Here are the rules for our annual Thanksgiving Day contest.
This contest is open to all our Inner Circle readers. The deadline is 5 pm eastern time this Saturday, November 28th, 2015.
You get only 1 guess. That single guess must be emailed to me personally - [email protected]
In case of a tie, the earliest time is the winner. The exact guess or closest guess under the actual count is the winner. The second closest guess will take second place. Rules must be followed exactly!

TV SERIES - ROUTE 66 -
The Route 66 series ran from 1960 to 1964; a total of 116 episodes.
Our prize consists of 2 DVDs covering 10 episodes of the first season of the TV series Route 66.
I remember this TV show as a teenager. As many readers may recall, at age 16 in 1963, I ran away from home and actually was picked up by the police on Route 66 about 10 miles east of Gallup, New Mexico.
From what I read, the TV series was never filmed on or near Route 66.
I can’t recall ever reading anywhere among Corvette collectors if the Corvettes they used in this TV series have ever surfaced and have been restored.

Last week we showed the brochure entitled, “High Technology from Buick” from the 1984 Buick Press Kit.
These full-color glossy brochures were part of the yearly Buick Press Kits.
The Buick Press Kits are extremely difficult to find today. I can’t recall ever seeing one for sale over the last half dozen years or so at Carlisle or even at the GS Nationals. Even though the Buick Press Kit would cover all the Buick models for that given year, the highlight of the Press Kit was the Turbo Regal or, more importantly, the Grand National.
PHOTO 2 - Here are 2 original black and white photos from the 1984 Buick Press kit showing 2 versions of the new Regal T-Type. The one being a two-tone version, known as the Designers’ Accent Paint, that was available on the Regal coupe models. The additional cost for this two-tone paint scheme was $205. A similar paint scheme was available on Regal sedans, but the colors that were offered were different than the coupe models. The cost was just $200 for the sedan version.
PHOTO 3 - Shows the black and white photo from the 1984 Buick Press Kit that shows the Grand National and the Century Olympia Sedan. It seems strange that the Grand National would be featured on a smaller photo than the T-Types for 1984.
PHOTO 4 - We show an original black and white photo showing the 1983 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Twin Turbocharged 4.1 liter V6 engine. One can only imagine what that engine would be worth today. It would be nice to have it sitting as a neat display item!

TENSIONER PULLEY BEARING REMOVAL -
This tip comes from Ken, out of Ohio, who did this install with our new bearing for his tensioner.
If you don’t have a press, the old bearing can be removed by laying the pulley on a hard flat surface such as a garage floor. Using a 1 inch socket, gently tap the old bearing out with a hammer.
To install the new bearing, use a 1-1/8 inch socket and gently tap the new bearing in from the other side of the pulley. It’s important that you make sure the socket stays centered on the bearing and the bearing is squared up in the pulley as you tap it in, and that it seats all the way at the bottom.
It took only about 10 minutes to perform this task.
TURBO REGAL HOOD SHOCK INSTALLATION -
This tip comes from Clem out of Massachusetts.
We pointed out in a recent Inner Circle that the piston sleeve is towards the hood, rather than towards the fender. The reason Buick did it this way was to keep dirt from collecting and dragging debris into the piston when the hood closes. The debris would scratch the seal that holds the pressurized gas inside the shaft.
Eventually this would ruin the seal and the gas shock would fail. While I agree that theory is correct, I have noticed on other applications (whether it’s another car model hood or a SUV rear hatch) the gas shocks are reversed. However, in an effort to keep your car correct or original, the piston end goes towards the hood!
NEW PRODUCT FROM US -
See the New Products section for our latest new product. Once again we located the original style valve stem caps that GM used on all the G-body cars from at least 1984 thru 1987.
We had to paint them grey to match the original color, but the actual shape of these is exactly what GM used on all the G-body models. Of course, the one exception is the GNX, which used regular black valve stem caps. This is not a huge new product, but one that as time goes on will be something that many customers will want as these cars get restored. These are in stock for immediate delivery.

We have 1 unique item now in the works. It’s being produced by Spoolfool exclusively for our company.
We have also been in conversation with another company about something that we hope to be able to make happen. Both of these projects will work with any year Turbo Regal.

TURBO REGAL POWER ANTENNAS UPDATE -
We had our son Darrell make up a sample bracket and template so these new power antennas will bolt into the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, like the originals.
He installed one in a Grand National that he had painted, and it used this new bracket.
These new power antennas have a manufacturer’s One-year Warranty.
Antennas are actually made for another GM car. They use the same screw-in bezel that sits on the top of the fender, so you can use the original bezel. The 3-wire lead and plug is identical to the original. The new bracket will be bolted to the new antenna. A rubber boot will also come with this new power antenna to protect the motor from the elements.
We expect to have these new power antennas ready to ship before the end of November. If you place your order in advance now, the sale price is $179.95 plus $12 shipping. The retail price once they are available will be $199.95 plus shipping. We would not charge your credit card until we are able to ship the power antenna to you.
This power antenna is not on our website, so you have to call and talk to Christina to get on the list if you want one - 215-766-1611 x 0. By ordering now you save $20. This also gives us a good idea on how many power antennas we need to have initially. We should have production of these shortly.

Currently we are overstocked with our fiberglass front and rear bumpers. Part #1507 is the front bumper and #1532 is the rear bumper. The retail is normally $190 each. CORES NEEDED -
Here is the information on our credits for cores.
We currently need original good 1986-1987 AC Delco mass air flow sensors. We allow $25 credit for each core that can be rebuilt. Credit will not be issued until we get your unit back from Cardone showing it was able to be rebuilt. Recent cores have shown that some of them are simply not able to be rebuilt any more.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock ones. They must be complete. We will issue you a $100 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core.

CORRECT LOOKING GRAY VALVE STEM CAPS (10) SET
More and more Turbo Regal owners are starting to restore their cars, since the values of original Turbo Regals is on the increase.
One visible small part is the unique style grey valve stem caps that were used on all the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, except for the GNX.
These are the correct looking valve stem caps for the T wheels and the Grand National wheels. These are not correct for the GNX wheels.
If you have an original spare tire in your trunk, you can check that valve stem cap and the design will look identical to the caps pictured here.
These are the correct style. We did however had to paint them grey to match the original color.
Each car uses 4 valve stem caps for the wheels and 1 for the spare. Our set includes 10 caps, which gives you 2 full sets.
An excellent replacement item for any exterior restoration.

AFTERMARKET MANIFOLD AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Over a period of time, the original manifold air temperature sensor may fail to read accurately, due to age or dirt.
This manifold air temperature sensor gives the computer a reading of the air temperature as it enters the turbocharger. The sensor is capable of reading between -40 and 266F. This is the sensor that mounts in the factory elbow off the air cleaner assembly.

VACUUM BLOCK REPLACEMENT VACUUM HOSES (10) SET
These are the hoses that connect the vacuum lines to the vacuum block.
It takes 3 different sizes of the vacuum hoses to complete the set.
If you are buying either of our reproduction new billet vacuum blocks, it’s best to replace the 5 rubber hoses, since the originals may be cracked. Hoses may also split when you attempt to remove them.
Because the material is inexpensive, we only offer a set of 2 complete sets (10 hoses), so you will have a spare set.

Original bolts between both hood hinge brackets and both hood shock brackets are prone to rust over the years.
We offer a set of 14 replacement powder-coated glossy black bolts. You only need 12 for the noted application, and we include 2 extras.
We purchase brand new OEM bolts, then have each bolt individually powder coated with a high glossy finish.

OEM BEARING for the Stock Belt Tensioner Pulley
We discovered that most of the aftermarket belt tensioner pulleys from the various suppliers do not match up to the original design.
The simple solution was to find the manufacturer of the actual bearing that GM used. We carry that exact bearing, made by the same manufacturer.
It is a double-sealed ball bearing.
You need to get it pressed in by someone that has a bench press. It does not require much effort to press in the new bearing.
Our photo shows an original on the lower left, this new replacement bearing on the lower right and a stock belt tensioner pulley at the top.

Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

I remember this TV show as a teenager. As many readers may recall, at age 16 in 1963, I ran away from home and actually was picked up by the police on Route 66 about 10 miles east of Gallup, New Mexico.
From what I read, the TV series was never filmed on or near Route 66.
I can’t recall ever reading anywhere among Corvette collectors if the Corvettes they used in this TV series have ever surfaced and have been restored.

Last week we showed the brochure entitled, “High Technology from Buick” from the 1984 Buick Press Kit.
These full-color glossy brochures were part of the yearly Buick Press Kits.
The Buick Press Kits are extremely difficult to find today. I can’t recall ever seeing one for sale over the last half dozen years or so at Carlisle or even at the GS Nationals. Even though the Buick Press Kit would cover all the Buick models for that given year, the highlight of the Press Kit was the Turbo Regal or, more importantly, the Grand National.
PHOTO 2 - Here are 2 original black and white photos from the 1984 Buick Press kit showing 2 versions of the new Regal T-Type. The one being a two-tone version, known as the Designers’ Accent Paint, that was available on the Regal coupe models. The additional cost for this two-tone paint scheme was $205. A similar paint scheme was available on Regal sedans, but the colors that were offered were different than the coupe models. The cost was just $200 for the sedan version.
PHOTO 3 - Shows the black and white photo from the 1984 Buick Press Kit that shows the Grand National and the Century Olympia Sedan. It seems strange that the Grand National would be featured on a smaller photo than the T-Types for 1984.
PHOTO 4 - We show an original black and white photo showing the 1983 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Twin Turbocharged 4.1 liter V6 engine. One can only imagine what that engine would be worth today. It would be nice to have it sitting as a neat display item!

TENSIONER PULLEY BEARING REMOVAL -
This tip comes from Ken, out of Ohio, who did this install with our new bearing for his tensioner.
If you don’t have a press, the old bearing can be removed by laying the pulley on a hard flat surface such as a garage floor. Using a 1 inch socket, gently tap the old bearing out with a hammer.
To install the new bearing, use a 1-1/8 inch socket and gently tap the new bearing in from the other side of the pulley. It’s important that you make sure the socket stays centered on the bearing and the bearing is squared up in the pulley as you tap it in, and that it seats all the way at the bottom.
It took only about 10 minutes to perform this task.
TURBO REGAL HOOD SHOCK INSTALLATION -
This tip comes from Clem out of Massachusetts.
We pointed out in a recent Inner Circle that the piston sleeve is towards the hood, rather than towards the fender. The reason Buick did it this way was to keep dirt from collecting and dragging debris into the piston when the hood closes. The debris would scratch the seal that holds the pressurized gas inside the shaft.
Eventually this would ruin the seal and the gas shock would fail. While I agree that theory is correct, I have noticed on other applications (whether it’s another car model hood or a SUV rear hatch) the gas shocks are reversed. However, in an effort to keep your car correct or original, the piston end goes towards the hood!
NEW PRODUCT FROM US -
See the New Products section for our latest new product. Once again we located the original style valve stem caps that GM used on all the G-body cars from at least 1984 thru 1987.
We had to paint them grey to match the original color, but the actual shape of these is exactly what GM used on all the G-body models. Of course, the one exception is the GNX, which used regular black valve stem caps. This is not a huge new product, but one that as time goes on will be something that many customers will want as these cars get restored. These are in stock for immediate delivery.

We have also been in conversation with another company about something that we hope to be able to make happen. Both of these projects will work with any year Turbo Regal.

TURBO REGAL POWER ANTENNAS UPDATE -
We had our son Darrell make up a sample bracket and template so these new power antennas will bolt into the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, like the originals.
He installed one in a Grand National that he had painted, and it used this new bracket.
These new power antennas have a manufacturer’s One-year Warranty.
Antennas are actually made for another GM car. They use the same screw-in bezel that sits on the top of the fender, so you can use the original bezel. The 3-wire lead and plug is identical to the original. The new bracket will be bolted to the new antenna. A rubber boot will also come with this new power antenna to protect the motor from the elements.
We expect to have these new power antennas ready to ship before the end of November. If you place your order in advance now, the sale price is $179.95 plus $12 shipping. The retail price once they are available will be $199.95 plus shipping. We would not charge your credit card until we are able to ship the power antenna to you.

SPECIAL LIMITED SALE -
Currently we are overstocked with our fiberglass front and rear bumpers. Part #1507 is the front bumper and #1532 is the rear bumper. The retail is normally $190 each. Here is the information on our credits for cores.
We currently need original good 1986-1987 AC Delco mass air flow sensors. We allow $25 credit for each core that can be rebuilt. Credit will not be issued until we get your unit back from Cardone showing it was able to be rebuilt. Recent cores have shown that some of them are simply not able to be rebuilt any more.
TURBO CORES must be the 1986-1987 Turbo Regal stock ones. They must be complete. We will issue you a $100 Letter of Credit for each acceptable core.

CORRECT LOOKING GRAY VALVE STEM CAPS (10) SET
More and more Turbo Regal owners are starting to restore their cars, since the values of original Turbo Regals is on the increase.
One visible small part is the unique style grey valve stem caps that were used on all the 1984-1987 Turbo Regals, except for the GNX.
These are the correct looking valve stem caps for the T wheels and the Grand National wheels. These are not correct for the GNX wheels.
If you have an original spare tire in your trunk, you can check that valve stem cap and the design will look identical to the caps pictured here.
These are the correct style. We did however had to paint them grey to match the original color.
Each car uses 4 valve stem caps for the wheels and 1 for the spare. Our set includes 10 caps, which gives you 2 full sets.
An excellent replacement item for any exterior restoration.

AFTERMARKET MANIFOLD AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Over a period of time, the original manifold air temperature sensor may fail to read accurately, due to age or dirt.
This manifold air temperature sensor gives the computer a reading of the air temperature as it enters the turbocharger. The sensor is capable of reading between -40 and 266F. This is the sensor that mounts in the factory elbow off the air cleaner assembly.

VACUUM BLOCK REPLACEMENT VACUUM HOSES (10) SET
These are the hoses that connect the vacuum lines to the vacuum block.
It takes 3 different sizes of the vacuum hoses to complete the set.
If you are buying either of our reproduction new billet vacuum blocks, it’s best to replace the 5 rubber hoses, since the originals may be cracked. Hoses may also split when you attempt to remove them.
Because the material is inexpensive, we only offer a set of 2 complete sets (10 hoses), so you will have a spare set.

Original bolts between both hood hinge brackets and both hood shock brackets are prone to rust over the years.
We offer a set of 14 replacement powder-coated glossy black bolts. You only need 12 for the noted application, and we include 2 extras.
We purchase brand new OEM bolts, then have each bolt individually powder coated with a high glossy finish.

1986-1987 Buick Turbo Regal -
OEM BEARING for the Stock Belt Tensioner Pulley
We discovered that most of the aftermarket belt tensioner pulleys from the various suppliers do not match up to the original design.
The simple solution was to find the manufacturer of the actual bearing that GM used. We carry that exact bearing, made by the same manufacturer.
It is a double-sealed ball bearing.
You need to get it pressed in by someone that has a bench press. It does not require much effort to press in the new bearing.
Our photo shows an original on the lower left, this new replacement bearing on the lower right and a stock belt tensioner pulley at the top.
