COLD CASE RADIATORS FOR THE 1986 AND 1987 TURBO REGAL -
As we mentioned last week, we now have several of the Cold Case upgraded aluminum radiators in stock. My son has made the minor modification to the top channel part. This is the radiator of choice that Lorenz Racing and Performance has used for the last several years. According to Brian Lorenz, this is by far the best radiator of all the radiators currently available for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. He has installed over 40 of them. It's the only brand he uses. He explained to me what needs to be done to make installation easier. He sent us a pattern so Darrell can do the modification. This modification is done to each radiator prior to shipping them plus we include some basic tips to make installation easier. This modification is not visible once installed since the upper radiator plate hides it.
Keep in mind, other companies that may be selling the Cold Case radiator are probably not doing this modification in advance. This modification requires a special air tool to make a clean cut. Plus, you need to know where to cut it. It also needs to be done prior to installing it. We make this necessary modification done prior to shipping. You also save almost 10 lbs, not to mention get a new upgraded radiator that will flow far better than the 33-year-old one currently in your car. You almost pay that much to get the stock radiator re-cored as you would this new lightweight one! The part number is #7457. We recommend you call our office to order one. KIRBAN CUSTOMS BOOK “HINTS AND TIPS FOR BUYING AND BUILDING KIT CARS” -
Recently my son Darrell came across a carton of the paperback book he wrote back in 2000 on buying and building kit cars. In high school this was his first venture into custom building. This 110 page paperback book even has a chapter on body work. It even pictures a very young Devyn, our granddaughter, in a Lamborghini pedal car that John Mulligan, a long time California customer, got for us over 20 years ago for Devyn!
In the book is a photo of the Batmobile that went to Six Flags in New Jersey. He did some minor touch up work on that car. The book is very informative. Supplies are limited. Darrell will autograph each book so they are special to our customers.
What is interesting is you could own a book from 3 generations of Kirban! Darrell’s book, my book on Turbo Regals, and you could go on ebay and purchase any of my Dads books under his name Salem Kirban. His writing was not about cars but two subjects that have major importance, Health and Bible Prophecy.

1979 CHEVROLET PICK UP TRUCK FOR SALE -
This truck recently popped up for sale on consignment at a car lot near me. The body and paint is extremely nice. What makes this truck rare in this area is it is from Alabama and has zero rust. It is powered by an Oldsmobile V8. I didn't hear it run. The one sticker on the windshield indicates the owner was probably in the military stationed at the Birmingham Air Base. The truck is the long bed model. It has a new bedliner in it. Interior appears to be all original and needs attention. The asking price is $12,000.

RECORD BREAKING SNOWFALL -
My original plan was to post photos from several massive snow falls from years past. These past several days have provided new snow records for our immediate area. The Allentown, PA area which is near where we live has been hit hard with snowfall levels of 16 to 24 inches! As I write this it is still snowing 2 days later! We got no mail, no UPS, nothing Monday and probably nothing today. Yesterday I must have shoveled the walkway over a dozen times just to keep up with the snow. I got enough exercise to last me for several months!
PHOTO 4 - Here are four views of this record breaking snowfall. In the one photo all that is visible on my wife’s car is a part of the one door handle and the mirror. My SUV, a 2010 Mercury Mariner is in another photo parked in front of our pole building. The other two photos show an overall view. I will tell you the story next week as to why my SUV is not in the building. In its place sits a 11,000 mile original Typhoon that belongs to a customer of ours. A very unusual story.

1987 TURBO-T - 33,800 MILES - ONE OWNER - HAS BEEN SOLD
Within a week's time as I expected we got several serious offers on this original owner Turbo-T. We have a deposit and the buyer from the New England area is working out the details to get his new Turbo-T transported to his home. Not many Turbo Regals in all stock condition come up for sale 33 plus years later, which made this an exceptional buy.
COLLECTOR CAR COLLECTION UPDATE - THREE TURBO REGALS & ONE SYCLONE -
The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. These cars are located in Tennessee.
In each case he has the original parts that he removed years ago when the modifications were done. Some of them have the very desirable AVC GNX style dash installed. All the below cars have been fitted with SECO alarm systems and keyless entry. In my opinion the blue 1986 T-Type is a fairly rare car due to its color. Plus it has low miles. All these cars have always been in Tennessee so rust is not an issue. All have been garaged most of their life.
He has a white 1987 Turbo Regal with T-Tops. He did not buy this car brand new. It has the M & A Casting aluminum heads on them that were introduced in the early 1990s time frame. I had one of the first sets on our personal Grand National. Back then they sold for around $2500 a set. This car has been raced and has run in the high 6 second range for the ⅛ mile. The car is slightly twisted due to its racing history and the fact it has T-Tops. Miles is about 75,000. The price is $25,000 OBO.
The 1987 Grand National he purchased this car brand new and has 112,000. It has the rare astro roof option. It was repainted many years ago 1984 Corvette firemist color. Reasonably priced at $20,000 OBO.
The light blue Turbo Regal is a 1986 T-Type Regal. He purchased this car brand new. Due to the original poor quality paint job he actually had the Buick dealership respray the car under warranty. Internally stock with zero rust. Car has approximately 67,000 miles. It is a hardtop. The price is $25,000 OBO.
He also purchased the Syclone brand new. Like all the others listed here this also has been garaged since new. Mileage is approximately 9,500. The price is $44,900 OBO. The last three digits of the VIN is 294 which I believe is also the number of the Syclone produced.

If you go to Philadelphia listing for CraigsList a 18,000 miles 2000 Porsche Boxster black on black, manual shift with sport package is for sale for $18,200. This just came up for sale. Window sticker, garaged since new A-title. These are fun little cars that handle extremely well. The right color combination.
NOW IN STOCK -
We just got in another supply of the popular black 9-piece trunk kits. The black 9-piece kit outsells the grey 9-piece trunk kit. Either kit finishes the trunk area far better than the flimsy piece of carpet Buick tossed in the trunk. I suggest you call our office if you want either trunk kit. The part number is #6510 for the grey kit and #7764 for the black trunk kit. The supplier is always backed up so orders take awhile. The 9-piece trunk kit is identical to the factory option. Plus it hides that spare and jack that you probably don’t have in the trunk the way Buick did it from the factory! It may be several weeks before we get any more in stock.
STORY FROM MY PAST -
This story goes back to the summer of 1962 probably before most of you reading this was even born yet. I was just 15. Back then my Dad rented two store fronts. One store he had a gift shop and the other store front he had his offices for his advertising agency. In the basement of the one store he had two automatic inserting machines. These machines were capable of doing mass mailings. We could literally do several thousand mailings on a typical shift. Back then this was known as junk mail. My Dad had one major insurance company account that he did huge mailings for. The local post office was the end building in this strip mall which made it very easy to transport the mailings.
My one sister, Doreen who is 7 years younger than me and has more time on her hands then I do, likes to research people from the past that family members used to know or distant relatives. The first area she checks on the internet is the obits...it makes no sense searching any further if the person she is seeking is already 6 feet under the ground.
The other day I threw out a name Kenny Finger who when I was 15 he was 17 smoked Newports, always wore a white T shirt and had that Fonz look. Cool guy who worked with me that one summer running these two inserting machines. I never forgot his name since it was so unusual. After a bit of research I found one Kenny Finger who turned out to be a lawyer about the right age in New York. I struck out with that one as he was not the same Kenny Finger. I then found another Kenny Finger who is 75 years old and lives just a few towns from where we live.
I called and left a message on his phone without providing much details nor my last name. He calls me back the next day and he remembers quite well that summer we worked together. He even was able to pull up his W2 tax sheet from 1962 showing he made $224 that summer! It was also the very first W2 tax form he got. I guess we were overpaid back then! Not sure how legal it was for both of us being minors running these big machines for my Dad!
We talked about old times and said he gave up smoking a few years after that. He recalls my Dad's secretary had a VW bug and one day after she had parked it in the parking lot him and I and another guy were able to wiggle the car and repark it facing the other direction. We got in major trouble for that stunt!
Like me Kenny married his high school sweetheart….His Mom is still alive. He has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. It was good to recall ole times. Funny thing is he has gone to some of the same big car shows in the area I have. We may have even passed each other and not realized we had a connection. Had he been wearing a white t-shirt with a pack of Newports tucked up his sleeve and riding a black bike I would have instantly remembered him. This was also during a period of my life when my Dad's taste in music crossed over to my taste in music rock and roll! The following year my Dad would move his company to Glenside, Pennsylvania and step up and buy a Heidelberg printing press.
Now both Kenny Fingers are seeing if they are somehow related. I sent this story to the wrong Kenny Finger to show I had found the one I was seeking. They have been in touch with each other due to my emails to see if they are somehow related. Kenny Finger, the lawyer who is 80 years young and resides in New York, just sold his 1974 Jaguar XKE last year.

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal add $10. You would receive $160 Letter-of-Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the
brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.
If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

Good news - We now accept Classified Ads in our weekly Inner Circle emails. Over the years several customers have asked about placing an ad in our weekly Inner Circle.
Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

One thing that has been missing all these years for the Turbo Regal owner is a nice stainless black powder-coated license plate frame. We have designed several with a unique tagline referring to some of the most collectible high-performance car models.
We have come up with the various designs shown in Photo 2.
The handsome metal black license plate frame measures 12-1/4″ x 6-1/4″, which is the standard size to hold state license plates. Frames are made from stainless steel, then powder-coated black for lasting quality.
Included with each frame is a packet of new attaching hardware, complete with black caps so the hardware doesn’t show.
Each frame comes with the decal already affixed. Most of the decals are white wording on a black background. Several decals are two colors (white and red) on a black background.
Notice the font style for the tagline “HIGH OUTPUT V6” decal matches the 3.8 sfi turbo hood emblems.

Originally Buick put all the documents in a plain clear plastic bag. Since these turbo cars didn’t come with a holder in the car, we’ve designed one.

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

According to Brian Lorenz, this is by far the best radiator of all the radiators currently available for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals. He has installed over 40 of them. It's the only brand he uses. He explained to me what needs to be done to make installation easier. He sent us a pattern so Darrell can do the modification. This modification is done to each radiator prior to shipping them plus we include some basic tips to make installation easier. This modification is not visible once installed since the upper radiator plate hides it.
Keep in mind, other companies that may be selling the Cold Case radiator are probably not doing this modification in advance. This modification requires a special air tool to make a clean cut. Plus, you need to know where to cut it. It also needs to be done prior to installing it. We make this necessary modification done prior to shipping. You also save almost 10 lbs, not to mention get a new upgraded radiator that will flow far better than the 33-year-old one currently in your car. You almost pay that much to get the stock radiator re-cored as you would this new lightweight one! The part number is #7457. We recommend you call our office to order one. KIRBAN CUSTOMS BOOK “HINTS AND TIPS FOR BUYING AND BUILDING KIT CARS” -
Recently my son Darrell came across a carton of the paperback book he wrote back in 2000 on buying and building kit cars. In high school this was his first venture into custom building. This 110 page paperback book even has a chapter on body work. It even pictures a very young Devyn, our granddaughter, in a Lamborghini pedal car that John Mulligan, a long time California customer, got for us over 20 years ago for Devyn!
In the book is a photo of the Batmobile that went to Six Flags in New Jersey. He did some minor touch up work on that car. The book is very informative. Supplies are limited. Darrell will autograph each book so they are special to our customers.

1979 CHEVROLET PICK UP TRUCK FOR SALE -
This truck recently popped up for sale on consignment at a car lot near me. The body and paint is extremely nice. What makes this truck rare in this area is it is from Alabama and has zero rust. It is powered by an Oldsmobile V8. I didn't hear it run. The one sticker on the windshield indicates the owner was probably in the military stationed at the Birmingham Air Base. The truck is the long bed model. It has a new bedliner in it. Interior appears to be all original and needs attention. The asking price is $12,000.

RECORD BREAKING SNOWFALL -
My original plan was to post photos from several massive snow falls from years past. These past several days have provided new snow records for our immediate area. The Allentown, PA area which is near where we live has been hit hard with snowfall levels of 16 to 24 inches! As I write this it is still snowing 2 days later! We got no mail, no UPS, nothing Monday and probably nothing today. Yesterday I must have shoveled the walkway over a dozen times just to keep up with the snow. I got enough exercise to last me for several months!
PHOTO 4 - Here are four views of this record breaking snowfall. In the one photo all that is visible on my wife’s car is a part of the one door handle and the mirror. My SUV, a 2010 Mercury Mariner is in another photo parked in front of our pole building. The other two photos show an overall view. I will tell you the story next week as to why my SUV is not in the building. In its place sits a 11,000 mile original Typhoon that belongs to a customer of ours. A very unusual story.

1987 TURBO-T - 33,800 MILES - ONE OWNER - HAS BEEN SOLD
Within a week's time as I expected we got several serious offers on this original owner Turbo-T. We have a deposit and the buyer from the New England area is working out the details to get his new Turbo-T transported to his home. Not many Turbo Regals in all stock condition come up for sale 33 plus years later, which made this an exceptional buy.
COLLECTOR CAR COLLECTION UPDATE - THREE TURBO REGALS & ONE SYCLONE -
The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. These cars are located in Tennessee.
In each case he has the original parts that he removed years ago when the modifications were done. Some of them have the very desirable AVC GNX style dash installed. All the below cars have been fitted with SECO alarm systems and keyless entry. In my opinion the blue 1986 T-Type is a fairly rare car due to its color. Plus it has low miles. All these cars have always been in Tennessee so rust is not an issue. All have been garaged most of their life.
He has a white 1987 Turbo Regal with T-Tops. He did not buy this car brand new. It has the M & A Casting aluminum heads on them that were introduced in the early 1990s time frame. I had one of the first sets on our personal Grand National. Back then they sold for around $2500 a set. This car has been raced and has run in the high 6 second range for the ⅛ mile. The car is slightly twisted due to its racing history and the fact it has T-Tops. Miles is about 75,000. The price is $25,000 OBO.
The 1987 Grand National he purchased this car brand new and has 112,000. It has the rare astro roof option. It was repainted many years ago 1984 Corvette firemist color. Reasonably priced at $20,000 OBO.
The light blue Turbo Regal is a 1986 T-Type Regal. He purchased this car brand new. Due to the original poor quality paint job he actually had the Buick dealership respray the car under warranty. Internally stock with zero rust. Car has approximately 67,000 miles. It is a hardtop. The price is $25,000 OBO.
He also purchased the Syclone brand new. Like all the others listed here this also has been garaged since new. Mileage is approximately 9,500. The price is $44,900 OBO. The last three digits of the VIN is 294 which I believe is also the number of the Syclone produced.

Window sticker, garaged since new A-title. These are fun little cars that handle extremely well. The right color combination.
NOW IN STOCK -
We just got in another supply of the popular black 9-piece trunk kits. The black 9-piece kit outsells the grey 9-piece trunk kit. Either kit finishes the trunk area far better than the flimsy piece of carpet Buick tossed in the trunk. I suggest you call our office if you want either trunk kit. The part number is #6510 for the grey kit and #7764 for the black trunk kit. The supplier is always backed up so orders take awhile. The 9-piece trunk kit is identical to the factory option. Plus it hides that spare and jack that you probably don’t have in the trunk the way Buick did it from the factory! It may be several weeks before we get any more in stock.
STORY FROM MY PAST -
This story goes back to the summer of 1962 probably before most of you reading this was even born yet. I was just 15. Back then my Dad rented two store fronts. One store he had a gift shop and the other store front he had his offices for his advertising agency. In the basement of the one store he had two automatic inserting machines. These machines were capable of doing mass mailings. We could literally do several thousand mailings on a typical shift. Back then this was known as junk mail. My Dad had one major insurance company account that he did huge mailings for. The local post office was the end building in this strip mall which made it very easy to transport the mailings.
My one sister, Doreen who is 7 years younger than me and has more time on her hands then I do, likes to research people from the past that family members used to know or distant relatives. The first area she checks on the internet is the obits...it makes no sense searching any further if the person she is seeking is already 6 feet under the ground.
The other day I threw out a name Kenny Finger who when I was 15 he was 17 smoked Newports, always wore a white T shirt and had that Fonz look. Cool guy who worked with me that one summer running these two inserting machines. I never forgot his name since it was so unusual. After a bit of research I found one Kenny Finger who turned out to be a lawyer about the right age in New York. I struck out with that one as he was not the same Kenny Finger. I then found another Kenny Finger who is 75 years old and lives just a few towns from where we live.
I called and left a message on his phone without providing much details nor my last name. He calls me back the next day and he remembers quite well that summer we worked together. He even was able to pull up his W2 tax sheet from 1962 showing he made $224 that summer! It was also the very first W2 tax form he got. I guess we were overpaid back then! Not sure how legal it was for both of us being minors running these big machines for my Dad!
We talked about old times and said he gave up smoking a few years after that. He recalls my Dad's secretary had a VW bug and one day after she had parked it in the parking lot him and I and another guy were able to wiggle the car and repark it facing the other direction. We got in major trouble for that stunt!
Like me Kenny married his high school sweetheart….His Mom is still alive. He has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. It was good to recall ole times. Funny thing is he has gone to some of the same big car shows in the area I have. We may have even passed each other and not realized we had a connection. Had he been wearing a white t-shirt with a pack of Newports tucked up his sleeve and riding a black bike I would have instantly remembered him. This was also during a period of my life when my Dad's taste in music crossed over to my taste in music rock and roll! The following year my Dad would move his company to Glenside, Pennsylvania and step up and buy a Heidelberg printing press.
Now both Kenny Fingers are seeing if they are somehow related. I sent this story to the wrong Kenny Finger to show I had found the one I was seeking. They have been in touch with each other due to my emails to see if they are somehow related. Kenny Finger, the lawyer who is 80 years young and resides in New York, just sold his 1974 Jaguar XKE last year.

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal add $10. You would receive $160 Letter-of-Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the
brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter-of-Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.
If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

One thing that has been missing all these years for the Turbo Regal owner is a nice stainless black powder-coated license plate frame. We have designed several with a unique tagline referring to some of the most collectible high-performance car models.
We have come up with the various designs shown in Photo 2.
The handsome metal black license plate frame measures 12-1/4″ x 6-1/4″, which is the standard size to hold state license plates. Frames are made from stainless steel, then powder-coated black for lasting quality.
Included with each frame is a packet of new attaching hardware, complete with black caps so the hardware doesn’t show.
Each frame comes with the decal already affixed. Most of the decals are white wording on a black background. Several decals are two colors (white and red) on a black background.
