ANNUAL M&Ms CONTEST RESULTS –
We have our two M&Ms contest winners.
Taking First Place with the closest guess to the actual count is Jim Wilson out of Mechanicsburg, PA. His guess of 1,078 was the closest to the actual count of 1,130. Years ago, Jim bought his first Grand National, a 1986, from us. Since then, he bought a 1987 with just 22,000 miles on it. Jim has been a customer of ours since 2000. He reached his M&Ms guess by figuring out the volume of the jar based on the dimensions I provided in the clues. He then figured out the basic size of an M&M. I think Jim should display the M&Ms container at car shows when he shows his 22,000-mile Grand National.
Coming in Second Place with a guess of 981 was Christine and John Thuerck from Depew, New York. John and Christine have almost one Turbo Regal for every day of the week! They own a 1986 T-Type, 1987 Turbo-T Limited and 2 of the 1987 Grand Nationals. One 1987 Grand National has less than 3,000 actual miles on it. They are frequent customers of ours and have been a customer since we started back in the fall of 1987.
Congrats to both of these winners and to all those that participated in our annual M&Ms contest. There is always next time!
MORE KIRBAN AUTO EASEL PHOTOS –
We are already getting interest from some of the companies we have contacted about selling our new Kirban Auto Easel Car Show Display Hood Latch Stand.
The other day I spotted a 2000 Miata at my friend’s repair shop. I had my prototype Auto Easel with me.
I was curious if our new Kirban Auto Easel would fit the popular Miatas. I noticed it had the hood latch on the core support. The Auto Easel fit perfect. I called the local Mazda dealer and they informed me the hood latch was same on the Miata for 1998 through 2004. Moss Motors in California, is one of the largest suppliers of parts for those cars and has been a customer of ours for years. They want more information on the Auto Easel.
We plan to market this new product to all the different car and truck antique/collector markets. The price structure will give these companies a good markup. We took better photos of both versions of the Kirban Auto Easel Display Hood Latch Stand, shown in Photo 1 and Photo 2. Remember, you are not limited to either direction the display panel can go nor are you limited to the display sign size. As long as the information is first mounted on a poster board or printed on a poster board, the display panel will hold any size sign you have.
PHOTO 1 – We show #7880, the version with the POLISHED handle. The pictures show it vertical, horizontal, at a different vertical angle, and the last photo shows all the parts that are included in the kit. Not pictured is the detailed directions that will come with each kit in its own custom box. The actual clamp part is powder-coated glossy black with the bottom portion dipped in a rubber coating to prevent any scratch issues when it is clamped to the hood latch assembly.
PHOTO 2 – We show #7881, the version that includes a brand new original HURST handle. The pictures show it vertical, horizontal, at a different vertical angle, and the last photo shows all the parts that are included in the kit. There is no name more associated with manual shifters than Hurst. Personally, I think this version will prove to be the most popular among the earlier muscle cars. Many of those show cars probably have a Hurst shifter, which makes this display stand even more appealing to those car owners.
In either case once people see it on show cars, we expect sales to climb. The overall design and placement is perfect for displaying a sign with your car or truck. It’s centered in front of your open hood, at the perfect angle and height, so it’s easy to read.
THE AUTO EASEL - CAR SHOW DISPLAY HOOD LATCH STAND UPDATE–
The two versions of this unique Auto Easel car show display stand are now in production at a nearby machine shop that makes various parts for us. As a customer and Inner Circle member, we have a special Introductory Price for both versions.
At this writing neither car show display stand is yet on our website. You must call Christina to order it. She would not charge your credit card until we are able to ship it to you. We expect to be filing orders the first week of March. This is way before most car shows will start in the midwest and east coast areas of the country.
This design of attaching to the factory hood latch will fit all 1982-1987 G-Body cars. The clamp portion is rubber coated to prevent scratching the actual hood latch. The entire kit is made in the USA.
It is the first product that has been made involving 3 generations of Kirbans – me, my son and my granddaughter.
It is also the first product we developed that will fit virtually every U.S. or foreign car from the 1960s thru current. We have test fitted it to a 1967 GTO and a 1957 Chevrolet. It also fits Mustangs from 1979 thru 2004. Almost all cars and trucks have the hood latch assembly on the core support. Vehicles that have the hood latch attached to the hood have an opening on the core support for the latch to lock into. Our clamp design fits inside the opening on the core support on the cars we have test fitted thus far.
You would mount your information on the display panel. It can be mounted vertical or horizontal. The information must first be mounted on a poster board so it stays rigid on the aluminum panel. By using a poster board for the information, you can go as big as 20" x 24" in either direction.
This clever method to secure a display sign eliminates any issues with wind blowing it over or someone tripping over your sign. It positions your display stand dead center on the front of your show car or truck and at the perfect reading height.
The angle gives several inches of clearance to the front header panel as well as the header ornament that appears on some of the Turbo Regal models.
Both the polished stainless handle and the Hurst handle have the same angle and are the same length. Handles are interchangeable. The clamp part is powder-coated glossy black. All of the hardware is stainless in each kit. The end result is a display stand that does not distract from your show car. I just know that once car show participants see this on show cars this summer, they will want to know where they can purchase it.

TEN REASONS TO OWN A TURBO REGAL –
In the mid-1990s we designed two different T-shirts listing the “Ten Reasons I Own a Turbo Regal” and the “Top Ten Reasons I Own a Grand National.”
It was an amusing T-shirt that hit all the popular gripes and concerns regarding the now collectible Turbo Regals. When we were designing the new Auto Easel, I decided to get a few small poster size prints made of those two different “Top Ten Reasons I Own…” a Turbo Regal or Grand National.

NOTE - It gives you about 2 inches of clearance with the Regal header panel ornament. Even if the display was to get bumped, since the hood latch runs side to side, the display stand would only fall sideways on the core support and not fall frontwards on the header panel.
KIRK DOUGLAS R.I.P –
Kirk Douglas - one of the last of his stature, if not the last from the golden age of movie making. One can only imagine all the big names he met back when he started in the movie business. Kirk had a long and tremendous career in movies. He had an amazing life spanning 103 years. His wife still managed to out-live him and is 100 years old.
IMPORTANT NOTE CONCERNING OUR ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE REUNION EVENTS –
After hosting an Open House every year since 1988 (31 years), we have decided we will not be doing it any more. It was a long run and that was very popular among Turbo Owners. Over the early years, we had some very special guests attend our Reunions for the GTO and the Turbo Regal owners.
CARDONE REBUILT POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS –
Finally, some good news. Cardone has brake bowls in stock so they are rebuilding powermaster brake units for us. Contact our office 215-766-1611 to purchase a rebuilt unit. Many of the powermaster cores now require the windings in the motor to be rebuilt as they are burned out. This not only costs us more money, but also time since we have another company rebuild the windings. Our units carry a One Year Manufacturer’s Warranty to the original owner.
1985 REGAL LIMITED CHEVY V8 POWERED – STILL AVAILABLE - FOR SALE –
One of our relatives local to us is having us sell their custom-built 1985 Regal Limited that has been in the family since new. This 1985 Regal Limited has always been garaged, never hit, or smoked in. Our son Darrell repainted this car the factory color back in 2003 for $2,000. At 128,000 miles, the engine was converted with a brand GM 350/330 HP crate motor at a cost of $5,200. This was backed up with a rebuilt turbo 400 transmission. A local shop that we deal with redid the rear putting in a new eaton posi with, I believe, to be 3.08 gears. Gear ratio is perfect for high speed cruising.
Being a Limited, it is very well optioned and even the power antenna works. It has Bilstein shocks. Tires are fairly new. The tire size is 205/75 by 14s. Riding on the original 14 by 6 steel wheels with full Regal wheel covers.
With just a few Turbo Regal upgrades this would be an extremely nice solid handling Regal. I you install set of 16 by 8s on all four corners, a Turbo-T steering box, a rear sway bar, and a leather wheel, it will not only ride better, but look better too. The doors shut like they are brand new. The driver’s power pillow seat is the only interior part that shows very minor wear along the edge and around the power switch. A set of tasteful 3 gauges hang of the bottom edge of the dash under the radio. The power seat motor runs but does not function. Headliner will need to be replaced. The steering column has movement in the one section of the tilt.
The current mileage is 135,000, so that is less than 10,000 miles on a brand new GM crate motor. Electric fan with a V8 radiator handles the cooling. The AC has been completely rebuilt. Car has long-branch headers that dump into a new GNX exhaust system. Bigger front sway bar was installed. MSD ignition and an Edelbrock 4-barrell carburetor are fed with a cold air system. The adult owner has never once driven it hard to chirp the tires. Car still has its original half-padded roof. Body and paint are real nice with zero rust. All the stainless and emblems are in good condition. Nothing is missing. Bumpers also are close to new. All the critical labels are still intact, including the SPID label on the inside trunk lid. This car is a bargain and has had excellent care since new.

We just discovered that Fed Ex will not forward any packages that are sent to the PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use Fed Ex. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

This Grand National is still available. This extremely well-optioned, low-mileage 1987 Grand National that is for sale. The owner wants me to sell it for him. He has had it 6 years. The miles on this Grand National is a mere 48,200. Options include factory moon roof, power windows, power locks, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, concert sound, power trunk, digital dash, power seat, working power antenna, and posi rear. The Grand National is located in Maryland.
It has a beautiful repaint done prior to his owning it. He had paint correction done and ceramic coating this past Spring. The car really shines, probably 100%, better than original. Everything functions 100%, even the original AC.
Additional features include embroidered floor mats, few chrome goodies under the hood, Kirban adjustable fuel regulator, hot wire kit, 60lb injectors, adjustable wastegate, TT chip, new bumper fillers, new fuel tank, and has dual a-pillar gauges and console gauge package. He checked the car with a magnet and shows no putty or filler anywhere. It has the factory chip guard along bottom of the car.
According to the owner Mike, the Grand National has had 4 previous owners. The car shows no accidents or any indication that mileage is not accurate.
The price is $26,900. This Grand National is priced to sell. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of a well-optioned 1987 Grand National that would measure up to the quality of this one at this price. A factory moon roof with a power seat option is extremely rare. This car this Spring would easily bring several grand more than it is priced at this fall.

1987 GRAND NATIONAL WITH T-TOPS FOR SALE –
Located in Virginia, this1987 Grand National has had the same owner for 22 years. He has been a long-time customer of ours. He had his Grand National at the Kirban Reunion and Birthday Bash in 2007. The trunk ID label has been autographed by Molly. Richard Clark has rebuilt the transmission. It has 76,000 original miles on it and has been garage kept. The motor internally is all stock except for new valve springs and timing chain. It has the rear seat brace kit, HR rear suspension, 3” down pipe, 60lb injectors with turbo tweak chip, vacuum brakes, and it also has the Jason Cramer front mount intercooler. Owner is Tom Jones. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.

We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

This new car display stand solves the issue of having a display sign for your show car or truck being blown over by the wind or having someone trip over it if it’s leaning against your show vehicle. This stays secure by either of the front tires. The area you put your actual information on has 3 different positons so it can face in 3 different directions.
SPECIFICATIONS - This plate is angled at the perfect height for easy reading. It is made in steel. Each part is then powder coated. The display stand is comprised of 3 parts and no tools are needed to assemble. Each end of the stand locks into the base and the top display plate. Once assembled, its overall height is 45 inches high. It weighs 12 lbs. The pole length 41 inches. The pole angles out from the fender. ANNUAL M&Ms CONTEST RESULTS –
We have our two M&Ms contest winners.
Taking First Place with the closest guess to the actual count is Jim Wilson out of Mechanicsburg, PA. His guess of 1,078 was the closest to the actual count of 1,130. Years ago, Jim bought his first Grand National, a 1986, from us. Since then, he bought a 1987 with just 22,000 miles on it. Jim has been a customer of ours since 2000. He reached his M&Ms guess by figuring out the volume of the jar based on the dimensions I provided in the clues. He then figured out the basic size of an M&M. I think Jim should display the M&Ms container at car shows when he shows his 22,000-mile Grand National.
Coming in Second Place with a guess of 981 was Christine and John Thuerck from Depew, New York. John and Christine have almost one Turbo Regal for every day of the week! They own a 1986 T-Type, 1987 Turbo-T Limited and 2 of the 1987 Grand Nationals. One 1987 Grand National has less than 3,000 actual miles on it. They are frequent customers of ours and have been a customer since we started back in the fall of 1987.
Congrats to both of these winners and to all those that participated in our annual M&Ms contest. There is always next time!
MORE KIRBAN AUTO EASEL PHOTOS –
We are already getting interest from some of the companies we have contacted about selling our new Kirban Auto Easel Car Show Display Hood Latch Stand.
The other day I spotted a 2000 Miata at my friend’s repair shop. I had my prototype Auto Easel with me.
I was curious if our new Kirban Auto Easel would fit the popular Miatas. I noticed it had the hood latch on the core support. The Auto Easel fit perfect. I called the local Mazda dealer and they informed me the hood latch was same on the Miata for 1998 through 2004. Moss Motors in California, is one of the largest suppliers of parts for those cars and has been a customer of ours for years. They want more information on the Auto Easel.
We plan to market this new product to all the different car and truck antique/collector markets. The price structure will give these companies a good markup. We took better photos of both versions of the Kirban Auto Easel Display Hood Latch Stand, shown in Photo 1 and Photo 2. Remember, you are not limited to either direction the display panel can go nor are you limited to the display sign size. As long as the information is first mounted on a poster board or printed on a poster board, the display panel will hold any size sign you have.
PHOTO 1 – We show #7880, the version with the POLISHED handle. The pictures show it vertical, horizontal, at a different vertical angle, and the last photo shows all the parts that are included in the kit. Not pictured is the detailed directions that will come with each kit in its own custom box. The actual clamp part is powder-coated glossy black with the bottom portion dipped in a rubber coating to prevent any scratch issues when it is clamped to the hood latch assembly.
PHOTO 2 – We show #7881, the version that includes a brand new original HURST handle. The pictures show it vertical, horizontal, at a different vertical angle, and the last photo shows all the parts that are included in the kit. There is no name more associated with manual shifters than Hurst. Personally, I think this version will prove to be the most popular among the earlier muscle cars. Many of those show cars probably have a Hurst shifter, which makes this display stand even more appealing to those car owners.
In either case once people see it on show cars, we expect sales to climb. The overall design and placement is perfect for displaying a sign with your car or truck. It’s centered in front of your open hood, at the perfect angle and height, so it’s easy to read.
THE AUTO EASEL - CAR SHOW DISPLAY HOOD LATCH STAND UPDATE–
The two versions of this unique Auto Easel car show display stand are now in production at a nearby machine shop that makes various parts for us. As a customer and Inner Circle member, we have a special Introductory Price for both versions.
At this writing neither car show display stand is yet on our website. You must call Christina to order it. She would not charge your credit card until we are able to ship it to you. We expect to be filing orders the first week of March. This is way before most car shows will start in the midwest and east coast areas of the country.
This design of attaching to the factory hood latch will fit all 1982-1987 G-Body cars. The clamp portion is rubber coated to prevent scratching the actual hood latch. The entire kit is made in the USA.
It is the first product that has been made involving 3 generations of Kirbans – me, my son and my granddaughter.
It is also the first product we developed that will fit virtually every U.S. or foreign car from the 1960s thru current. We have test fitted it to a 1967 GTO and a 1957 Chevrolet. It also fits Mustangs from 1979 thru 2004. Almost all cars and trucks have the hood latch assembly on the core support. Vehicles that have the hood latch attached to the hood have an opening on the core support for the latch to lock into. Our clamp design fits inside the opening on the core support on the cars we have test fitted thus far.
You would mount your information on the display panel. It can be mounted vertical or horizontal. The information must first be mounted on a poster board so it stays rigid on the aluminum panel. By using a poster board for the information, you can go as big as 20" x 24" in either direction.
This clever method to secure a display sign eliminates any issues with wind blowing it over or someone tripping over your sign. It positions your display stand dead center on the front of your show car or truck and at the perfect reading height.
The angle gives several inches of clearance to the front header panel as well as the header ornament that appears on some of the Turbo Regal models.
Both the polished stainless handle and the Hurst handle have the same angle and are the same length. Handles are interchangeable. The clamp part is powder-coated glossy black. All of the hardware is stainless in each kit. The end result is a display stand that does not distract from your show car. I just know that once car show participants see this on show cars this summer, they will want to know where they can purchase it.

In the mid-1990s we designed two different T-shirts listing the “Ten Reasons I Own a Turbo Regal” and the “Top Ten Reasons I Own a Grand National.”
It was an amusing T-shirt that hit all the popular gripes and concerns regarding the now collectible Turbo Regals. When we were designing the new Auto Easel, I decided to get a few small poster size prints made of those two different “Top Ten Reasons I Own…” a Turbo Regal or Grand National.

NOTE - It gives you about 2 inches of clearance with the Regal header panel ornament. Even if the display was to get bumped, since the hood latch runs side to side, the display stand would only fall sideways on the core support and not fall frontwards on the header panel.
KIRK DOUGLAS R.I.P –
Kirk Douglas - one of the last of his stature, if not the last from the golden age of movie making. One can only imagine all the big names he met back when he started in the movie business. Kirk had a long and tremendous career in movies. He had an amazing life spanning 103 years. His wife still managed to out-live him and is 100 years old.
IMPORTANT NOTE CONCERNING OUR ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE REUNION EVENTS –
After hosting an Open House every year since 1988 (31 years), we have decided we will not be doing it any more. It was a long run and that was very popular among Turbo Owners. Over the early years, we had some very special guests attend our Reunions for the GTO and the Turbo Regal owners.
CARDONE REBUILT POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS –
Finally, some good news. Cardone has brake bowls in stock so they are rebuilding powermaster brake units for us. Contact our office 215-766-1611 to purchase a rebuilt unit. Many of the powermaster cores now require the windings in the motor to be rebuilt as they are burned out. This not only costs us more money, but also time since we have another company rebuild the windings. Our units carry a One Year Manufacturer’s Warranty to the original owner.
1985 REGAL LIMITED CHEVY V8 POWERED – STILL AVAILABLE - FOR SALE –
One of our relatives local to us is having us sell their custom-built 1985 Regal Limited that has been in the family since new. This 1985 Regal Limited has always been garaged, never hit, or smoked in. Our son Darrell repainted this car the factory color back in 2003 for $2,000. At 128,000 miles, the engine was converted with a brand GM 350/330 HP crate motor at a cost of $5,200. This was backed up with a rebuilt turbo 400 transmission. A local shop that we deal with redid the rear putting in a new eaton posi with, I believe, to be 3.08 gears. Gear ratio is perfect for high speed cruising.
Being a Limited, it is very well optioned and even the power antenna works. It has Bilstein shocks. Tires are fairly new. The tire size is 205/75 by 14s. Riding on the original 14 by 6 steel wheels with full Regal wheel covers.
With just a few Turbo Regal upgrades this would be an extremely nice solid handling Regal. I you install set of 16 by 8s on all four corners, a Turbo-T steering box, a rear sway bar, and a leather wheel, it will not only ride better, but look better too. The doors shut like they are brand new. The driver’s power pillow seat is the only interior part that shows very minor wear along the edge and around the power switch. A set of tasteful 3 gauges hang of the bottom edge of the dash under the radio. The power seat motor runs but does not function. Headliner will need to be replaced. The steering column has movement in the one section of the tilt.
The current mileage is 135,000, so that is less than 10,000 miles on a brand new GM crate motor. Electric fan with a V8 radiator handles the cooling. The AC has been completely rebuilt. Car has long-branch headers that dump into a new GNX exhaust system. Bigger front sway bar was installed. MSD ignition and an Edelbrock 4-barrell carburetor are fed with a cold air system. The adult owner has never once driven it hard to chirp the tires. Car still has its original half-padded roof. Body and paint are real nice with zero rust. All the stainless and emblems are in good condition. Nothing is missing. Bumpers also are close to new. All the critical labels are still intact, including the SPID label on the inside trunk lid. This car is a bargain and has had excellent care since new.

We just discovered that Fed Ex will not forward any packages that are sent to the PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use Fed Ex. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

This Grand National is still available. This extremely well-optioned, low-mileage 1987 Grand National that is for sale. The owner wants me to sell it for him. He has had it 6 years. The miles on this Grand National is a mere 48,200. Options include factory moon roof, power windows, power locks, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, concert sound, power trunk, digital dash, power seat, working power antenna, and posi rear. The Grand National is located in Maryland.
It has a beautiful repaint done prior to his owning it. He had paint correction done and ceramic coating this past Spring. The car really shines, probably 100%, better than original. Everything functions 100%, even the original AC.
Additional features include embroidered floor mats, few chrome goodies under the hood, Kirban adjustable fuel regulator, hot wire kit, 60lb injectors, adjustable wastegate, TT chip, new bumper fillers, new fuel tank, and has dual a-pillar gauges and console gauge package. He checked the car with a magnet and shows no putty or filler anywhere. It has the factory chip guard along bottom of the car.
According to the owner Mike, the Grand National has had 4 previous owners. The car shows no accidents or any indication that mileage is not accurate.
The price is $26,900. This Grand National is priced to sell. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of a well-optioned 1987 Grand National that would measure up to the quality of this one at this price. A factory moon roof with a power seat option is extremely rare. This car this Spring would easily bring several grand more than it is priced at this fall.

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.
When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.
Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.
You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be use you are using the current version.
NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -
We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.
IN CLOSING –
