1986-1987 Turbo Regal & 1989 Turbo Trans Am - YOUR ORIGINAL 120 amp ALTERNATOR - REBUILT with All New Internal Parts Using YOUR ORIGINAL HOUSING, Pre-tested with Manufacturer's Limited Lifetime Warranty If you have an original 120 amp alternator on your 1986-1987 Turbo Regal or 1989 Turbo Trans Am, we now offer a service to have it rebuilt using all new internal parts. Each unit is carefully cleaned and rebuilt to look as close as possible to the way it looked originally. Our first photo shows an original alternator on the left and the same unit after it was rebuilt on the right. It is then pre-tested to be sure it is producing the proper amperage and comes with a Manufacturer's Limited Lifetime Warranty. Send us your original alternator, payment, plus shipping and we will have it rebuilt and sent back to you, usually within one week. NOTE - If you have any other alternators that you may want to have rebuilt retaining the original housing, call our office. We also have other makes and models besides GM rebuilt. Working closely with a local source, we can assure quality control. Each alternator is hand assembled, pre-tested and comes with a Manufacturer's Limited Lifetime Warranty. Most of the other alternators we have found use a generic pulley, which is not the correct diameter to maintain proper tension on the serpentine belt. We have also found that most do not have a black pulley. The stator section, which is sandwiched between the front and rear housing, is supposed to be black like the pulley. The stator on your rebuilt alternators will be black, like the originals. Since each alternator is pre-tested, you can be assured it is producing a minimum of 120 amps. The proper amps and charging is a critical function to assure the electronics are getting the proper volts to the complete electrical system. Some of you may be running additional fuel pumps and this makes this even more important. This is a unique service where you can retain the original date-coded alternator.
