Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 06-02-2021 -

STILL AVAILABLE FOR SALE GNX 393 WITH 27,800 ACTUAL MILES -

My seller has had several offers but no deals as of yet. This GNX has had the same owner for the last 3 years. In those three years he has driven it less than 1,000 miles. Car has had 3 previous owners, one of which owned it for 20 years. Originally sold down south when it was new. See last week's Inner Circle for more details. For more pictures and additional information email me direct [email protected]

1987 GRAND NATIONAL WITH 8,700 ACTUAL MILES AND RARE ASTROROOF FOR SALE -

We just got in this extremely low mileage and well optioned 1987 Grand National. This car is at our location. Car is very well optioned. The rare factory astroroof, power driver's seat, twilight sentinel, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, concert sound, power antenna, aluminum rear drums, am/fm eq radio, digital dash, power windows, rear defogger, power door locks, limited slip rear, headlamps on indicator, lighted visor mirror, and rear defogger. Reproduction window sticker copies. The built sheet copy. Car was originally sold in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Spare and jack appear to have never been used. Because this is such a low mileage example car it was kept as original as possible. For example the only interior replacements needed was the headliner, new floor mats, redone steering wheel and horn ring. Also just the center grey portion of the driver seat and both front door cards using original pallex date coded material. All the rest of the interior is original. The exterior got a new high quality repaint. The body was stripped to bare metal. The wheels are still all original and absolutely perfect. If I had GM boxes they could be boxed and sold as brand new! The exhaust is the Pypes system we sell. Other improvements include upgraded TA 49 Turbo, upgraded injectors, fuel feeder kit, high volume fuel pump and the radiator was re-cored. NOS hood pad, new fluid bottles AC was upgraded with a new evaporator can. Vacuum lines were replaced. A brand new battery was installed as well.

The underside of the car was extremely nice. The car got all new front brakes, all new correct rubber body bushings including the GNX ones.

For more information and photos email me directly [email protected] Keep in mind partial trades are considered and JJ Best can finance this car up to 90% if you have the proper credit. The asking price is $47,900. Car was appraised for $56 grand. Keep in mind we just sold two other high dollar Grand Nationals with a few more miles on them than this one has. Ironically, I sold one with T-Tops, then one with a solid roof, and now one with the astroroof option, all 1987 examples and all with a price tag north of $35 grand!

Remember if you are thinking about selling your 1986-1987 Turbo Regal we can market the car for you and eliminate a lot of the stress related to selling these cars. I do not need the car to be in my possession, but it helps. The car would be kept in doors and secured on a lift.

UPDATE 1965 PONTIAC LEMANS/TEMPEST PROJECT CAR FOR SALE -

I have not yet advertised this car on the various Pontiac forums until she gets the title back in her name. Once that has been done I will advertise on the Pontiac forums as a good many of those people will remember my name for sure. This car belongs to the person I just sold the last Grand National for. He had purchased this 1965 Lemans/Tempest ex race car in the early 1970s. It has been stored inside all those years. It is a post coupe. It has most of the basic parts to convert it to a GTO. It was painted back in the 1970s and never reassembled since that time. Car is a 4-speed with a console and a Hurst shifter. It has the proper 1965 GTO optional plastic wood wheel and the correct 1965 rally gauge cluster with tachometer. Under the hood sitting undisturbed since the late 1970s is a V8 engine, probably a 389. It does have factory tri-power with the factory 3 air cleaners. Manual brakes. Car is painted a very dark blue and appears to have an original factory vinyl roof. All the glass is good. Seats are black and are in mint condition. Car rolls on 4 tires. It is a project to finish assembling. Most of the parts appear to be there. Car appears to be missing the inside door panels and carpet. Headliner is intact. Extra tail light bezels go with the car.

The wife is working on getting the title into her name as it was never transferred. Providing this can be done properly will determine the price of this 1965 Pontiac with all the parts. Car is located about 1 hour from my location and would have to be trailered. She is working on getting the title in her name since it was never transferred years ago when her husband bought the car. This may take several weeks.

For more info and pictures email me direct [email protected]

The asking price is $13,900.

IN STOCK READY TO GO REBUILT POWERMASTER BRAKE UNITS -

We just got in several more rebuilt powermaster brake units. Remember if your car is not equipped with the brass brake proportioning valve it is best to replace it at the same time. We have them also in stock for immediate delivery.

ONE CLEVER SOLUTION TO REPLACING THE BODY BUSHINGS ON THE TURBO REGAL -

One of the difficult projects you can undertake is to replace all the body bushings. Age combined with winter weather conditions can both contribute to making this a difficult task. We recently got an email from a customer that has come up with a solution to make the job easier. Just as amazing is the person that came up with this clever solution is just 17 years old and has a Turbo Regal! Let's face it the years have not been very kind to the underside of most Turbo Regals unless the Turbo Regal has had excellent attention and resided in the southern part of the country. I know when I was selling the majority of these cars years ago it could be touch and go and just installing the 4 or 6 missing lower body bushings. I was very fortunate I never had an issue with any of the grade 8 bolts snapping loose the cage nut in the body. If that occurs it can be quite costly to fix that issue and time consuming. In severe cases of rust we sell a wide diameter metal washer that gets welded to the frame opening.

The problem is how do you lubricate the grade 8 bolt in advance to wrench it out carefully when you are trying to squirt the lubricate upside down. Tricky at best. The quick solution would be to flip the car on its roof which although in theory would work the additional damage to the roof would prove quite costly! Plus you need 4 or 6 of your strongest buddies and free beer to flip your car over on its roof.

Jaffer Malike who owns a 1986 Wh1 T-Type came up with a great idea and it works. Using a PB blaster he first took a drill and drilled a hole through the metal part of the exposed lower bushing. Then over a period of time kept squirting the PB blaster into the drilled hole. Once thoroughly soaked he gently kept working the grade 8 bolt back and forth, loosen two turns then retightened. Respray and repeat the process until he gets the bolt out. Generally the worse (rusted) ones will be from the rear axle back. The forward ones should be less prone to rust. He installed our 22 piece bushing kit along with the core support kit.

I tip my hat to the kid! Unfortunately, the longer you put this project off the tougher it can become. Currently we are out of the 22-piece body bushing kit, but hopefully checking with another source to see if we can get them. The kits we sell include the GNX upper “pop-in” bushing which makes the project complete. The core support kit is a separate part. You do have to raise the body up off the frame. Exercise extreme care when attempting this project and use proper tools. The end result is the return of the new car ride as the 35 plus year old original body bushings have been squashed to various degrees over the years.

THE MYSTERY OF THE 4 OR 6 MISSING LOWER BODY BUSHINGS -

The accepted conclusion as to why Buick never did install the 4 lower missing bushings is they were seeking a certain ride. Even in the parts book no bushing part number shows up in those 4 spots. However, having installed the 4 missing lower body bushings on over 300 of the 1986 and 1987 Turbo Regals I bought and sold, I also found a good number of 1986 Turbo Regals also lacked a lower bushing at the last position of the car. These cars were missing 6 of them. I also found that in some cases since there was no lower bushing in 4 positions the grade 8 bolt sometimes was missing and probably fell out at some point due to lack of pressure from the bolt resting on the body bushing. I even recall seeing a bolt missing on the GNX that Buick displayed at the GS Nats one year.

So regardless of the reason or reasons if they have never been installed I highly recommend you buy the 4 or 6 bushing kit we sell. No need to raise the car, you can easily do it on the ground as long as the bolt is not frozen with rust. Our part number on our website is #7306 or #7307. To clear up possible confusion while I refer to them as bushings, GM calls them cushions. Or, in simpler terms basically they resemble a small hockey puck!

MORE NEW TURBO REGAL PARTS COMING SOON -

In most cases, we have no idea when we are getting packages shipped back to us.

If you have any cores that are being sent back to us, be sure to use the correct address, especially if you use FedEx. Otherwise, we may not receive your package or it may be sent back to you.

NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE -

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.

When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.

Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

ABOUT OUR EMAILS -

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me directly - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.

IN CLOSING -

Remember the weekly Inner Circle always goes out at 3 pm eastern time so subscribers all have the same equal chance on the Rare Parts. All our parts generally are priced to sell and below what others offer. Also our used items are exactly as described.
