MORE RARE TURBO REGAL ITEMS -
I happen to spot this rare Turbo Regal item on ebay a few weeks back and I bought it. One of our customers was selling it. It was one of our 2007 Reunion T-shirts. It is brand new never used. He actually attended our 20th Kirban Reunion event in 2007. What makes this Reunion T-shirt rare is the fact it is signed by Molly and the owner also had me sign it back in 2007 as well.
PHOTO 1 - Photo on the left shows the front side of this 2007 Reunion shirt, which has both Molly’s signature and my signature. Photo on the right shows the back of the shirt. It has the World of Motorworks Silver Billet Turbo-T, which was also at this event. It is an ash grey T-shirt size 3XL. See Rare Parts section for more details and price. This is nice to have, especially if you are one of the lucky ones that have the Molly signature on your SPID trunk label.
GRAND NATIONAL DIRECTOR’S CHAIR -
This director’s chair was made probably 15-20 years ago and sold by I believe the original Bowling Green Customs company. I remember them but as of this writing I can’t locate any information about it. I bought it last week at the East Coast Buick Regionals, along with other items from one of my customers.
PHOTO 2 - Shows this original Grand National director’s chair. It is made of wood with metal hinges. It folds up. It needs repair work on the one upright that secures the embroidered cloth section. See the Rare Parts section as it is for sale. This is extremely rare to find today.
TURBO REGAL MEMORIES -
A few years back I had a chart made up listing almost all the 1986-1987 Turbo Regals we have bought and sold. The actual count is probably closer to 325, since this chart does not go past 2009.

PHOTO 4 - Shows a display board with a few samples of some of the Turbo Regals we sold and their original descriptions. The top picture shows the 5-bay garage at our old house. When this photo was taken, each garage bay had a Turbo Regal in it that was for sale. I think at the most during the winter months I may have had 8 or 9 sitting for sale.
THE LAST TURBO REGAL TO LEAVE OUR OLD HOUSE -
The last Turbo Regal we sold to leave our old house was a real GNX. We had already moved into our new house at Thanksgiving 11 years ago.
At the time, I left a GNX in one of the garage bays at our old house. It was probably not a smart move, since no one was living there. It was the one GNX I had bought locally that had our Kirban-style GNX wheels on it. I remember the GNX because it snowed the night before a transport truck was coming to pick it up at our old house. I had to take a snow shovel down to the old house to shovel the driveway in order to get the GNX down the driveway to the street for the transport truck.

REUNITING TURBO REGAL OWNERS WITH THEIR PAPERWORK -
We made another 4 or 5 people very happy this past week as we matched up another batch of current Turbo Regal owners with paperwork for their 1986-1987 Turbo Regals.
In several cases they bought their cars from me back in 1999 and earlier. In one case I even had a dozen photos of their car back when we lived at our old house. In another case I even had a copy of the bill of sale from the Buick dealership that sold the car in the summer of 1988 when it was brand new.
Another car we discovered the people bought it from a person who claimed it was one of my cars. They were moving back to Hungary and could not take the Grand National with them.
If you have no idea of where your car has been in the last 23 years, email me the last 6 digits of your VIN, since you may own one of the cars we have sold.

Having sold these jackets in the past, I can tell you they do run small for each size. For example, a medium would probably not fit anyone over 15 years old. MY GNX JACKET STORY -
As many long-time customers remember we had a number of brand new GNX jackets that we bought from Molly years ago.
Even though original GNX owners were to get one free, this offer sometimes didn’t get passed down to GNX owners that took title of their GNX.
It was in the early 1990s when the oldest of my three sisters (she’s 7 years younger than me) lived in a small town in upstate Pennsylvania. They have 4 kids. Speaking of hood shocks - I am always amazed that at almost every Turbo Regal car show I attend, I spot one or more cars that have installed the hood shocks upside down! The be in the correct position, the outer sleeve is at the top towards the hood.
A DISTURBING PREDICTION -
Here is a disturbing prediction I read in a recent USA Today newspaper. By 2025 private car owners in major U.S. cities will be as scarce as horse-and-buggy operators. It seems quite a number of car companies are pursing the idea of cars driving themselves. If this prediction comes to past, manual shift cars will become almost non-existent. I just hope this does not come to pass in my lifetime.

TIP FROM KIRBAN -
One of the best improvements you can make on any 1984-1987 Turbo Regal is to upgrade the visual look of the dash cluster. For less than $15 we sell a reproduction plastic lens for either the standard analog dash or the digital dash.
Part #7503 is for the analog dash and part #7504 is for the digital dash. The difference between the two versions is the position of the hole for setting the trip odometer. In many cases, the original lens is either scratched or someone sprayed it with a cleaner that has ruined it.
If you have the analog dash, another upgrade worth doing is the LED instrument light kit we made, part #7234. This makes a night and day difference to what is a crude set up that GM used on these cars. I have done this upgrade in our personal car.

Original 1986-1987 Turbo Regal belt tensioners can be worn out or broken, which can cause major charging problems.
This new reproduction belt tensioner uses better quality steel spring materials using today’s technology. The original factory tension on the OEM tensioner is rated at 19.5 to 20. The spring tension on these test at 20.5.
This part has not been available from GM for many years.
This reproduction belt tensioner comes with a new pulley as shown.

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models including Turbo Regals) -
Reproduction T-TOPS WEATHERSTRIP SEALS (4) SET
GM discontinued all the factory 1984-1987 Regals T-Tops weatherstripping several years ago. After much research and trial fitting, we now buy from a source that actually was a GM supplier.
We offer the seals as a kit of 4 pieces - 2 main surround seals and 2 anti-rattle strips.
Kit includes the two main body seals that surround the T-Tops openings. These run from the front pillar post around the entire T-Tops opening frame, and down the back side of the door jamb area. These would be the larger seals in the kit.
The other 2 seals are called the “anti-rattle” weatherstrips. These attach to the actual metal frame area, so when you place the T-Tops in position, it helps to make them seat snug and helps to prevent the T-Tops from rattling. You need to adjust the T-Tops so they are snug.
To further restore the car, we also highly recommend you install the Rear Seat Frame Brace Kit, Part #1586 or Part #7169, unless you have already done so. These help retain body stiffness.
Actual T-Tops can also be adjusted as needed, so they latch securely once you have all the new weatherstrip seals properly installed.
This kit is actually less expensive than the GM’s price when it was still available.
These T-Top seals come from a different supplier than the other seals we offer. The fitment is very good.
NOTE - This kit does NOT include the actual seals for the lift-off T-Tops panels. If you need the seals for the actual T-Tops panels, you would need to purchase #7375 kit, which includes all 6 seals.

Speaking of hood shocks - I am always amazed that at almost every Turbo Regal car show I attend, I spot one or more cars that have installed the hood shocks upside down! The be in the correct position, the outer sleeve is at the top towards the hood.
A DISTURBING PREDICTION -
Here is a disturbing prediction I read in a recent USA Today newspaper. By 2025 private car owners in major U.S. cities will be as scarce as horse-and-buggy operators. It seems quite a number of car companies are pursing the idea of cars driving themselves. If this prediction comes to past, manual shift cars will become almost non-existent. I just hope this does not come to pass in my lifetime.

TIP FROM KIRBAN -
One of the best improvements you can make on any 1984-1987 Turbo Regal is to upgrade the visual look of the dash cluster. For less than $15 we sell a reproduction plastic lens for either the standard analog dash or the digital dash.
Part #7503 is for the analog dash and part #7504 is for the digital dash. The difference between the two versions is the position of the hole for setting the trip odometer. In many cases, the original lens is either scratched or someone sprayed it with a cleaner that has ruined it.
If you have the analog dash, another upgrade worth doing is the LED instrument light kit we made, part #7234. This makes a night and day difference to what is a crude set up that GM used on these cars. I have done this upgrade in our personal car.

Reproduction BELT TENSIONER WITH NEW PULLEY
Original 1986-1987 Turbo Regal belt tensioners can be worn out or broken, which can cause major charging problems.
This new reproduction belt tensioner uses better quality steel spring materials using today’s technology. The original factory tension on the OEM tensioner is rated at 19.5 to 20. The spring tension on these test at 20.5.
This part has not been available from GM for many years.
This reproduction belt tensioner comes with a new pulley as shown.

1984-1987 Buick Regal (All Models including Turbo Regals) -
Reproduction T-TOPS WEATHERSTRIP SEALS (4) SET
GM discontinued all the factory 1984-1987 Regals T-Tops weatherstripping several years ago. After much research and trial fitting, we now buy from a source that actually was a GM supplier.
We offer the seals as a kit of 4 pieces - 2 main surround seals and 2 anti-rattle strips.
Kit includes the two main body seals that surround the T-Tops openings. These run from the front pillar post around the entire T-Tops opening frame, and down the back side of the door jamb area. These would be the larger seals in the kit.
The other 2 seals are called the “anti-rattle” weatherstrips. These attach to the actual metal frame area, so when you place the T-Tops in position, it helps to make them seat snug and helps to prevent the T-Tops from rattling. You need to adjust the T-Tops so they are snug.
To further restore the car, we also highly recommend you install the Rear Seat Frame Brace Kit, Part #1586 or Part #7169, unless you have already done so. These help retain body stiffness.
Actual T-Tops can also be adjusted as needed, so they latch securely once you have all the new weatherstrip seals properly installed.
This kit is actually less expensive than the GM’s price when it was still available.
These T-Top seals come from a different supplier than the other seals we offer. The fitment is very good.
NOTE - This kit does NOT include the actual seals for the lift-off T-Tops panels. If you need the seals for the actual T-Tops panels, you would need to purchase #7375 kit, which includes all 6 seals.

This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.
