CUSTOM-MADE DRIVER’S SIDE POWDER-COATED BLACK RELAY COVER -
We used to sell this custom-made driver’s side powder-coated black relay cover several years ago, but it was discontinued. We have once again brought it back and we are able to keep the price the same.
This cover looks identical in shape to the GM relay cover that is on the passenger’s side inner fender. By having it powder coated in a satin black, it will not rust. The big advantage is it can keep water from getting into the three relays on the inner driver’s side fender. The largest relay on the driver’s fender is the fan delay relay that triggers the fan when the engine is turned off.
If this relay gets corroded, it can cause the fan to run at any given time - even in the middle of the night - and eventually kill the battery.
The fan delay relay is not a sealed unit, so moisture can get in it. Although your car may not see the rain, water can run down on the relays when you wash your car.
Since the fan delay rely sells for $80 or more, this is cheap insurance to help keep moisture out of the relays on the inner driver’s fender.

GARAGE SALE ART -
Most collectors have some sort of pole building or garage to protect their collectible car(s) from the elements and, in many cases, work on them as well.
Perhaps you collect different objects to decorate the walls or shelves in your garage or pole building.
In my case, it has given me room to hang up many of the collectible items I have accumulated over the years. In recent years, most old automotive signs in good original condition fetch big money, depending on the brand.
PHOTO 2 - I bought this from my friend’s foreign car shop. I believe it’s from an Alfa Romeo. I thought it was a neat intake system. It has 4 single barrel carburetors or a pair of two single carburetors? It would be a nice item for the garage.
FRONT SEAT READING LAMPS -
The Front Seat Reading Lamps option was available for all the 1984 through 1987 Regals, including the Turbo Regal. The exception was if you had the T-Top, this option was not available. The code is “C95” and GM referred to it as “Front Seat Reading Lamps.” The price was $24 for the option for each year. Most people refer to it as the “Map Light Reading Option.” GM used this same front seat reading lamps in many of the other cars during the 1980s.
Of course, maps have virtually disappeared today, since most people use GPS!
At a quick glance this optional interior light looks no different than the ones GM used in the earlier A-body cars. Since my background specialized in Pontiac GTOs, I thought it looked very similar.
PHOTO 3 - The top photo shows the earlier A-Body optional front seat reading lamps. The first year in the A-body was 1965, at least for the GTO. It was different in 1964. The lower photo shows the optional front seat reading lamps for the G-body cars. The big difference between the two versions is in the center lens cover. The earlier A-body lens cover is wider front to back. The actual chrome housing is almost identical. The earlier A-body example takes a shorter tube-style glass bulb also. UPDATE ON THE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP WHERE TIME VIRTUALLY STOOD STILL -
I was back to my old friends’ shop again last week, buying more miscellaneous foreign car parts.
The two brothers bought the shop back in 1967. We lived across the street from them in 1970-1971. I had started our towing business just prior to moving to this location. The house we rented had two standard garages and a huge additional garage, plus an in-ground swimming pool.
Their shop was originally a gas station. The two brothers built several more bays onto the original shop.

A LOOK AT GARAGE - DRIVEWAY - SIDEWALK SALES -
It seems that every Memorial Day in our area it’s a big sales time for garage sales. Almost without fail every garage sale will feature one or more of these items: Books, exercise equipment, kid’s toys, or a fish aquarium.
Basically if you are the buyer, a garage sale is a means to move cheap stuff from the sellers location to your location.
Those stories you read on the internet of someone buying a painting for $2 and discovering later it is worth thousands of dollars are few and far between. The chance of buying a dresser and finding a secret compartment that yields several hundred silver dollars is also unlikely. Your chances are better of winning your states lottery!
I remember when we did a massive garage sale prior to moving to our new house about 8 years ago.
We put the ad in the newspaper and even said we would be serving free coffee and Yum Yum donuts. I wanted to move as much stuff as possible so I would not have to move it to the new house! We had people come before we even got out of bed that weekend.
At the time I had a 1967 VW bus sitting on our driveway. I had put a North Dakota license plate on the back. At the garage sale, I had someone wanting to buy the North Dakota license plate. I sold it for $10.
At the time we had an outside cat that was very friendly. She is grey and white, which apparently is a rare color combination for a cat. We had several people actually want to buy our cat, which was of course, was not for sale. I did keep an “eye” on her when people where shopping! That cat, Smokie, is still with us at our new house.
Years ago my oldest sister and her family had a huge garage sale when they lived in Montrose, Pennsylvania. They had a huge turnout and one person or persons asked to use their bathroom, which they said was ok. Unfortunately, that good deed had bad consequences and my sister later found out some of her personal items were stolen out of their house. So, if you’re planning a garage sale, think twice before letting anyone use your bathroom facilities. Free coffee and donuts may also increase the traffic to your sale.
MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCE -
We all know the real meaning on Memorial Day - to honor those that have served.
I just read that almost 500 World War II vets now die every day.
I got a call on Memorial Day from my youngest sister who was all of about 10 when I went to Vietnam in 1966. She is the youngest of us five kids. She had been teaching Junior Church on Sundays and she gave the kids a project of writing a note thanking a Vet. In the process of giving this assignment, she wrote me a note thanking me for my service and read it to me on the phone this past Memorial Day. I was deeply touched.
She still has some of the letters that I wrote her when I was in Vietnam. She resides with her family near Spokane, Washington.

We have an urgent need for powermaster cores, steering wheel cores, and turbo cores.

POWERMASTER CORES must be complete with brake bowl and brake switch. You get $100 Letter of Credit or we will trade our complete headlight kit #7530 a $129.95 value or $75 cash for each acceptable core. Powermaster units must be nice and not look like they been in a river for the last 10 years.
STEERING WHEEL CORES must be the 1986-1987 style. They can’t have any bent spokes and spokes, and can’t be rusty. We will issue you a $75 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock ones. They must be complete. We will issue you a $100 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core.

ORIGINAL GM AC DELCO HEATER WATER VALVE -
Our supplier was able to locate a few more of these original brand new AC Delco heater water valves. You must call our office to order one - 215-766-1611 x 0. The price is $60 plus shipping. It appears this AC Delco heater water valve will be discontinued from GM and AC Delco. It doesn’t appear that we will be getting any more of theses.

CUSTOM-MADE DRIVER’S SIDE POWDER-COATED BLACK RELAY COVER
The part GM forgot... This 1986-1987 Turbo Regal custom-made driver's side powder-coated black relay cover is cut exactly like the cover GM used on the passenger's side fender that shields the relays from moisture.
Although GM never made one, we have had this custom-made as a matching cover for the driver's side relays... this cover is a must for covering these three relays. Remember, moisture can cause critical failure of the fan delay relay and eventually kill the battery since the fan delay relay is wired directly to the battery. The fan delay relay is not a sealed unit, so anything you can do to keep moisture out of the unit is important.
Once installed this custom-made cover looks factory. The relay cover is powdered-coated in satin black to closely match the relay cover on the passenger’s side inner fender. Cover is easy to install and comes complete with two mounting screws.
NOTE - These covers will NOT fit a GNX.
Another nice item to enhance your engine compartment.

1984-1987 Buick Regal -
Reproduction 3-PIECE and 1-PIECE REAR SPOILERS
These reproduction 3-Piece and 1-Piece Rear Spoilers fit all two-door Regal models from 1984 through the 1987 Regal models, including all the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals.
These reproduction spoilers are made by Spoolfool Productions, which also makes the popular one-piece rear fillers and two-piece front fillers. The same high quality can be seen in these two versions of rear spoilers which are made in the USA using hand laid fiberglass in gloss black gelcoat. Due to the nature of these materials, small imperfections; pits, scratches, air bubbles, etc. are to be expected and are normal for this type of product.
The gelcoat is meant to be painted over, however, many customers are happy with the way they look right out of the box.
Each spoiler comes with mounting screws.
Spoilers are ready to install. Some holes may need to be slightly elongated, as every car is unique from the factory.
The three-piece rear spoiler is an exact match to the original GM Grand National rear spoiler.
The one-piece rear spoiler simply attaches to the trunk lid and over laps both of the rear quarter panel corners. This is similar to the Monte Carlo factory rear deck spoiler.

1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT HANGER LOOP
Over time, the factory catalytic converter rubber hanger loop can break away from the original metal catalytic converter bracket.
This rubber exhaust loop can easily be modified to replace the original worn out rubber hanger part on the original rear catalytic converter hanger.
As long as the original metal hanger is still in good shape, you can install this part to replace the rubber loop part on the original hanger. We include mounting hardware, if needed.
The entire factory hanger is no longer available from GM.

“POWERMASTER BRAKE SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR GUIDE - For 1985 thru 1987 Buick Turbo Regal, Grand National, GNX, T-Type, and Turbo-T” Book by Richard Clark and John Norton is an excellent reference Guide to have in your reference library.
It would also be a great gift for your mechanic.
This very detailed manual took over three years to do. Even if you lack mechanical skills, this Guide is worth having to share with your mechanic. It is full of highly-detailed photos and charts, showing all of the possible problems and solutions for diagnosing a powermaster brake unit. Everything can be done using basic hand tools. The Guide runs 90 pages in length.
Here are some of the chapters: Major Component Descriptions and Nomenclature, Powermaster Characteristics During Normal Operation, Common Problems and Which Tests to Run to Address Each One, Flowcharts to Help Diagnose Problems Correctly, The Major Components and How to Test Each One, Maintenance, Tools and Accessories, and Vendor List and Contact Information.
It is spiral bound for easy reading when you are working on the powermaster. As long as the electric motor is not burned out, everything else is available for you to repair a powermaster on your own with this handy Guide.
They also have made all the various O-rings that you need to rebuild a powermaster brake unit. In some cases, they had to have parts reproduced. For example, GM sold just one of the O-rings in the kit for over $30 each. This Powermaster Reproduction O-rings (14) kit is only $39.95, part #7676.
I don't think anyone has more experience with powermaster brake units than Richard Clark. Over the years, he has even made special testing equipment for not only the powermaster brake units but also for other electronic parts found in the Turbo Regals.
He worked with John Norton to compile this easy-to-follow and informative powermaster repair Guide, so you can become better educated on powermasters and not be stressed out the first time the brake light comes on!

PHOTO 3 - The top photo shows the earlier A-Body optional front seat reading lamps. The first year in the A-body was 1965, at least for the GTO. It was different in 1964. The lower photo shows the optional front seat reading lamps for the G-body cars. The big difference between the two versions is in the center lens cover. The earlier A-body lens cover is wider front to back. The actual chrome housing is almost identical. The earlier A-body example takes a shorter tube-style glass bulb also. UPDATE ON THE AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP WHERE TIME VIRTUALLY STOOD STILL -
I was back to my old friends’ shop again last week, buying more miscellaneous foreign car parts.
The two brothers bought the shop back in 1967. We lived across the street from them in 1970-1971. I had started our towing business just prior to moving to this location. The house we rented had two standard garages and a huge additional garage, plus an in-ground swimming pool.
Their shop was originally a gas station. The two brothers built several more bays onto the original shop.

A LOOK AT GARAGE - DRIVEWAY - SIDEWALK SALES -
It seems that every Memorial Day in our area it’s a big sales time for garage sales. Almost without fail every garage sale will feature one or more of these items: Books, exercise equipment, kid’s toys, or a fish aquarium.
Basically if you are the buyer, a garage sale is a means to move cheap stuff from the sellers location to your location.
Those stories you read on the internet of someone buying a painting for $2 and discovering later it is worth thousands of dollars are few and far between. The chance of buying a dresser and finding a secret compartment that yields several hundred silver dollars is also unlikely. Your chances are better of winning your states lottery!
I remember when we did a massive garage sale prior to moving to our new house about 8 years ago.
We put the ad in the newspaper and even said we would be serving free coffee and Yum Yum donuts. I wanted to move as much stuff as possible so I would not have to move it to the new house! We had people come before we even got out of bed that weekend.
At the time I had a 1967 VW bus sitting on our driveway. I had put a North Dakota license plate on the back. At the garage sale, I had someone wanting to buy the North Dakota license plate. I sold it for $10.
At the time we had an outside cat that was very friendly. She is grey and white, which apparently is a rare color combination for a cat. We had several people actually want to buy our cat, which was of course, was not for sale. I did keep an “eye” on her when people where shopping! That cat, Smokie, is still with us at our new house.
Years ago my oldest sister and her family had a huge garage sale when they lived in Montrose, Pennsylvania. They had a huge turnout and one person or persons asked to use their bathroom, which they said was ok. Unfortunately, that good deed had bad consequences and my sister later found out some of her personal items were stolen out of their house. So, if you’re planning a garage sale, think twice before letting anyone use your bathroom facilities. Free coffee and donuts may also increase the traffic to your sale.
MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCE -
We all know the real meaning on Memorial Day - to honor those that have served.
I just read that almost 500 World War II vets now die every day.
I got a call on Memorial Day from my youngest sister who was all of about 10 when I went to Vietnam in 1966. She is the youngest of us five kids. She had been teaching Junior Church on Sundays and she gave the kids a project of writing a note thanking a Vet. In the process of giving this assignment, she wrote me a note thanking me for my service and read it to me on the phone this past Memorial Day. I was deeply touched.
She still has some of the letters that I wrote her when I was in Vietnam. She resides with her family near Spokane, Washington.

We have an urgent need for powermaster cores, steering wheel cores, and turbo cores.

POWERMASTER CORES must be complete with brake bowl and brake switch. You get $100 Letter of Credit or we will trade our complete headlight kit #7530 a $129.95 value or $75 cash for each acceptable core. Powermaster units must be nice and not look like they been in a river for the last 10 years.
STEERING WHEEL CORES must be the 1986-1987 style. They can’t have any bent spokes and spokes, and can’t be rusty. We will issue you a $75 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock ones. They must be complete. We will issue you a $100 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core.

ORIGINAL GM AC DELCO HEATER WATER VALVE -
Our supplier was able to locate a few more of these original brand new AC Delco heater water valves. You must call our office to order one - 215-766-1611 x 0. The price is $60 plus shipping. It appears this AC Delco heater water valve will be discontinued from GM and AC Delco. It doesn’t appear that we will be getting any more of theses.

CUSTOM-MADE DRIVER’S SIDE POWDER-COATED BLACK RELAY COVER
The part GM forgot... This 1986-1987 Turbo Regal custom-made driver's side powder-coated black relay cover is cut exactly like the cover GM used on the passenger's side fender that shields the relays from moisture.
Although GM never made one, we have had this custom-made as a matching cover for the driver's side relays... this cover is a must for covering these three relays. Remember, moisture can cause critical failure of the fan delay relay and eventually kill the battery since the fan delay relay is wired directly to the battery. The fan delay relay is not a sealed unit, so anything you can do to keep moisture out of the unit is important.
Once installed this custom-made cover looks factory. The relay cover is powdered-coated in satin black to closely match the relay cover on the passenger’s side inner fender. Cover is easy to install and comes complete with two mounting screws.
NOTE - These covers will NOT fit a GNX.
Another nice item to enhance your engine compartment.

1984-1987 Buick Regal -
Reproduction 3-PIECE and 1-PIECE REAR SPOILERS
These reproduction 3-Piece and 1-Piece Rear Spoilers fit all two-door Regal models from 1984 through the 1987 Regal models, including all the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals.
These reproduction spoilers are made by Spoolfool Productions, which also makes the popular one-piece rear fillers and two-piece front fillers. The same high quality can be seen in these two versions of rear spoilers which are made in the USA using hand laid fiberglass in gloss black gelcoat. Due to the nature of these materials, small imperfections; pits, scratches, air bubbles, etc. are to be expected and are normal for this type of product.
The gelcoat is meant to be painted over, however, many customers are happy with the way they look right out of the box.
Each spoiler comes with mounting screws.
Spoilers are ready to install. Some holes may need to be slightly elongated, as every car is unique from the factory.
The three-piece rear spoiler is an exact match to the original GM Grand National rear spoiler.
The one-piece rear spoiler simply attaches to the trunk lid and over laps both of the rear quarter panel corners. This is similar to the Monte Carlo factory rear deck spoiler.

1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT HANGER LOOP
Over time, the factory catalytic converter rubber hanger loop can break away from the original metal catalytic converter bracket.
This rubber exhaust loop can easily be modified to replace the original worn out rubber hanger part on the original rear catalytic converter hanger.
As long as the original metal hanger is still in good shape, you can install this part to replace the rubber loop part on the original hanger. We include mounting hardware, if needed.
The entire factory hanger is no longer available from GM.

It would also be a great gift for your mechanic.
This very detailed manual took over three years to do. Even if you lack mechanical skills, this Guide is worth having to share with your mechanic. It is full of highly-detailed photos and charts, showing all of the possible problems and solutions for diagnosing a powermaster brake unit. Everything can be done using basic hand tools. The Guide runs 90 pages in length.
Here are some of the chapters: Major Component Descriptions and Nomenclature, Powermaster Characteristics During Normal Operation, Common Problems and Which Tests to Run to Address Each One, Flowcharts to Help Diagnose Problems Correctly, The Major Components and How to Test Each One, Maintenance, Tools and Accessories, and Vendor List and Contact Information.
It is spiral bound for easy reading when you are working on the powermaster. As long as the electric motor is not burned out, everything else is available for you to repair a powermaster on your own with this handy Guide.
They also have made all the various O-rings that you need to rebuild a powermaster brake unit. In some cases, they had to have parts reproduced. For example, GM sold just one of the O-rings in the kit for over $30 each. This Powermaster Reproduction O-rings (14) kit is only $39.95, part #7676.
I don't think anyone has more experience with powermaster brake units than Richard Clark. Over the years, he has even made special testing equipment for not only the powermaster brake units but also for other electronic parts found in the Turbo Regals.
He worked with John Norton to compile this easy-to-follow and informative powermaster repair Guide, so you can become better educated on powermasters and not be stressed out the first time the brake light comes on!
