SPRING IS IN THE AIR -
We have seen a recent increase in customers buying the Pypes exhaust system, alternators, Cold Case radiators, and the GM hood insulation pads. On the exhaust systems we now have added the Pypes 3 inch system that exits the same way as the popular 2 ½ inch exhaust system. The advantage is with my location only about 25 minutes from their warehouse we get very good service by picking them up quickly. Same goes for the Cold Case radiators. With summer heat coming, your 35 year old radiator that probably has not seen a flush in years may not be up to the task of properly cooling your engine. Heat is not a friend of making horsepower.
The Pypes 2 ½” exhaust system for the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal is #6996 with a price of $659.95 shipped to any of the 48 states. The 3” Pypes exhaust system is #7982 with a price tag of $699.95 shipped to any of the 48 states.
The 1986-1987 GM factory hood pad is #7926 with a price tag of $499.95 shipped to any of the 48 states. Keep in mind we have no idea how many GMs have these original hood pads. The hood pad is the most visible part under the hood. This is a GM one sent in the original box. It is reinforced to avoid damage in shipping.
Alternators, to my knowledge, we are the only source that provides customers with the exact correct looking original 1986-1987 alternators either with the stock amps or bumped to 200 amps. All built to our specs by one individual who has been doing them for over 30 years. Each is bench tested before I pick them up. Here again this source is about 25 minutes from my location. The alternator with the proper size pulley and cad plating etc is a very visible part under the hood. We also can get your alternator rebuilt or even provide you with a proper date coded alternator. With these cars bringing big dollars the more original you make your car the greater the value is in years to come. The part numbers for the alternator options are #7315, #7316, #7317, and #7319. Pieces range from $229.95 to $315.95 and have a one year warranty.
Cold Case radiators is #7457 with a price of $429.95 plus shipping. Cold Case is a division of Pypes. Both products have become extremely popular choices among Turbo Regal owners. The owner of the company started like I did in the GTO reproduction business so we have a similar background and have been friends for a long time. Matter of fact he bought my GTO parts business years ago when I decided to sell that part of our business. They also have access to all the GM keys and locks that we market. All critical must have parts as you build your Turbo Regal.
A WORD ABOUT TURBO REGAL VALUES -
It appears that serious collectors seek out Grand Nationals and for the most part the T-Type and Turbo-Ts including the Limited Turbo Ts linger behind in value. It is tough to explain why that is when the truth is certain T-Types and Turbo-Ts are quite rare depending on color and equipment. The same holds true with the Limited. What serious collectors may not realize is the T models are just as quick as the drivetrains are the same.
I know I have always preferred a T-Type or Turbo-T and of course a Limited model. Grand Nationals would produce a quicker sale but I have always searched out the unusual models even going back to my GTO days. On another note it is easier to find a well optioned Grand National over a bare bones example. The reason in part is because dealers made more money when they sold a well optioned Grand National versus a bare bones example.
Lost in that translation is a bare bones Grand National besides being rarer and lighter would be quicker. Adding to the confusion is some dealers had T-Tops added after they took delivery of a solid roof Grand National in order to get a higher price tag. Those aftermarket T-Top model Grand Nationals are one to avoid at all costs unless you got the talent like my son to cut a roof off a hardtop. The SPID label would actually still be correct as the T-Tops was added after the car was made. A lesser option dealers added back in the day was to pinstripe a Grand National. The pinstripes were never offered on a Grand National. A bigger blunder was when a dealer added a riveted on body side molding. The factory body side molding was all black and of course was secured by adhesive. Riveted body side creates additional body work if you plan to eliminate it. Repainting a black car requires extremely good body work otherwise every minor imperfection will clearly be visible on a black repainted Grand National. I would always ask if the car had riveted body side moldings. Many owners never realized they were not original. Also if it is riveted there is a good chance it is nowhere near exactly where the factory stick on body side molding would have been.
1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL FACTORY MOONROOF CAR UPDATE -
This car resides near St Louis Missouri. Mileage is 82,000. Reason he is selling this restored Grand National is he prefers the older muscle cars, mainly GTOS and has several. He has been a customer of ours for a long time. He is a machinist/engineer by trade so he is very detailed. About 4 years ago he had the car stripped down to bare metal. He gutted the car's interior and even removed the factory astroroof. All new GM seals were installed. The price tag alone at the body shop was 16 grand! That does not include all the GM seals he purchased. Today, not a single ding or scratch is in this car. As you can imagine the paint job is far superior to anything Buick did. He was just always bothered about the poor paint job and it was thin in parts. He also has the window sticker. It listed for just under 20 grand. It has every single option except engine block heater and twil lite sentinel. Car even has the factory trunk kit. Car has my front and rear braces installed. Alot of very tasteful upgrades have been done yet retaining a very streetable performing car. Plenum spacer, stainless dual exhaust, TA49 turbo, special chip from turbo tweaked.
Duttweiler neck on the intercooler, adjustable wastegate, adjustable fuel regulator, knock sensor alarm, console gauge holder. Exhaust temp and boost gauge. RJC plenum spacer, tinman air system. He retained all the original parts which would go with the car. HR body mounts. Engine internals never touched. Has 60lb injectors. Bilstein shocks and Kirban braces are on this car as well. Even has the factory hand crank for the astroof in the brown envelope. It also has Razors alky kit. Larger downpipe. So if you were to add up all these upgrades and the 16 grand for the repaint and the fact the car listed for almost 20 grand when new this is a very rare and well equipped example of a top of the line example. You would be hard pressed to find one in this price range that has all these features adult owned, never abused. The price is $52,900. This is the asking price. The price is negotiable. 1987 TURBO-T HARDTOP BLACK EXTERIOR WITH BLACK OUT PACKAGE - FOR SALE -
Just got word of this car yesterday. Bought in August of 1986 by the seller's father. Restored at great expense in 2017 and only driven about 1,000 miles since then. The father since then has passed away and that is the reason the car is now for sale. Car is a hardtop black and blackout package. They only offered this color combo with the blackout package for a few months due to the introduction of the WE4 model. This is quite unusual as it has a 60/40 split bench seat and the interior is burgundy. All new body bushings, our front frame braces and rear seat braces are installed. Most had gray interiors. Most of the paint is still original. All the documents, window sticker, and SPID label are intact. Currently I have photos and a copy of the window sticker. It does need some floor pan work on one side. Car does run. What makes it rare is its a manual 3 speed car! Seller is seeking $3500. Note the Cougar has no title as the woman owner abandoned it years ago at a body shop. So you need to check with the laws in your state on what would be required to obtain a new title.

CORES NEEDED - URGENT REQUEST –
Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. Or, we will pay $125 cash for each powermaster core. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now. Or we will pay $150 cash for each complete stock turbo core.
BRAKE PEDALS we issue a letter of credit for $50 for each powermaster brake pedal or we will pay $40 cash for each pedal.

Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for an ad for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.

Cold Case radiators is #7457 with a price of $429.95 plus shipping. Cold Case is a division of Pypes. Both products have become extremely popular choices among Turbo Regal owners. The owner of the company started like I did in the GTO reproduction business so we have a similar background and have been friends for a long time. Matter of fact he bought my GTO parts business years ago when I decided to sell that part of our business. They also have access to all the GM keys and locks that we market. All critical must have parts as you build your Turbo Regal.
A WORD ABOUT TURBO REGAL VALUES -
It appears that serious collectors seek out Grand Nationals and for the most part the T-Type and Turbo-Ts including the Limited Turbo Ts linger behind in value. It is tough to explain why that is when the truth is certain T-Types and Turbo-Ts are quite rare depending on color and equipment. The same holds true with the Limited. What serious collectors may not realize is the T models are just as quick as the drivetrains are the same.
I know I have always preferred a T-Type or Turbo-T and of course a Limited model. Grand Nationals would produce a quicker sale but I have always searched out the unusual models even going back to my GTO days. On another note it is easier to find a well optioned Grand National over a bare bones example. The reason in part is because dealers made more money when they sold a well optioned Grand National versus a bare bones example.
Lost in that translation is a bare bones Grand National besides being rarer and lighter would be quicker. Adding to the confusion is some dealers had T-Tops added after they took delivery of a solid roof Grand National in order to get a higher price tag. Those aftermarket T-Top model Grand Nationals are one to avoid at all costs unless you got the talent like my son to cut a roof off a hardtop. The SPID label would actually still be correct as the T-Tops was added after the car was made. A lesser option dealers added back in the day was to pinstripe a Grand National. The pinstripes were never offered on a Grand National. A bigger blunder was when a dealer added a riveted on body side molding. The factory body side molding was all black and of course was secured by adhesive. Riveted body side creates additional body work if you plan to eliminate it. Repainting a black car requires extremely good body work otherwise every minor imperfection will clearly be visible on a black repainted Grand National. I would always ask if the car had riveted body side moldings. Many owners never realized they were not original. Also if it is riveted there is a good chance it is nowhere near exactly where the factory stick on body side molding would have been.
1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL FACTORY MOONROOF CAR UPDATE -
This car resides near St Louis Missouri. Mileage is 82,000. Reason he is selling this restored Grand National is he prefers the older muscle cars, mainly GTOS and has several. He has been a customer of ours for a long time. He is a machinist/engineer by trade so he is very detailed. About 4 years ago he had the car stripped down to bare metal. He gutted the car's interior and even removed the factory astroroof. All new GM seals were installed. The price tag alone at the body shop was 16 grand! That does not include all the GM seals he purchased. Today, not a single ding or scratch is in this car. As you can imagine the paint job is far superior to anything Buick did. He was just always bothered about the poor paint job and it was thin in parts. He also has the window sticker. It listed for just under 20 grand. It has every single option except engine block heater and twil lite sentinel. Car even has the factory trunk kit. Car has my front and rear braces installed. Alot of very tasteful upgrades have been done yet retaining a very streetable performing car. Plenum spacer, stainless dual exhaust, TA49 turbo, special chip from turbo tweaked.
Duttweiler neck on the intercooler, adjustable wastegate, adjustable fuel regulator, knock sensor alarm, console gauge holder. Exhaust temp and boost gauge. RJC plenum spacer, tinman air system. He retained all the original parts which would go with the car. HR body mounts. Engine internals never touched. Has 60lb injectors. Bilstein shocks and Kirban braces are on this car as well. Even has the factory hand crank for the astroof in the brown envelope. It also has Razors alky kit. Larger downpipe. So if you were to add up all these upgrades and the 16 grand for the repaint and the fact the car listed for almost 20 grand when new this is a very rare and well equipped example of a top of the line example. You would be hard pressed to find one in this price range that has all these features adult owned, never abused. The price is $52,900. This is the asking price. The price is negotiable. 1987 TURBO-T HARDTOP BLACK EXTERIOR WITH BLACK OUT PACKAGE - FOR SALE -
Just got word of this car yesterday. Bought in August of 1986 by the seller's father. Restored at great expense in 2017 and only driven about 1,000 miles since then. The father since then has passed away and that is the reason the car is now for sale. Car is a hardtop black and blackout package. They only offered this color combo with the blackout package for a few months due to the introduction of the WE4 model. This is quite unusual as it has a 60/40 split bench seat and the interior is burgundy. All new body bushings, our front frame braces and rear seat braces are installed. Most had gray interiors. Most of the paint is still original. All the documents, window sticker, and SPID label are intact. Currently I have photos and a copy of the window sticker. Note the Cougar has no title as the woman owner abandoned it years ago at a body shop. So you need to check with the laws in your state on what would be required to obtain a new title.

CORES NEEDED - URGENT REQUEST –
Here is the information on our credits for cores.
STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. Or, we will pay $125 cash for each powermaster core. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now. Or we will pay $150 cash for each complete stock turbo core.
BRAKE PEDALS we issue a letter of credit for $50 for each powermaster brake pedal or we will pay $40 cash for each pedal.
If you ship to us, the post office is the cheapest method. Pack the item(s) with a note with your name, address and phone number.

Here are the options and the costs.
Ads can be from any individual or company. It needs to be automotive related, meaning it does not need to be specifically Turbo Regal related. It can be for something for sale or something wanted.
Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for an ad for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.
