1983 INDIANAPOLIS BUICK JACKET -
This past Friday I went to a huge indoor swap meet that is held every year in January in our area. Basically, it’s the first swap meet for the New Year. You seldom see at swap meets anything Buick related. Besides running into a few old friends and getting some ideas, I did buy a brand new 1983 Indianapolis Buick Jacket from a seller that had a lot of really cool rare items for sale.
PHOTO 1 - Here is a photo of this rare 1983 Buick Indianapolis 500 Jacket. It is a two tone brown in color. It has an embroidered patch, as you can see, on each side of the zipper. The jacket is size small so would make for a nice display. You can tell it’s old because on the information tag on the collar it says MADE IN THE USA! Nothing appears on the back. The jacket is brand new and is in near perfect condition.
PHOTO 2 - Shows a close up of the two embroidered patches on the front of the jacket. Also visible is the small metal emblem attached to the zipper. It says Buick and has the Olympic symbol on it.
BREAKING NEWS BLACK AIR DVD AVAILABLE -
The recently released movie Black Air produced by Andrew Filippone Jr. has now been made available to wholesalers. We have our first shipment due to arrive next week. It will not be set up on our website until next week to order through our website.
However, you can call our office now and place your order for the Black Air DVD. As a bonus you will also receive absolutely free the 1990 Kirban Reunion DVD that we just had put on a DVD format. This is a 25 minute DVD of the Buick portion of the 1990 Kirban Reunion Event we held at the Johnsville airbase. It was at this event that the last GNX was there and we had 98 Grand Nationals lined up bumper to bumper. A sight that I am sure will never ever be repeated again.
The price of the Black Air DVD with the bonus 1990 Kirban Reunion DVD is just $20. They would be shipped by Priority mail for $26 total. The $6 is for USPS Priority Mail shipping. PHOTO 4 - Here is another cartoon that Matt Blair did for us years ago. It is dated 1998. I am not sure if this was ever published. We will be announcing the winner of the name the character for our new cartoon series next week. The artist already has the first two sketched out for us.
DISTURBING NEWS FOR MALE READERS -
As times goes on, more and more of us are living to age 100. However, the odds if you are a male are not as favorable compared to the woman. It is reported that currently 83% that make it to 100 and beyond are woman. Men make up the 17% difference. If you need further proof visit any nursing home and see firsthand the difference in the population of the residents!
YUGO CONTEST RESULTS -
The 1990 Yugo convertible in last week’s Barrett-Jackson Auction went for $11,000. Taking first place with his $10,599 guess was Mike Burianek. Coming in second with a guess of $9,800 was Bob Hudspith. We have notified both winners and their prizes will be sent to them this week. I also ran this contest on a GTO forum that I am part of and the winner over there hit it exactly at $11,000. This might have been the cheapest car at the Barrett-Jackson Auction!
UPDATE FROM INNER CIRCLE 01-16-2013 -
The second photo in that group from 1-16-2013 Inner Circle has been identified by one of our long time customers. The dogs name was Shasta and she lived to be 16 years old. The car owner is John Lebetski out of Chicago. He still has the car and the windows will still pass the dollar bill test after all these years. John works for Paul Anka and a few years back he got us some great seats for Paul Ankas concert in nearby Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. John also owns one of our Turbo Regals that I actually delivered to him in Chicago maybe 8 or 9 years ago.

OLD TOWN Kissimmee, Florida. Central Florida Grand National and T-Type Club are putting on their 14th Annual Turbo Buicks event at Old Town charity car show to benefit the charity New Hope for Kids. Unlike previous events this event is open to all G body cars including the Monte Carlos, Oldsmobile Cutlasses, and Pontiac Grand Prix. This event is held at the Carlisle Fairgrounds, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Turbo Regal. I have signed on to conduct two seminars on Saturday, June 22nd. One seminar will be on Turbo Regals and the second one will be on Hurst. So, mark your calendar.
Carlisle, as many of you know, puts on some of the largest car shows and swap meets in the USA and has done so for over 25 years. It is centrally located in Pennsylvania, just west of Harrisburg, PA and minutes off the PA turnpike and Route 81. Click on the link below for more details.
