REBUILD SERVICE FOR ORIGINAL POWER ANTENNA

We have a solution for a broken power antenna for your Turbo Regal! I found a guy who is a one-man operation and has a real passion for another GM car. He not only rebuilds them and freshens up the internals, but he replaces that plastic cable with a steel cable that has a plastic outer sleeve on it. It is the same diameter as the original cable is. This is far superior over the factory plastic cable. He then reassembles it, tests it and sends it on its way all within 3 to 5 days time.

NOTE - Because of the scarcity of parts, he can only rebuild 1984-1987 original equipment power antennas. Original antennas have a riveted bracket, collapsible tube, and a hex-head style tip. Whatever tip (hex-head tip or replacement mushroom tip) is on the antenna mast you send to be rebuilt will be the same tip you will receive back on the rebuilt antenna. Here are the steps our source does to rebuild your power antenna: Checks overall condition to determine he has all the parts needed. Disassembles and cleans the unit to remove all dirt. Checks mast for straightness and does minor straightening, if necessary. Replace bearing with clean units that have been pressure lubricated, commutator is resurfaced, and the brushes are degreased. The factory plastic cord/cable is replaced with a braided steel cord/cable with a plastic coating. The mast is then cleaned and re-lubed, and assembled. The mast is then attached to the motor body. The worm gear is greased with Mobil 1 products. Unit is fully tested up and down several times for smooth, quiet movement and proper stops. It is then carefully packaged for return shipping.

We can offer this service to our customers for the total price that includes him shipping it back to you. Each rebuilt unit comes with a Manufacturer's One-Year Warranty, however, you will have to pay any shipping costs.

Remember, NEVER cut any wires when you disconnect the antenna under the hood. Do not send any of the attaching parts such as the bezel on the fender, and remove any brackets that unbolt from the housing prior to shipping it. You will be shipping it direct to the rebuilder, not us.

To order - First contact - [email protected] - to place the order with your credit card information. We will then give you a "RO" number (Repair Order) and the address to ship the power antenna to. The RO number is proof it has been paid for. You must attach a label with your name and address to it so you are assured of getting yours back. NOTE - Do NOT send any of the bezel parts (metal bezel and plastic bezel under the metal one.) Only send the basic antenna. You must unplug the under-the-hood 3-wire harness (gray, white and green wires) from the antenna. Do NOT cut any of the wires. He can also straighten any mildly bent masts at no extra cost to my customers! Any masts that are broken or kinked cannot be repaired. The key is that the internal plastic cable is replaced with a steel cable. He has been doing this for over ten years for other car models. So, before you consider a new power antenna from us or another source, this may be a better solution.

This is an excellent Power Antenna restoration option.
