We now offer a complete upgraded direct bolt on of the front brake kit. This kit fits all G-body cars including the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals. The kit includes everything you need. Two new 11.6 inch cross drilled and slotted zinc-plated rotors, two single piston powder-coated RED upgraded calipers, 4 carbon fiber ceramic brake pads, and installation kit. We also offer the carbon fiber ceramic brake pads by themselves as a separate part number.
This is one nice upgrade to replace the factory front brake system. This is a direct bolt in kit with nothing else to change or modify. This upgraded front brake kit provides long lasting protection from rust and corrosion.
The carbon fiber ceramic brake pad kits is #7937. The price is $99.95 plus shipping. FACTORY SEALED GNX AND TURBO TRANS AM KITS -
See the Rare Parts section for what models we have available and prices. Only subscribers can see the Rare Parts section. What I found interesting is the single Turbo Trans Am kit was made by AMT and is a 1:25 scale model. The 2-pack features a rare hardtop Turbo Trans Am model and lacks all the factory exterior badging. It is 1:24 scale and made by Monogram. The 2-pack featuring the GNX and the Corvette ZR1 is an interesting comparison. Later the ZR1 Corvette would be compared to the GMC Syclone. I remember when these 2-pack kits were available in K-Mart years ago.

REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM BRAKE DRUMS -
This is a project we are quite proud to have been part of. It was several years ago that we shopped this project around to various turbo suppliers that had connections overseas. Matter of fact I had an original pair of aluminum drums on the back of my last test car, the white Turbo-T. Besides the improved appearance you shed a bit over 10lbs of weight. Nobody could pull it off because of the combination of aluminum and steel. Fortunately back then I knew 2 suit and tie guys at Cardone. I presented a very detailed summary about how wide the market would be especially if they did two versions by simply changing the center hole diameter to fit the Chevy 12 bolt rears.
It reminded me of my GTO days. When I was looking at doing the little plastic emergency brake handle that every GTO used 1964-67 I was told the tooling would be five thousand dollars! In the late 1970s investing 5 grand into basically a plastic handle that at most could retail for $15 was out of the question. However I went to my friend's local junk yard (they were called that back then) and quickly discovered that if the handle was threaded it would also fit all the 1964-67 Chevelles which was a huge market. Unfortunately Buick and Olds the handle was not the same. So we did the project.
Back to the aluminum brake drum project they fit a lot of GM cars. The first several years sales were quite disappointing. But like many reproductions once owners become aware of the product either seeing on cars at car shows or facebook or other places sales in recent times for us have picked up.
The quality of these aluminum drums is top notch. Cardone did a super job. They don’t gamble too much into reproduction products related to the older car market at least they didn;t back when I presented my summary of why I thought this was a good idea. Plus they are stocked in their Philadelphia location so I get them rather quickly. Now the new options for front brakes the aluminum drums compliment the rear brakes. Many owners have different wheels on their cars which exposes more of the rear drums and aluminum don’t rust besides the weight saving. Used drums can be a gamble because until you get them turned they may not have enough meat on them.

2008 HONDA RIDGELINE TOP OF THE LINE MODEL AVAILABLE FOR SALE -
It is a well known fact among dealers and buyers that Honda has a stellar reputation for building vehicles that can easily go well over 150,000 miles. I own a 2003 Civic manual shift with over 220,000 miles on it. It is absolutely like new inside and out. This Honda Ridgeline is a “Kirban Quality''. Honda Ridgeline is a very desirable model and hard to find in this pristine condition. By “Kirban Quality” I mean the exterior, interior, engine bay is in remarkable condition. You can easily tell this Honda Ridgeline has excellent care throughout its life. The factory VIN decal is on every panel and I can't detect any evidence of any paint work. Grey leather interior and well optioned with a locking back cover, trailer hitch, pewter blue exterior against grey leather interior. The Ridgeline has bluetooth and DVD player with screens in both headrests for back seat riders. Four wheel drive 3.5 V6 powered. Has 163,000 miles. Asking $10,795. 1984-1987 TURBO REGAL WITH ANALOG DASH STAINLESS FUEL SENDING UNIT -
This is another part that in recent months has become increasingly hard to get. Our supplier has a number of these available. Our part #7441. The price is $189.95. Our supplier has the STAINLESS sending units not the steel ones. I have no idea if the company that makes them has plans to make any more. You do have to reuse some of your original parts. In this business you never know. Look at the factory 1986-1987 heater water valve. No company that I am aware has reproduced the original heater water metal valve. The 4 unique molded heater hoses that go in that same general area I have to get them from two different sources as neither source for whatever reason, has all 3 of the different hoses. (The kit takes 2 of one version of the same molded hose). Each day brings more supply issues. Delays in shipments have become the new norm. Age increases the lack of availability of the various parts, but on the plus side it also increases the value of your Turbo Regal. This is something you probably have to remind your spouse each time you use your credit card at Kirban Performance or one of the many other Turbo Regal suppliers you buy from.

It is also the correct grey to repaint the steering column.
COMING SOON FRONT AND REAR TURBO REGAL SPRINGS -
We found a source that has located about 20 pairs of original brand new rear springs for the Turbo Regal. They also have available upgraded front springs specifically for the Turbo Regal. The rear springs being original factory GM is limited to about 20 pairs. However, since the rear springs are factory original and only about 20 pairs are available you can call our office and reserve a set of the rears. The price is $119.95/set plus shipping. The fronts currently will not be a supply issue. The price for the front springs will be $169.95/pair plus shipping. To reserve either a front or a rear set or both contact our office. UNUSUAL CARS FOR SALE IN MY AREA -
I recently spotted a 1991-1994 Alfa Romeo convertible for sale. I do not know the exact year. Very solid looking car Pennsylvania inspected. The popular red color exterior. Top looks fairly new. The tan/beige interior needs to be redone. I have yet to reach the owner.
Also a used car dealer near me has a 1983 SL 380 Mercedes coupe for sale. The car has the removable hardtop on it. Car has 118,000 miles on it. The price is $11,995. Body and paint is extremely nice as is the interior. Light beige with a dark brown interior. The car is not inspected and needs a muffler. The car has an aftermarket radio. I know for a fact they have had this car for sale for several months so the price may have some wiggle room.

COLLECTOR CAR COLLECTION UPDATE - THREE TURBO REGALS AND ONE SYCLONE
All 4 are still available. The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. The Syclone he also purchased was brand new. These vehicles are located in Tennessee. The light blue 1986 T-Type is $25,000 OBO. The 1987 Grand National has the rare factory astro roof and has been repainted Corvette red. It is priced at $20,000 OBO. The white 1987 Turbo-T is $25,000 OBO. The Syclone has about 9,500 miles on it. It is priced at $44,900 OBO. See past Inner circle for more details on these vehicles. MY THOUGHTS ON RARE FEATURES/OPTIONS RELATED TO THE TURBO REGALS -
I refer to them as features rather than just options because some of the rare parts are not considered options. One example, would be the radio delete would not be an option, but rather a feature. I had a Turbo Regal years ago with the window sticker. The window sticker showed a radio delete with a power antenna. One of the most asked questions I see on Facebook and owners email me is how rare such and such an option is. Having sold over 225 of these cars and been to virtually GS Nationals since 1988 I have a pretty good sense of what would be rare.
It is unfortunate the Buick never kept accurate records that I am aware of that would have recorded this information related specifically to the Turbo Regal models. Buick just lumped everything together under the Regal model. When I was writing my first book I had a direct phone line to a person in Flint that had access to various production figures related to the Turbo Regal. But those figures covered the entire production of the Regal.
I remember having the number of Regals that got the T-Top option. It is safe to assume most of the Regal models that got T-Tops would be Turbo Regal models. The customer base for the V6 and V8 Regals was an older crowd so finding a regular Regal with T-Tops that would be quite rare in my opinion. Adding to the confusion is some dealers had aftermarket T-Tops installed on Turbo Regals to increase their profit margins. Locating various parts for those modifications today would be extremely difficult as the T-Tops were a different size and the interior trim around them was vastly different. The Corvette owners have access to many sources that break down every option and production figure for virtually every year the Corvette was made.
Here are my thoughts on what would be the top 3 rare options. In 3rd place would be the electroluminescent coach lamps code C93 which was a $102 option only in 1987 as it was offered on the Limited Turbo models only. Taking second place in my opinion would be the very rare extra thick padded landau roof CB4 which was $260. Again only offered in 1987. The standard padded roof was a $200 option. Over the years I have only seen one Turbo Regal with the unique thicker padded landau roof option. Taking the number one spot for rare options and one I have never ever seen is code D83 with a price tag of only $200 additional. You could have gotten any Turbo model painted in any other available GM color except the Grand National.
That means you could have gotten a WE4 which came with a black exterior in any other color in the GM line up for 1987. I have never seen a Turbo Regal that was a factory paint in another color. So, if you ever see a trunk ID label and the code listed is D83 you hit the Turbo Regal lottery for an extremely rare car. The code is for a solid color; they did not offer a two tone combination. A few other examples of rare features or options that I have owned over the years would be a Grand National with no tilt, a Limited model with crank windows instead of power windows. It was quite common for cars that went down south to not have the rear window defogger.
GM has offered the solid color paint option for many years. Not sure if they still offer it today. If they do I am certain it would run more than $200. I have no idea if Ford or Chrysler also offered this option to its customers. I have seen Regals with the AC delete which is quite rare but not available in the Turbo Regal models. I remember years ago residents of Hawaii for example could order certain vehicles with the heater delete. Not something buyers in Minnesota would go for! I am not sure if any car companies offer that today or not.

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal, add $10. You would receive a $160 Letter of Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.

Maximum number of words is 125 words, which is about 7 to 9 lines of copy. No photos. You can list a website. We recommend you state your name, phone number or email, a price, and your location in your ad.
The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

This plastic power steering reservoir has been reproduced exactly like the original. It is unique for only the 1986 and 1987 Buick Turbo Regals. The lettering on the cap is hand-painted in white.
Originals are prone to cracking or the inlet and outlet orifice can easily get broken.
Very few sources sell it with the hand-painted lettering on the white cap, as shown in the photos.

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models) -
REPRODUCTION HEADER PANEL
This reproduction header panel is made to factory specifications for fit. It does not have the emblem mounting hole. The material is the same as the original. SMC is both a process and reinforced composite material.
The header panel is in primer and ready to be painted and installed.
We recommend the header panel be test fitted prior to painting and installation. Minor modifications (including elongating mounting holes and adding shims) are normal and may be needed during installation.
It is important to note that hard driving can twist frames and bodies out of original tolerances. Also, previous accidents or damage can cause fitment problems with installation.

This is one nice upgrade to replace the factory front brake system. This is a direct bolt in kit with nothing else to change or modify. This upgraded front brake kit provides long lasting protection from rust and corrosion.

FACTORY SEALED GNX AND TURBO TRANS AM KITS -
See the Rare Parts section for what models we have available and prices. Only subscribers can see the Rare Parts section. What I found interesting is the single Turbo Trans Am kit was made by AMT and is a 1:25 scale model. The 2-pack features a rare hardtop Turbo Trans Am model and lacks all the factory exterior badging. It is 1:24 scale and made by Monogram. The 2-pack featuring the GNX and the Corvette ZR1 is an interesting comparison. Later the ZR1 Corvette would be compared to the GMC Syclone. I remember when these 2-pack kits were available in K-Mart years ago.
PHOTO 2 - We show both the factory sealed single kits featuring the Turbo Trans Am and the Buick GNX, we have for sale also the two different 2-pack model kits we have available. These are extremely rare to find today still factory sealed in good condition.
REPRODUCTION ALUMINUM BRAKE DRUMS -
This is a project we are quite proud to have been part of. It was several years ago that we shopped this project around to various turbo suppliers that had connections overseas. Matter of fact I had an original pair of aluminum drums on the back of my last test car, the white Turbo-T. Besides the improved appearance you shed a bit over 10lbs of weight. Nobody could pull it off because of the combination of aluminum and steel. Fortunately back then I knew 2 suit and tie guys at Cardone. I presented a very detailed summary about how wide the market would be especially if they did two versions by simply changing the center hole diameter to fit the Chevy 12 bolt rears.
It reminded me of my GTO days. When I was looking at doing the little plastic emergency brake handle that every GTO used 1964-67 I was told the tooling would be five thousand dollars! In the late 1970s investing 5 grand into basically a plastic handle that at most could retail for $15 was out of the question. However I went to my friend's local junk yard (they were called that back then) and quickly discovered that if the handle was threaded it would also fit all the 1964-67 Chevelles which was a huge market. Unfortunately Buick and Olds the handle was not the same. So we did the project.
Back to the aluminum brake drum project they fit a lot of GM cars. The first several years sales were quite disappointing. But like many reproductions once owners become aware of the product either seeing on cars at car shows or facebook or other places sales in recent times for us have picked up.
The quality of these aluminum drums is top notch. Cardone did a super job. They don’t gamble too much into reproduction products related to the older car market at least they didn;t back when I presented my summary of why I thought this was a good idea. Plus they are stocked in their Philadelphia location so I get them rather quickly. Now the new options for front brakes the aluminum drums compliment the rear brakes. Many owners have different wheels on their cars which exposes more of the rear drums and aluminum don’t rust besides the weight saving. Used drums can be a gamble because until you get them turned they may not have enough meat on them.

2008 HONDA RIDGELINE TOP OF THE LINE MODEL AVAILABLE FOR SALE -
It is a well known fact among dealers and buyers that Honda has a stellar reputation for building vehicles that can easily go well over 150,000 miles. I own a 2003 Civic manual shift with over 220,000 miles on it. It is absolutely like new inside and out. This Honda Ridgeline is a “Kirban Quality''. Honda Ridgeline is a very desirable model and hard to find in this pristine condition. By “Kirban Quality” I mean the exterior, interior, engine bay is in remarkable condition. You can easily tell this Honda Ridgeline has excellent care throughout its life. The factory VIN decal is on every panel and I can't detect any evidence of any paint work. Grey leather interior and well optioned with a locking back cover, trailer hitch, pewter blue exterior against grey leather interior. The Ridgeline has bluetooth and DVD player with screens in both headrests for back seat riders. Four wheel drive 3.5 V6 powered. Has 163,000 miles. Asking $10,795. 1984-1987 TURBO REGAL WITH ANALOG DASH STAINLESS FUEL SENDING UNIT -
This is another part that in recent months has become increasingly hard to get. Our supplier has a number of these available. Our part #7441. The price is $189.95. Our supplier has the STAINLESS sending units not the steel ones. I have no idea if the company that makes them has plans to make any more. You do have to reuse some of your original parts. In this business you never know. Look at the factory 1986-1987 heater water valve. No company that I am aware has reproduced the original heater water metal valve. The 4 unique molded heater hoses that go in that same general area I have to get them from two different sources as neither source for whatever reason, has all 3 of the different hoses. (The kit takes 2 of one version of the same molded hose). Each day brings more supply issues. Delays in shipments have become the new norm. Age increases the lack of availability of the various parts, but on the plus side it also increases the value of your Turbo Regal. This is something you probably have to remind your spouse each time you use your credit card at Kirban Performance or one of the many other Turbo Regal suppliers you buy from.

COMING SOON FRONT AND REAR TURBO REGAL SPRINGS -
We found a source that has located about 20 pairs of original brand new rear springs for the Turbo Regal. They also have available upgraded front springs specifically for the Turbo Regal. The rear springs being original factory GM is limited to about 20 pairs. However, since the rear springs are factory original and only about 20 pairs are available you can call our office and reserve a set of the rears. The price is $119.95/set plus shipping. The fronts currently will not be a supply issue. The price for the front springs will be $169.95/pair plus shipping. To reserve either a front or a rear set or both contact our office. UNUSUAL CARS FOR SALE IN MY AREA -
I recently spotted a 1991-1994 Alfa Romeo convertible for sale. I do not know the exact year. Very solid looking car Pennsylvania inspected. The popular red color exterior. Top looks fairly new. The tan/beige interior needs to be redone. I have yet to reach the owner.
Also a used car dealer near me has a 1983 SL 380 Mercedes coupe for sale. The car has the removable hardtop on it. Car has 118,000 miles on it. The price is $11,995. Body and paint is extremely nice as is the interior. Light beige with a dark brown interior. The car is not inspected and needs a muffler. The car has an aftermarket radio. I know for a fact they have had this car for sale for several months so the price may have some wiggle room.

All 4 are still available. The 1986 blue T-Type and the 1987 Grand National he purchased brand new. He is the 3rd owner of the white 1987 Turbo-T. The Syclone he also purchased was brand new. These vehicles are located in Tennessee. The light blue 1986 T-Type is $25,000 OBO. The 1987 Grand National has the rare factory astro roof and has been repainted Corvette red. MY THOUGHTS ON RARE FEATURES/OPTIONS RELATED TO THE TURBO REGALS -
I refer to them as features rather than just options because some of the rare parts are not considered options. One example, would be the radio delete would not be an option, but rather a feature. I had a Turbo Regal years ago with the window sticker. The window sticker showed a radio delete with a power antenna. One of the most asked questions I see on Facebook and owners email me is how rare such and such an option is. Having sold over 225 of these cars and been to virtually GS Nationals since 1988 I have a pretty good sense of what would be rare.
It is unfortunate the Buick never kept accurate records that I am aware of that would have recorded this information related specifically to the Turbo Regal models. Buick just lumped everything together under the Regal model. When I was writing my first book I had a direct phone line to a person in Flint that had access to various production figures related to the Turbo Regal. But those figures covered the entire production of the Regal.
I remember having the number of Regals that got the T-Top option. It is safe to assume most of the Regal models that got T-Tops would be Turbo Regal models. The customer base for the V6 and V8 Regals was an older crowd so finding a regular Regal with T-Tops that would be quite rare in my opinion. Adding to the confusion is some dealers had aftermarket T-Tops installed on Turbo Regals to increase their profit margins. Locating various parts for those modifications today would be extremely difficult as the T-Tops were a different size and the interior trim around them was vastly different. The Corvette owners have access to many sources that break down every option and production figure for virtually every year the Corvette was made.
Here are my thoughts on what would be the top 3 rare options. In 3rd place would be the electroluminescent coach lamps code C93 which was a $102 option only in 1987 as it was offered on the Limited Turbo models only. Taking second place in my opinion would be the very rare extra thick padded landau roof CB4 which was $260. Again only offered in 1987. The standard padded roof was a $200 option. Over the years I have only seen one Turbo Regal with the unique thicker padded landau roof option. Taking the number one spot for rare options and one I have never ever seen is code D83 with a price tag of only $200 additional. You could have gotten any Turbo model painted in any other available GM color except the Grand National.
That means you could have gotten a WE4 which came with a black exterior in any other color in the GM line up for 1987. I have never seen a Turbo Regal that was a factory paint in another color. So, if you ever see a trunk ID label and the code listed is D83 you hit the Turbo Regal lottery for an extremely rare car. The code is for a solid color; they did not offer a two tone combination. A few other examples of rare features or options that I have owned over the years would be a Grand National with no tilt, a Limited model with crank windows instead of power windows. It was quite common for cars that went down south to not have the rear window defogger.
GM has offered the solid color paint option for many years. Not sure if they still offer it today. If they do I am certain it would run more than $200. I have no idea if Ford or Chrysler also offered this option to its customers. I have seen Regals with the AC delete which is quite rare but not available in the Turbo Regal models. I remember years ago residents of Hawaii for example could order certain vehicles with the heater delete. Not something buyers in Minnesota would go for! I am not sure if any car companies offer that today or not.

We discovered that FedEx will not forward any packages that are sent to the old PO Box or to our old address in Plumsteadville. Instead they deliver the packages to the old address and leave them outside or send them back to the shipper. They refuse to forward and say that we should notify the shipper. In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.
If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

STEERING WHEEL CORES. Currently we need good 1986-1987 Turbo Regal steering cores. They must be straight and not have rusted spokes. We will issue a Letter of Credit of $100 for each acceptable core. You must email me [email protected] a photo first to make sure the steering wheel is acceptable.
POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS. Currently, we are accepting powermaster brake units. We give a $150 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. If you include the turbo pedal, add $10. You would receive a $160 Letter of Credit. To avoid having your core not accepted, you MUST first email me a photo of the core you plan to send in - [email protected] - We will NOT accept any cores that have severe rust issues or have been disassembled. Core must have the brake switch and brake bowl reservoir. Too many of the cores we have been getting are in such terrible shape they are worthless to us.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock turbo. They must be complete. We will issue you a $175 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core. We need cores now.

The cost for 2 consecutive weeks is $25. The cost for 4 consecutive weeks is $40. You save $10 with the 4-week plan. No changes can be made to your existing running ad. You can only run one ad at any given time. We will have a code system at the end of your ad, so we will know what week number your ad is to run - 2 or 4 weeks.
It can be an ad for something for sale or an ad for something you are looking for.
We have never missed a single week since we started the Inner Circle email format in 2009. It’s something I enjoy doing and I just always seem to have enough material to write about.

This plastic power steering reservoir has been reproduced exactly like the original. It is unique for only the 1986 and 1987 Buick Turbo Regals. The lettering on the cap is hand-painted in white.
Originals are prone to cracking or the inlet and outlet orifice can easily get broken.

REPRODUCTION HEADER PANEL
This reproduction header panel is made to factory specifications for fit. It does not have the emblem mounting hole. The material is the same as the original. SMC is both a process and reinforced composite material.
The header panel is in primer and ready to be painted and installed.
We recommend the header panel be test fitted prior to painting and installation. Minor modifications (including elongating mounting holes and adding shims) are normal and may be needed during installation.
It is important to note that hard driving can twist frames and bodies out of original tolerances. Also, previous accidents or damage can cause fitment problems with installation.
