familiar to you it's because the TV comedy show “The Goldbergs” is based on the Goldbergs who lived in that area. They even mention the movie theatre in Jenkintown in one of their TV shows. This Sinclar gas station was only a few blocks south of that theatre. The Sinclair gas station is long gone.

We recently discussed the Hurst wheels that Hurst made and the can that 2 Hurst wheels would come in. In the next photo I show the original Hurts can I have signed and on top of it is one of the later Hurst wheels that is probably a 19 inch wheel! Hurst also made silver and gold colored Hurst wheel cufflinks. Back then I think they sold for less than $10 a set. Today be prepared to spend $500 or more for an original pair. They have been reproduced. The ultra rare Hurst wheel item I have is one of one. I have in the original frame from Hurst the 3 layered hand done artwork of the Hurst wheel. By 3 layered you can't tell from the photo but each part of the illustration is a separate part laid on top. I have turned down several thousand for that artwork. Something that was once a flop has proven to be worth a lot of money today.

PHOTO 4 - The top left photo is a black and white picture of the Sinclair Gas Station I worked at while in High School. The top right photo Shows both an original Hurst wheel with a new 19 inch Hurst wheel sitting on top of it. The bottom left photo shows in my one glass cabinet the silver and gold original colored Hurst wheel cufflinks from over 50 years ago. The bottom right photo shows one of the rarest original items in my Hurst collection, the original hand down Hurst wheel artwork in the original frame. This hung in one of the offices at Hurst. It is also over 50 years old.

RIP - LOU OTTENS -

His name may not be familiar to you, but if you are over the age of 50 I am fairly certain you would know one product he invented that was used in cars for several years. I am referring to the audio cassette. First came the 8-tracks in cars around 1967 followed by the cassette in the early 1970s. His audio cassette was first exhibited in 1963. He later was involved with the CD disc.

THESE HAVE BECOME QUITE COLLECTIBLE -

I am referring to the mini bikes from years ago mostly the Honda models. There is an antique shop near me that I know the shop owner. I have sold him a number of items over the last few years. He usually has between 8 and 10 of these mini bikes for sale. Some are 3-speed and some are 4-speed. He fixes them up. Some of them can fetch up to 5 grand!

He also has one of the steel blue Pepsi machines that I remember quite well from maybe the 1960s. I believe it takes bottles. It is all original. Priced at $2250. If any of these items interest you I can provide you with his phone number. He is very big on old signs and soda advertising and machines.

TIPS AND IDEAS YOU HAVE TRIED -

If you have an idea or tip or a product idea, send it to my email [email protected]

TIP FROM KIRBAN -.

Remember the various GM licensed hood insulator pads we are selling are not like the ones made several years ago. The imprinting is done by a heat transfer so they last. This is the same format that GM used originally. Some other sources may still be marketing the other version, however the versions we sell the format is a heat transfer so they last.

IMPORTANT - INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SHIPPING ADDRESS –

If you are returning any cores or products, it is important that you send them to the correct address.

KIRBAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS
529 HAYCOCK RUN ROAD
KINTNERSVILLE, PA 18930

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.

If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

NEW FRONT SWAY BAR BOLTS (4) SET

One of the unique bolts is the ones that secure the two metal brackets that hold the front sway bar to the frame.

After over 30 years, these unique bolts become rusted. One of our long-time customers researched the bolts and found a source that makes these unique bolts.

Bolts are Grade 12.9, which have a minimum tensile strength of 180,000 psi and are coated to prevent rust.

These are 12 point flange bolts. These have a slightly different shoulder, but still work.
Our photo shows four original rusted bolts at the top and four new replacement bolts at the bottom.

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.

When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.

Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

ABOUT OUR EMAILS -

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.

IN CLOSING -

URGENT REQUEST - Please, if you have any original 1986-1987 Turbo Regal turbos, cash them in with us for the $175 Letter of Credit. This helps us help our customers obtain the rebuilt turbo they need for their car.
