01-18-2023 Inner Circle

Greetings Turbo Regal Inner Circle Members 01-18-2023 - ONE MAN'S PERSONAL CAR COLLECTION/MUSEUM - Earlier this month I was a guest speaker for a local Street Rod club. This club has been in existence for over 60 years old! One of the members is a friend of mine and suggested to the club they should invite me to speak. Unfortunately, the President of the club did not know who I was so they gave me less than 30 minutes for my talk. Once I gave my talk he wants me to talk again next month at their meeting giving me more time! Having grown up in the area turns out several members know me from my GTO days or towing days etc and so on. Anyhow, one member called me as they had an invite to see a private car collection that is not far from where I live. It's by invitation only and not open to the public. That happened this past Saturday. I had no idea what to expect as I did not know the owner of this massive private car collection. It sits in several unmarked buildings. We enter the one large building into a small office and there is a row of motorcycles including a Whizzard bike. He then opened a door into the main room and my jaw dropped. In all my years I had seen such an impressive private car collection and the attention to detail was remarkable. By that I mean that all the walls behind the cars were like mini store fronts from that particular time period. For example, a Barber Shop, Bakery smoke shop. The walls, everything. This main building must have housed about 50 cars or more. Cobras, Ferraris, GTOs, Corvettes. None of them roped off. A very rare 1968 I believe Olds 442 coupe. Sign said one of twenty five but being it was green on green with a green vinyl top probably rarer still. Crank windows with radio delete. Divco milk truck. A 1940s Dodge Tow truck. A 1930 Chicgao Police paddy wagon. Even a Wells Fargo stagecoach! I was there almost 3 hours and did not see everything as I had to leave. I talked to the owner. He may be a buyer for a Grand National or a GNX as he had none. More Cobra models than you can count on one hand and same with 1953 thru 1967 Corvettes. If you live anywhere near me and are associated with any type of car club I got the info. He assembled this entire collection in the last 20 years having sold his business. I was told he has bought over 30 cars from one of the major car auctions. The only thing I can compare it to is the Henry Ford museum which of course has deeper pockets to draw from. One of my GTO customers, owned a 1965 GTO, is in that museum by the McDonalds display. He lived in Florida and one of the executives from Ford happened to see his car years ago at a car show and they bought it for the museum. Plus I have sold a red 1964 GTO steering wheel to Pontiac years ago for a 1964 GTO they restored. Kind of rare getting a check from Pontiac Motor Division usually it's the other way around! In Photo 1 and Photo 2 I show 8 different photos from this impressive private collection! The fluorescent lights made it hard to take clear pictures. PHOTO 1 - We show two photos of a Wells Fargo stagecoach and some of the unusual displays in the background including a phone booth by several Corvettes. PHOTO 2 - We show several Porsche cars with a store front behind them. Also a Cobra and Jag again with a cool store front behind it. It is the attention to detail to the vintage store fronts that sets this private collection apart from your typical car collections/museums. I may show other photos next week as well. This is only a small sampling. All the cars, trucks, bikes are pristine (Kirban Quality) as the saying goes with the 2 car dealers I work for. BREAKING NEWS 1987 MONTE CARLO SS FOR SALE NEEDS TOTAL RESTORATION - The Monte Carlo is a real SS model. White with burgundy interior. Interior is partially apart. New tires and new factory wheels. Straight body does have rust in the floors and needs exhaust. Runs and drivers. Mileage is 156,000. It does have the trunk ID label! Good car to restore or parts? I know the seller is seeking $9500 but I am confident it can be bought for about $5500. I got pictures. Email me direct [email protected] PAST MEMORIES - Not sure of the exact year but circa 1970-72 since the house has no shrubbery or trees. At the time this was the five vehicles we owned at the time. One can only guess what each would be worth today. Each one is quite valuable. The 49 Olds was a 76 model Club Coupe. I had Hurst make a shifter on the floor for it. Powered by a 1957 Olds 371 packed up to a 4 speed hydro trans. The Corvette was the ultra rare 1963 split window and was one of the very few that the dash was never cut for a radio. I paid two grand for it in 1970. (It would later get stolen). The Volvo is a rare 544 model. It had a Judson supercharger on it! Great fun driving car which looked like a 1948 Ford. The white 1964 Lark was one of my favorite cars. I think it had 22,000 original miles. Original California race car I converted to street use. I paid $900 for it. Powered by the R3 Avanta engine with dual quads and a Paxton supercharger! A Hurst 4 speed with a 1957 Pontiac rear. Dog dish hubcaps on black steel wheels. Vinyl bench seat. Last but not least, is a 1947 Studebaker pickup truck with our Dens Towing sign on the bed. This I restored and would win a trophy almost every time as trucks at car shows back in the early 1970s were extremely rare. Today's combined value? My educated guess north of $200 grand. The engine in the Studebaker alone from what I've been told is big money as they never ever made a dual quad supercharged R3. The pipe that fed the two 4 barrel carbs was custom made. Car was the ultimate sleeper as a supercharger emits a very unusual sound and back then was not well known in the muscle car world. I was always attracted to the odd ball or unusual. PHOTO 3 - We show the 5 cars we had when we moved into 1482 Sugarbottom Road in Furlong. I had a 5 bay garage built besides the 2 1⁄2 that was attached to the house so the cars were always garaged. The second photo shows a very young Darrell holding the flag alongside our 1963 4-speed 327 Corvette and the 1964 Lark sedan. He was probably 3 or 4 years old. MORE MEMORIES - This is an original unprepped 1987 Grand National with a mere 49 miles on it. For those of you attempting to bring your car back to original condition here is what one looked like before anything was removed prior to getting sold back in 1987. According to the write up I marketed this 1987 Grand National for the seller in 2015. Notice the gas tank was silver. One small photo shows 3 small decals in the driver's lower front corner of the windshield. The steering wheel has a clear wrap on it. Covering is tacked down on the floor to protect the rugs. Both the overflow bottle and the washer bottle are bright white. Attached to the front center bumper is a thick foam block to protect the bumper. Remember the front license plate bracket would have come in a manila envelope and be tucked in where the spare tire sits! Both front seats have a clear bag over them. Barely visible would be the gray valve stem cap on the front wheel. Not visible is there would be clear over all the dash applique. Problem today is if it was never removed originally, it is next to impossible to remove it today! Not visible in the photos would be the various parts stickers under the car. They would include the parts sticker on the sway bars, springs, and the one tag by the fuel tank. There may have been others but I am going by memory. Look at the photos long enough you can almost smell that 1987 smell that the car would still have! Again I have no idea when I listed this car for the seller if it brought the $69,990 price tag. One thing is certain if this was present day at that price it would sell in mere minutes at that price! PHOTO 4 - We show both pages of this 49 mile Dealer unprepped T-Top 1987 Grand National. One that we would all make room in our garage for! WE4 T TOP 36,000 MILES FOR SALE SEE LIST BELOW PRICE REDUCED - Seller must sell now for just $30,000. This is a bargain. Location is Florida. See the list of cars below that I represent. AN ORIGINAL 1986 BUICK DEALER ALBUM STILL AVAILABLE SEE RARE PARTS - This is a rare find: an original 1986 Buick Dealer album with a near perfect vinyl binder. No marks on it at all. Most dealer albums simply got tossed out at the end of each model year. Some you find today are missing the Regal section. This one has the Regal section. New lower price! WE HAVE MORE BRAKE BOWLS IN STOCK - It is best to contact the office to be certain you get one. These are located at our Pennsylvania location and would ship from our Pennsylvania location. . OUR 1996 FORD RANGER XLT FOR SALE IS ALSO STILL AVAILABLE - This is one of our personal vehicles that we have owned for 9 years. A very long time for me to keep a vehicle! Most of my vehicles seldom have one birthday! It has always been garaged during that time and based on how nice the original paint is the truck was probably garaged most of its life. Car does not leak anything. New tires, new brake lines, new brakes, battery all maintenance done at a timely matter. Wheels are updated to the later Ranger 15 inch wheels. Interior has all been redone and is like new. The body is super straight with no dents and with zero rust. Truck a 5-speed manual shift with crank windows. Actual miles is 196,000. My email is [email protected] for more info and photos. Asking $3995. GOT TURBO REGAL PARTS TO SELL? - We are always in the market for buying collections if you have sold your car. Granted we will not pay retail but it can be far easier and quicker to sell everything at one time rather than deal with all the questions you get from any advertising you do. We can also set up someone to pick up the parts if it's a distance from my location and you can't ship. My email is [email protected] WE CAN MARKET YOUR CAR - When the time comes you need to downsize or simply move on. We can market your car for you. Especially now with Spring and Summer fast approaching. We handle the advertising and answering the questions and weeding out the tire kickers. We never give out the exact location of your car. You decide on the price after any bargaining is done. The money goes directly from the buyer to your bank account. I have a flat commission based on the price span. This format has worked out very well for me for both the buyer and the seller. The buyer has more confidence about the car especially if you are a long time owner and a customer of ours. . The seller is not bothered with phone calls or emails. Most potential buyers know who I am. So whenever the time comes you want to sell your car, email me the particulars. I can explain the process to you which also allows you to sell the car as well. My email is [email protected] I can also help you determine the price. I can also take in a trade and pay you the seller the difference. I have worked with JJ Best in the past which is quite generous in granting loans. So you have plenty of options. We also work with a broker that can handle transport both open and enclosed. This transport broker is a customer of ours and owns personally a 9,000 mile Grand National! He just had the last 3 cars I sold transported to their new homes! The car needs not be a Turbo Regal. NOTE - ABOUT LINKS IN THE INNER CIRCLE - We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle. When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another. Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works. You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be used if you are using the current version. NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE - We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo. If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]
