KIRBAN AUTO EASEL - CAR SHOW DISPLAY HOOD LATCH STAND –

Our new Kirban Auto Easel - Car Show Display Hood Latch Stand attaches to the actual hood latch assembly on the core support. We offer two versions - one with a Stainless Handle and the other with a Hurst handle. The one with Hurst handle includes is a brand new original Hurst handle at a slightly higher price.

The one with the Hurst handle would have its widest appeal for the older American muscle cars, many of which have a Hurst shifter in them.

With several parts involved, machine work, and powder coating, this project has been very time consuming to nail down all the cost factors.

Currently I am working with a dealership to nail down which GM vehicles use the same hood latch assembly, so we can cross reference to the G-body vehicles to widen the potential market. This is in addition to figuring out the Ford and Chrysler market. For example, this fits all the 1979-1993 Mustangs, all the 2009-2014 Dodge Challengers, and the 2010-2015 Camaros. This list will grow as we find more cars and even trucks it will fit. The market is huge.

This past Sunday the weather was nice and we had a local customer, Eric Opper, come over with his 1987 Grand National. Eric owns a beautiful show-quality 1987 Grand National. We wanted to feature the new display stand on a Grand National since this is the first market we plan to hit.

The design allows the display sign to be mounted either vertical or horizontal. You are not limited by the size of the display piece to mount. It can be the standard 8-½" x 11" size, but also the larger 11" x 17" size, again either vertical or horizontal providing the larger size is first mounted on a poster board to keep it rigid when attached to the aluminum display panel. To prevent any possible damage to the hood latch, the portion of the clamp that attaches to the hood latch has two coats of a rubber barrier on it. The rest of the 2-piece clamp is powder-coated glossy black for a show-quality appearance. All the hardware included with this kit is stainless steel. It was important that the quality of the display stand measured up to its purpose, which is to showcase your show car or truck.

The smart design and versatility of this display is bound to get many comments at car shows.

This is the first project created by the 3 generations of Kirbans - Dennis, Darrell, and Devyn Kirban. We are looking at doing other projects in the future.

We will be giving Inner Circle members a special introductory price for either version - the polished stainless handle or the original brand new Hurst handle. The length and angle of both handles is basically the same, which made it ideal to offer a Hurst handle as a second choice. We expect to have the price structure in place next week.

PHOTO 1 – The top left photo shows the Kirban Auto Easel on Eric’s Grand National hood latch with a vertical size 8-½" x 11" information sheet. The top right photo shows a typical 8-½" x 11" horizontal information sheet. The bottom left photo shows how a typical 11" x 17" vertical information sheet would look like. The bottom right photo shows an 11" x 17" horizontal information sheet would look like. The end result - regardless of what size or direction the information is displayed - it will be at the perfect reading level. It will also be centered in front of the car and not affected by wind, or someone tripping over it.

The complete kit weighs less than 2 pounds. Either size display or direction gives plenty of clearance to the header panel.

PHOTO 2 – The top left photo shows the back side featuring the polished stainless handle. The top right photo shows the back side featuring the new Hurst handle. As you can see, the design keeps the display away from the header panel and is angled for easy reading. The bottom left and bottom right photos show all the parts included in the kits. Not pictured is the easy-to-follow printed directions that will be included. Several methods can be used to attach the information copy to the aluminum display panel - Velcro, scotch tape, or double- sided tape are three possible suggestions.

MORE COLLECTABLE ITEMS FOR SALE -

Here are a few more items from our personal 25-plus-year collection. Almost everything sold last week within the first hour, including the Demon lighted sign.

We have 3 more HO scale slot cars. The chrome Tyco resembles a Regal and the yellow and blue Wrangler has the extended rear window like the 2 Plus 2 Pontiacs had. The solid black one appears to have been painted. The 2 emblems and one stick pin are rare. The S Type emblem refers to, I believe, an early Riviera model.

PHOTO 3 – The photo to the top left shows all 3 slots cars. You can find them listed for sale under Rare Parts. The top right photo shows the 2 emblems and the round Grand National pin.
The bottom left photo shows the GMP 1:24 scale two-tone black and grey 1986 T-Type. The bottom right shows the GMP 1987 Grand National alongside a matching GMP GNX. These diecast models can be seen for sale under the Rare Parts section.

1985 REGAL LIMITED CHEVY V8 POWERED – FOR SALE –

One of our relatives local to us is having us sell their custom-built 1985 Regal Limited that has been in the family since new. This 1985 Regal Limited has always been garaged, never hit, or smoked in. Our son Darrell repainted this car the factory color back in 2003 for $2,000. At 128,000 miles the engine was converted with a brand GM 350/330 HP crate motor at a cost of $5,200. This was backed up with a rebuilt turbo 400 transmission. A local shop that we deal with redid the rear putting in a new eaton posi with, I believe, to be 3.08 gears. Gear ratio is perfect for high speed cruising.

Being a Limited, it is very well optioned and even the power antenna works. It has Bilstein shocks. Tires are fairly new. The tire size is 205/75 by 14s. Riding on the original 14 by 6 steel wheels with full Regal wheel covers.

With just a few Turbo Regal upgrades this would be an extremely nice solid handling Regal. I you install set of 16 by 8s on all four corners, a Turbo-T steering box, a rear sway bar, and a leather wheel, it will not only ride better, but look better too. The doors shut like they are brand new. The driver’s power pillow seat is the only interior part that shows very minor wear along the edge and around the power switch. A set of tasteful 3 gauges hang of the bottom edge of the dash under the radio. The power seat motor runs but does not function. Headliner will need to be replaced. The steering column has movement in the one section of the tilt.

The current mileage is 135,000, so that is less than 10,000 miles on a brand new GM crate motor. Electric fan with a V8 radiator handles the cooling. The AC has been completely rebuilt. Car has long-branch headers that dump into a new GNX exhaust system. Bigger front sway bar was installed. MSD ignition and an Edelbrock 4-barrell carburetor are fed with a cold air system. The adult owner has never once driven it hard to chirp the tires. Car still has its original half padded roof. Body and paint are real nice with zero rust. All the stainless and emblems are in good condition. Nothing is missing. Bumpers also are close to new. All the critical labels are still intact, including the SPID label on the inside trunk lid. The price tag is a realistic $6,995. This car is a bargain and has had excellent care since new. The car is at our house. For more photos, email me direct [email protected]

PHOTO 4 – We show four different views of the light blue1985 Regal Limited. The top left photo shows the engine compartment. The top right photo shows the interior. The bottom left and bottom right show the outside of the garage-kept non-smoked in 1985 Regal Limited. A very tight riding car that has never been abused.

WELL-OPTIONED LOW-MILEAGE 1987 GRAND NATIONAL - FOR SALE –

This Grand National is still available. This extremely well-optioned, low-mileage 1987 Grand National that is for sale. The owner wants me to sell it for him. He has had it 6 years. The miles on this Grand National is a mere 48,200. Options include factory moon roof, power windows, power locks, tilt, cruise, delay wipers, concert sound, power trunk, digital dash, power seat, working power antenna, and posi rear. The Grand National is located in Maryland.

It has a beautiful repaint done prior to his owning it. He had paint correction done and ceramic coating this past Spring. The car really shines, probably 100%, better than original. Everything functions 100%, even the original AC.

Additional features include embroidered floor mats, few chrome goodies under the hood, Kirban adjustable fuel regulator, hot wire kit, 60lb injectors, adjustable wastegate, TT chip, new bumper fillers, new fuel tank, and has dual a-pillar gauges and console gauge package. He checked the car with a magnet and shows no putty or filler anywhere. It has the factory chip guard along bottom of the car.

According to the owner Mike, the Grand National has had 4 previous owners. The car shows no accidents or any indication that mileage is not accurate.

The price is $26,900. This Grand National is priced to sell. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of a well-optioned 1987 Grand National that would measure up to the quality of this one at this price. A factory moon roof with a power seat option is extremely rare. This car this Spring would easily bring several grand more than it is priced at this fall.

This car is show quality from any angle. For more information and photos, email me direct [email protected]

Pass the word along to your friends who may be looking for a great-looking well-optioned Grand National.

We have heard from a couple people that have had problems with the links in our Inner Circle.

When we check the links, they work fine. However, if you are not able to be directed to the exact website page or internet site, you can "copy" and "paste" the link into the URL in your browser (such as Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc.) If it doesn't link in one browser, it may work in another.

Most people having problems are using Internet Explorer. If you are having issues with links, try another browser to see if it works.

You may need to "UPDATE" your browser to be use you are using the current version.

NOTE ABOUT PHOTOS ON THE WEBSITE -

We have heard from a couple people that have viewed the photos on the website. Because these must be low-resolution photos to work on the Inner Circle segments on the website, any photos of text don't appear clear when enlarged. This is a problem when you are trying to see numbers, such as those on the VIN labels or pages from Options booklet. Also, because of photo reproduction and computer screen variations, the colors may not be true to the actual product or photo.

If you would like to have us email you any photo at the higher resolution for viewing, just email us and we will email them to you. Be sure to be specific on which pictures you want to see - Reference Inner Circle date and photo number 1, 2, 3 or 4 - [email protected]

ABOUT OUR EMAILS -

Any inquiries concerning used parts, you must email me direct - [email protected] - and I will answer you. However, if I fail to answer you within 24 hours, please email us again. Since expanding into used parts, I get a lot of emails and sometimes I may forget your request or may not remember who requested the item.

IN CLOSING –

Super Bowl predictions - Personally, I favor the Chiefs. They seem to have the best all around skilled players with Mahomes at the helm.
